- Hey Everyone! Im so stoked to show you how i do my mullet cuts for men! Men's mullets and Women's mullets are slightly different, i only have a tutorial for a mens mullet so far but hopefully one day i'll get a client who wants the softer, more feminine mullet and i can create a tutorial for that too! This is just one of many ways to do this haircut, let me know your thoughts and if you have any tips or tricks yourself on mullet cutting! Today i used my shears as well as a razor for the feathered layers. How would it work to have the sides a little longer? I'm looking for a less faddy and more formal-capable mullet
hello ! If you’re looking to preserve length in the side sections, Keep the little box longer than she did here, I would recommend starting with a level 7 or 8 clipper guard and gradually working your way shorter till you have your ideal length. Then either leave the top and sides disconnected, or blend the lengths of the sides in with the rest of the hair. Good luck with your mulleting !
going to try to cut this on my son tonight. since you cut the guide in the middle, do you work from the middle out, following the guide? sorry I'm not a hairdresser obviously lol. figured summer is a good time for experimenting 😆

I use 7” dry cutting shears from scissor tech Canada
In the mid eighties as a kid I never heard the word mullet . There were alot of celebrities that wore them some were long side parts like a young Rob Lowe or Goerge Clooney on Facts of life . Some people wore the layerd center parted and feathered cut the "eighties rocker "I have never went in to salon during that time hearing the word mullet we always said just ask for little off the top and feather it . In the year 1300 mullet was first coined to a fish. In 1994 it first appeared in print by the Beastie Boys release of a song called "Mullet Head " coining it to hair to shame the haircut as insult prior to that I dont think there was a name for the style of cut we were just getting our hair feathered and layered to a Shag

I hate when they use razors to do all that fancy stuff. I just tell them don't touch the back I just need a number 2 or 3 shave on the sides but not too far up and a little bit off the top. Maybe cut off the dead ends but not with a new person

Should have stopped at 431. It is NOT a mullet if you cut the back like you did... Not old enough to know what a true mullet is.
I love longer mullets too but I think this is a great modern version for someone to start off with

Hey love! My best advice is to go shorter with the shave on the sides and make them a little more bold! That adds some extra punch to the look!!
