He was still on the show ER as Dr Ross while he filmed his scenes for From Dusk Til Dawn, One Fine Day and Batman and Robin all still on the show but left ER in 1999 to become main stream movie actor.
I love how Seth and Jacob don’t like each other, but are willing to put their differences aside to fight a common enemy. In this case, vampires. I also love Seth’s speech to Jacob about how he’s their best chance against the vamps, and how Jacob accepts that responsibility. Plus, there’s something funny about Jacob censoring himself.

It’s a handgun. .44 magnum smith and Wesson 629 double action 4 inch barrel. A box of 50 .44 magnum shells can easily fit inside a coat pocket. Another 50 in the opposite pocket. Not saying that’s how many he has but it’s not hard to carry a lot of handgun rounds at once. If it was an ar 15 he kept pulling magazine after magazine then that would be weird. This not so much if you’ve ever carried a revolver before.

You have to love how much Harvey Keitel pulls back in this movie. We've seen him able to steal the show when Sam Jackson is in the room in Pulp Fiction, but here he pulls back and lets Clooney be that guy and gives him all the support he needs.
An iconic character for sure and one of many unlikely badass characters like the Frog Brothers (who are no doubt how the Gecko brothers got their name), Ash Williams, Jack Burton, Shaun and Ed. And also I remember hearing Clooney kept the hair-style and tattoo afterwards.
