Capcoor Actually, irony is the opposite of what is or might be expected. So what you said is that you wouldn’t expect Ritchie to be the one to worry about? I don’t know about you but I would expect someone who participated in my abduction to cause me to worry. Even if they didn’t directly threaten me. I think the word you’re looking for is tragic. Not ironic.
Understood but he abducted her. That to me, and this is just my opinion, would give me reason to fear him. He seemed mild but he had shown himself to be a criminal. Tragic but expected. Abductions can often result in homicide.
Man i wanted this entire movie to be about this storyline. I mean i like vampire movies as much as the next person, but this seemed so much DARKER and original.
I totally feel you man, besides all the special effects sucked ass. The first half the movie was amazing, the second half with all the cheap and sketchy vampire shit and the fact that Seth got away with the crime was the worst pathway for the movie.
thats the geniality... the first part is very "tarntino like" and in mexico everything goes to heeellll.... "robert rodriguez style".... For me that is the best of this movie... you are watching somthing and in the midle change 180 degrees hahahaha Awesome.
i remember being a kid watching this and the reaction on seth's face and the fast cuts of the body scared the shit outta me. just made me realize that the vampires aren't the real threat it's humans
I loved how Clooney laid out the ground rules to the hostage. That was vintage Tarantino dialogue right there and Clooney delivered it _perfectly!_ It’s a shame that Tarantino and Clooney haven’t worked together again since this movie…
I love this scene! Seth, the absolute professional who doesn’t harm anyone he doesn’t have to, trying to explain how the game is played to his schizophrenic, bratty little brother. What a great movie!
You know what I like more about George Clooney compared to that actor from the Netflix show? George Clooney made Seth believably intimidating, you can feel his anger and his craving for dominance throughout the movie, that makes him dangerous, you don't want to pi** him off. The new Seth was like 99% voice of reason and 1 % bad guy. In the show it's like Richie is the only person you need to be afraid of. But in the movie it's not the case. They are both scary in very different ways.
Seth was definitely intimidating but still charming and charismatic, which is why Clooney was the perfect actor for the role. He could be threatening and violent one minute but then be very calm and reassuring the next minute lol.
Lesson here, in Reservoir Dogs, and Pulp Fiction: If you can avoid it, never let someone take you from crime scene #1 to crime scene #2. It’s going to get seriously ugly if you do (more often than not).
The first half felt like a Tarantino film. The second half felt like a Robert Rodriguez film. Not that I'm hating on Robert, but dialogue was never his strong suit, at least compared to Tarantino. I love Robert but it's true.
He was great in the Descendants. He did an appearance on Inside the Actor's Studio and the Q&A he had with the students about rejection was funny and inspiring towards the end.

It’s ironic that the person threatening her was not the one she needed to be worried about.

The situation is ironic and the outcome is tragic.
Prudie S. I see what you mean, but Richie seemed so meek and mild. Not the kind of person you’d expect to do something like that.
But how? The situation is tragic for sure. But I don’t see how it’s ironic. The outcome is expected.

That's exactly what I thought. Movie had such a great buildup. Then they arrive at the titty twister and it all goes downhill from there.

Except you don't even know what happened to her because he flashes the frames too quickly
“I got six little friends and they all run faster than you” what a quote !
Jack Fahy Mr 44 makes a noise!
Gotta love the old clerk. Nobody had ever called him out before, and he basically went "Well, he's got a point, I AM a mean old bastard."
Back when horror movies weren't made for shock and awe. Those flashes of the blood covered walls and bed sheets was amazing.
i remember being a kid watching this and the reaction on seth's face and the fast cuts of the body scared the shit outta me. just made me realize that the vampires aren't the real threat it's humans
Ethan Christopher uh there’s always been horror movies made for shock and awe.
Ethan Christopher That was a cool way to shoot it.
Dude, this is not a horror movie bro
Y. R. I would say action/horror.
Richie was more disturbing than the vampires he got what he deserves later on
"what do you think i want you mean old bastard, i want a fuckin room" hahahaha
Ok alright 🤣
The woman playing the hostage was Quentin Tarantino’s acting teacher
@The Way Thing's Happen Payback maybe?
Played by actress Brenda Hillhouse.
I loved how Clooney laid out the ground rules to the hostage. That was vintage Tarantino dialogue right there and Clooney delivered it _perfectly!_ It’s a shame that Tarantino and Clooney haven’t worked together again since this movie…
yeah I agree. such a shame.
He worked for Robert Rodriguez instead for free
"Rule #3= Don't you ever try and fucking run on us, 'Cause I've got six little friends and they all run faster than you can." Classic truth.
in my case its 30 big freinds.
This scene is still both funny and haunting simultaneously.
I watched this as a kid it haunted me only now i seen this on tv 20 years later i forgot what the film was called.
Outstanding acting from George
Brilliance , I really don't think there is a better Storyteller or Character writer than Tarantino
"I said plant yourself! Plants dont talk!" Lol i died
She died because she was able to understand when she was supposed to "fucking" understand. :P
LOL why was Tarantino nominated for a Razzie for this? I thought he was really good here!
Are you serious? I think this is his best acting of his career
Was he nominated for a Razzie? Dude, he was fucking creepy? He plays such terrifying villain.
I love this scene! Seth, the absolute professional who doesn’t harm anyone he doesn’t have to, trying to explain how the game is played to his schizophrenic, bratty little brother. What a great movie!
Seth got some of those "tasty burgers" from Big Kahuna Burger. Coincidence maybe? *cough Pulp *cough Fiction.
A royale with cheese!
Nope I lived in houston once those are from Whataburger's I had them those are big cheese burgers very tasty tho.
The bell ringing scene always cracks me up lol.
Richie getting killed later on was a god send for Seth….. cause in the end Richie woulda been his undoing
"If you make a noise, Mr.44 makes a noise.. if you ask a question, Mr. 44 answers!" 1:08
In real life this would be horrendous. But here it's so funny.

Desperado, Once Upon A Time in Mexico, and Planet Terror would like to have a word with you.
One of my favorite scenes from this movie
I like the music that starts as soon as he opens the door
That old man at the hotel made this whole movie
This scene is more horrific than the vampires.
I ring the bell like that every time I go to a hotel. It's so much fun to piss off the lazy clerks.
Good Way To Get Escorted Off The Premises. Life's Not A Movie.
Then I just love how the guy goes "Yeah alright" directly after that
I think this is the only youtube conversing I've seen that wasn't an argument, kudos.
He was great in the Descendants. He did an appearance on Inside the Actor's Studio and the Q&A he had with the students about rejection was funny and inspiring towards the end.
George Clooney reminds me of his friend I used to have they almost are exactly the same
George is so HOT!
Really really hot 🔥 🔥 🔥
WhatsGoodFam Ninja marijuana kills
The old man was taking a dump.
"What do you think I want you meal old bastard, I wanna fucking room"
Skipped her getting on the bed and taking off her shoes
Watching this as a kid I completely missed the “six little friends" part- I thought he just meant he knew six guys that where really fast runners 🤪
I said plant yourself plants don't talk I'm dead
Quentin is actually a good actor.
Now why couldn't Clooney be this bad ass when he played batman 😆
The camera angle is reversed and the voice is more high pitched!!! AWESOME!!!😁😁😁
thanks for watching

"The WOMAN, the hos....THE FUCKIN' HOSTAGE! WHERE IS SHE?!" lmfao
The beginning
lol
The Rice and Beans line got me 😂
Now that i think about it why was Seth discussing their escape plans (El Rey) in front of the hostage he planned to let go? (Or at least not kill)
No worries.Doesn't hurt to ask.
Damn; the good cop was actually the bad cop...
Seth knew what was going to happen.
He didn't just let it happened. He planned it to get rid of a liability.
🏆CLARK SUPERMAN🏆
This or the blood bath at Kahuna Burger if Richie made that Burger run?

Hard fail Tarantino. They flashed the images of what happened to the hostage so quick that you can't even flash freeze it to see.
