Also, would you say that Vaggie didn't tell Charlie about her past because she felt so much built for being an exterminator angel? Even if she was one for just a year before her betrayal, her hands were covered in blood, the fact that she changed her ways was because she couldn't stomach the thought of being worse than a sinner herself was already bad enough after getting kicked out of heaven, the other was finding the love of her life, a demon that loved her with the purest and sweetest of care, and having to tell her that she was part of the killings. She must have thought that their love would die if Charlie ever saw her as a heartless monster than what she loved back all those years ago.

You might save this for a possible Carmilla Carmine video, but when Vaggie says, "I'm not used to fighting with long hair," Carmilla immediately lets her hair down to give Vaggie a visual lesson.
That’s actually an interesting prediction, but I’m not sure if it would happen in the show. Carmilla is rough around the edges, but she comes off as someone who could have had a chance to go to heaven. It’s possible that Carmilla was a good person who had to do terrible things to protect those important to her and those actions are what got her in hell. Pretty sure though she would feel obligated to stay in hell for her daughters and those under her rule, regardless of what the future of the show goes in.
@@bluejjboy Eh I'd rather they didn't go that route with her. For one a twist just gets weaker if you keep doing it and it would kind of undermine what they have going with her, being a sinner, an arms dealer and an overlord but still having that noble trait of loyalty and self sacrifice heaven would probably deny a sinner could even have. Remember she was expecting to die against the angels, she was just trying to buy time for her daughters.
@@GeorgiaDowAlso I know you seldom reply but thank you so much for doing this analysis video on Vaggie. She’s easily one of my favorite characters in Hazbin Hotel.
Something I see people critizice is that her only role in the show is being Charlie's girlfriend...and while that is true, I think that she tries to hide how she truly is and her real nature due to how much she hates herself and her fear of dissapointing others, making of herself infront of others just an extension of Charlie and hope that her girlfriend makes her go unnoticed in the eyes of others. In short: she makes herself go unnoticed and doesn't allow herself to be how she is due to fear of rejection and self-hate.
That certainly jives with what Husk said about her in Ep. 4, and I honestly do trust Husk’s judgement most of the time. I do very much still believe that we need to see more of what Vaggie’s like without Charlie, though (and are the Exorcists former humans?? I need to know!)
agree, i think this is completely part of her seeing herself as a tool. She cannot have a personality, she has a job to do. And that makes for a clear character arc!
If you think about it, Charlie entered Vaggie's life at the exact moment she was stripped of everything: her home, her power, her goals, her entire identity except for her name. I think Charlie became Vaggie's home/power/goals... In that sense Vaggie's lack of a role or identity outside of "Charlie's girlfriend" seems less like a product of weak writing/characterization and more like a realistic unhealthy coping mechanism one might employ when faced with such tremendous loss and trauma.
Well her motivations outside of helping Charlie are made decently clear by Rosie and Carmilla. Outside of helping Charlie, she wants to redeem herself by saving sinners to make amends And Carmilla says she wanted revenge. While Vaggie definitely burry that, it does still come out at points with her hatred of heaven and how pushy she can be with forcing redemption. She wants to prove Adam and Lute wrong and defy heaven's black and white system. As soon as actually fighting back was put of the table, Carmilla had to remind her to focus on Charlie, hence Vaggie spared Lute. Vaggie is an interesting character with a multifaceted motivation. But all her motivations push her to similar ends and means, so her conflicts are never about her actions, but why she is taking them. Most Hazbin Hotel fans don't even pick up on this at all and think Vaggie is one note.
What do you mean? She was literally in Heaven! I know Lute ripped her wings off and gouged out her eye, but before that her life was literally heavenly.
@@catdogmousecheese it actually wasn't, and it shows when she tries to teach the others how to get along, she was a soldier, she was made to exterminate, nothing more nothing less, she's not a winner, she's a soldier angel
Agreed and although Vaggie was fortunate she found love and compassion in Charlie after she found her, the fact she didn’t disclose her dark past that she was an Extermination Angel and killed Charlie’s people for three years straight while they were in a relationship really resulted in Vaggie in this large baggage of guilt, hate, stress and regrets that she was afraid telling it upfront to her because she didn’t want to be rejected the by the only person she cared about. Even Rosie said it better myself regarding Vaggie’s relationship to Charlie: _"It can be difficult to admit to things you're not proud of, especially if those things hurt the ones you love. She f%!*ed up, sure. She's flawed. But, hey, who down here isn't? If there's anything I've learned, it's that words are cheap, but actions, they speak the truth."_
Charlie asking Husk to ensure Angel is safe and not necessarily force him back is a good step of growth for her character. Show’s pacing isn’t perfect but it has fantastic little character moments like this!
I think that was also a great moment of Charlie learning as Vaggie said, "aggressive kindness" she took control of the situation, thought it through, and made sure she didn't cause further harm to Angel
Can I just say that Vaggie is voiced by one of my favorite actresses, Stephanie Beatriz who voiced Mirabel Madrigal in _Encanto,_ Chimi in _Maya and the Three_ and Rosa Diaz from _Brooklyn Nine-Nine._ Even Vaggie’s still got some Rosa’s snarky and stern personality in some instances but has the compassion and warmth from Stephanie’s real personality and Mirabel.
Yep, she always refers the sinners as your people (whenever talking to Charlie), she never includes herself there (I just noticed when watching the show for the 3rd time, along with other details xd)
18:04 i don't think this was actually vaggie restraining herself and letting charlie deal with her dad herself, i think it was vaggie knowing that what lucifer was saying about heaven was true because vaggie used to be an angel, and trying not to openly react to that and give away her secret.
She must have been very ashamed about herself and her background as a former Exorcist. Even Husk said that Vaggie “judges everyone because she hates herself”. I love how she’s actually the very first person trying to redeem herself, and that she’s a fallen angel, and that her redemption is more subtle and hidden than the other characters, providing that sometimes you don’t need some grand gesture to say “I’m sorry”.
I think in this point she feels a little ashamed too. Three years ago she see the sinners like Lucifer, in fact more in a bad way than he. So she was able to kill so much people without mercy. Lucifers point remember her on this.
Vaggie had a serious glow up since the pilot and she’s by far my favorite character now. Still cry whenever I think I think about her line in the more than anything reprise. “And in the end, if it’s only me you saved-“ Also just, kinda tear up at the concept of an angel saying that to a demon
Something that just hit me: When Vaggie's singing in front of others, like in Happy Day in Hell or the finale, she has a sort of low, gruff voice. She has another softer, higher singing voice that she only uses twice: when she's sure she's alone in Whatever It Takes, and to Charlie in the reprise of More Than Anything. It's a vulnerable side of her, and Charlie's the only person she trusts enough to show it to.
My favorite little detail with vaggie is that originally all the exterminator angels' wings are black and white but when vaggie regains her wings after she's grown and changed with Charlie and the gang her wings are shades of grey.
I noticed that as well when i saw the end of out for love, i wondered why and then i remembered when adam said "the rules are black and white" and when emily and charlie said "the rules are shades of grey when u dont do as u say"
It would neat to see a video on Lute. It would be useful to understand how a person can follow Adam, who is obviously a narcissist to us but admirable to her.
@@PhantomQueenOneI don't think she's a narcissist in the disorder sense, I think she's indoctrinated. I think a deconstruction of Lute would approach politics more than the other videos
She seems to be more like a cult follower Radical in the beliefs of their "perfect" leader who can do no wrong She follows his ideologies out of a radical since of belief Given her statement that angels don't make mistakes despite the situation with Vaggie shows she is pretty out of sync with reality and instead uses violence to reinforce her ideals instead of making observations about the world. In other words, Sir Pentious is in danger!
A lot of people complain that Vaggie doesn’t really have an identity apart from Charlie, but given the context of episode six it makes perfect sense - she has developed a co-dependent relationship with Charlie that revolves around her guilt about her past: she so desperately wants to make up for her misdeeds that she has given up having a life apart from Charlie and her hotel project - behind that tough front, she’s driven by self-loathing and guilt! I wonder if anything has changed on this front after the events of episode eight? I guess we won’t know till season two…
(I always find it funny when people point out a character flaw like it's a bad thing) But yeah, I definitely hope, and expect that the co-dependency will be dealt with next season. That line vaggie says about what's the point of her definitely makes me think that Viv intentionally made it a flaw to solve.
She’s basically Anakin but she isn’t going to get a “villain” arc because I don’t think the writers understand how her actions are motivated by greed and hate(self hate is still hate).
@@AZDfox people are by default evil, just most people are too weak or too integrated into society to act in a way that makes them villains. Vaggie has good villain potential then because she is strong enough to be one and the only thing holding her to more agreeable morals is her connection to Charlie. Imagine if something happened to Charlie, and even better if Vaggie blamed herself for that thing. She’d fall into such a state of self hate and depression that she could commit terrible atrocities without much remorse. It would be very entertaining.
@@Logamer-tn6db character flaws are only bad if the author and other characters don't react to them/point them out. If a character flaw is used to make said character grow, its a great thing, but if its never commented on or dealt with it can make the character unlikeable.
Vaggie is such an overlooked character. I barely see any other fans of her, but she is such a powerful character and a realistic person. I wish the fandom would look more into her character, personality, and her trauma and past. She honestly deserves better from the fans AND from the cast in the show. ( There is so many moments of people just shoving her aside or making fun of her, it's honestly sad :< )
Vaggie's interactions with Carmilla are some of the most interesting to me. She and Carmilla are very much alike in that they'd do anything to protect those they love. That Vaggie gets the duet with her in the early episodes, before they've met, is a lovely bit of foreshadowing that pays off with "Out for Love". It's a fight ballet at that point, but they can see themselves in each other, and I think that's a lot of why Carmilla is willing to give up the angelic weapons. Also, I love that she's just like, "yeah, kinda figured you were an angel. You do look like the ones who've been coming down to kill us every year. But you're with Charlie, so it's cool." I'd love to see a video on the other overlords - I don't know if each has enough screen time to get their own, but they're all fascinating in different ways.
27:49 Not to mention that Charlie picked up on Rosies advice "Words are cheap, but actions speak the the truth". Giving Vaggie direct forgivness, she needed Nice insight on character and always props for the cosplay :D
I was waiting for this one! Vaggie is so underrated within the fandom but she really resonates with the sapphic community. Hope we can see more of her development and see her work out her co-dependence in season 2.
21:44 SOMEONE ELSE TALKED ABLUT ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCENES OMG But yeah I loved that Vaggie, even though she’s so scared of losing her relationship with Charlie (which is her safe space), she doesn’t even hesitate when Adam blackmails her. She’d rather run the risk of Charlie hating her for it and breaking up with her than sabotage her dream. Vaggie loves her so much and I love them so much AH
Vaggie's great, and manages to get so much better when you learn about her past and the tragedy she's had to deal with. Especially when you think about the hypocrisy of what made her end up stuck in hell.
She’s without a doubt one of my Top Five Favorite characters in the show and besides Sir Pentious and Angel Dust, she had the biggest character development and evolution in Season 1 as shown in Episode 3 and Episodes 6-8, particularly Episodes 6-7. On top of that Vaggie played by Stephanie Beatriz one of my favorite actresses and does an amazing job voicing her in the funny and emotional scenes and while she was singing.
I'd like Vaggie if they would go more into depth with her relationship with Charlie since we only really see it be romantic in the last two episodes. It would also be nice if we had an episode with Vaggie doing her own thing independent and unrelated from Charlie to understand her character a little bit better. This might be possible if prime allows the show to get more than 8 episodes next season.
Of all your cosplays, this is my new favorite. Vaggie is so underrated. As a caretaker myself, I relate to her in a lot of ways, and your analysis really helps me reflect on them and feel seen. I can't wait to see her development as the show goes on.
I think there's a certain amount of chasing the past in Vaggie's character as well. Her world was ripped away from her, rather literally, so she attaches herself almost instantly to Charlie, who's the most angelic person imaginable and a symbol of the purity Vaggie feels she's lost. Just as Vaggie was willing to do violence to serve Heaven--presumably justifying it as Adam did, by assuming a divine mandate--she's now willing to do violence to serve Charlie, which kind of suggests she's using the same logic that it's okay if she does it for Charlie's sake.
one more thing about Vaggie is that when she regrew her wings, it's shown to use that she can also then retract them whenever she wants but the most important thing we find out is that she refuses to retract them until after Charlie has seen them they're not a thing she wants to hide from her, she doesn't want to hide her angelic nature anymore from Charlie and it's one of the many actions she takes to prove to Charlie that Vaggie trusts her
If a caregivers secret desire is to have someone take care of them (as per the Charley video) does that mean that Charley and Vaggi are really perfect for each other?
I like to see them as; Charlie is Rapunzel and Vaggie is Cassandra (from Tangled series). You can really see it in some cases. Cass is the close-to-the-chest type and would soften only around Rapunzel because she's the only one that matters to her. Also, despite the first episode. I'm glad they didn't make Vaggie so uptight whenever Alastor is around like in most fanfictions. It would have been annoying if she were to keep stopping him from doing whatever goal he trying to pursue with Charlie. Would beat the purpose of their story.
Going from the abusive language with Adam (we can assume he treated her like he does lute) to the overwhelming love from Charlie might have made vaggie second guess the love she got from Charlie at some points because she had never been treated like that. In heaven she probably had very little control and wasn’t able to express many emotions so now she can have control and wants to protect Charlie’s emotions
There's one frame during the Welcome to Heaven sequence where Emily grabs Charlie's hand. And for that single moment Vaggie is looking down at their hands with a giant scowl.
I love Vaggie a ton!!! She fills the one role that is my kryptonite: tough and rough character has a soft spot for a total squishable sunny marshmallow (Charlie) I would love to see an analysis on some of the minor characters. Maybe not Cherri or Mimzy yet cause we saw little of them. But Vox, Val, Lute, Emily, Sera, Carmilla, Rosie
Rosie would also be an interesting one, how can a cannibal overlord still able to inforce peace in cannibal town? I’d figure everyone would be trying to eat everyone around them yet somehow they have a similar looking society like normal towns would have which I find interesting
17:45 I had different interpretation of this scene. Yours might be right, maybe mine as well, but I think that Vaggie looking away at mention of heaven not being carefree and open-minded, because she can't really disagree. She is from heaven, she knows they are not open-minded. She killed for that reason. She can't step in it, because she has no arguments against his claim, but she does not want to hurt Charlie, agreeing with Lucifer.
Yes! Vaggie's an interesting character. It makes sense why she lied to Charlie about being an angel for years. She was afraid she wouldn't be accepted.
I feel like Vaggie's show of mercy towards Lute was more an expression of how many issues she still has to work through. Namely in that her intent made it clear she hadn't yet shaken off the Wrath that was encouraged as an Exorcist.
It adds a whole layer to Vaggies aggression towards the tenant's redemption. Just a handful of years ago she would be slaughtering the Hazbins residents. In so many ways throughout she's fighting herself as well as for the others.
I wonder what type of person Lilith is. I have a feeling that she could be a pretty evil person with Charlie or Lucifer as her only emotional attachments.
Kinda wish you had included a bit more about the scene where Vaggie meets and spars with Carmilla to show how far someone is willing to go to make things right in Vaggie's situation, as well as some of her other insecurities. It would also have been a great opportunity to show how she finds greater clarity from Carmilla about her motivation and understanding of how to deal with the threat at hand and how that helps her development as a person / character.
My top three favorites are Alastor, Angel and Niffty, but if asked which character I'd want as a friend in real life? Vaggie, no hesitation.(It's helpful that I wouldn't have to worry about her literally eating me if she has a bad day. That's a top priority on my traits in a potential friend list.) She's strong, dependable and caring. I also can relate to her the most out of the cast in many little ways. It's why I loved the pure joy on her face when Adam died. She deserves to be happy after everything she's gone through. It must have been hard to be raised in a militant community like that, to have people you called sisters and a leader you were trained to worship and then to viciously lose it all in an instant because of one "misstep". To find that community was a lie. It's gratifying to see her find a new, truer community in the hotel staff and patrons. Well probably not Alastor, but the rest are good.
I have two ideas about Alastor One is he will be the final villain betrayaling everyone and making husk fight the others that he has grown close too. Or He will be the last sinner redeemed showing Charlies idealism to be well warranted and that yes anyone can change all they need is a little push.
Vaggie’s ’if I can’t help then what’s the point of being me’ hits hard ! I had an existential crisis after my dad died because caretaking was all I knew. I still feel like I’m doggie paddling with others to keep up but I’m so much healthier and happier now just living my own life.
5:02 Vaggie not wanting to disappoint Charlie, and being highly protective of her, I can relate to, and I also find it cute, dedication to loved ones is Important, to care for them, comfort them, and stay with then, sacrificing time with Friends or Family, to be with their Partner, is something I personally need myself, and I find it cute 10:08 The battle going on below is soooo funny in this heart felt moment, Sir Pentious on about I think Protecting a Kingdom, and Angel Dust quite literally saying *_"I blame you for this you crazy b i t c h"_*
I know most people who see me as Angel Dust and Charlie, but I always feel like Husk and Vaggie. I’m a caretaker (being the oldest in family and having to be a teacher) and often don’t tell my feelings and avoiding (unless it’s anonymous, like right now, lol). Why those characters are my favorite/relate to the most.
Oh my god the Vaggie style suits you SO well!! The color scheme really compliments you Also I think it's very interesting how Vaggie and Charlie are very similar as caretakers, putting others before yourself, just in two vastly different ways
I'm hoping Vaggie will get a "learn who I am without you" arc in season 2 that helps flesh her out more. I love her exasperated team mom energy with the rest of the cast.
I really like Vaggie, and this explains why. This checks so many of my boxes. Too bad I didn't have the recovery with my "Charlie", but I've learned a lot and am trying to ask for help more often.
Also, because the series is here on TH-cam and not so incredibly tied up in the "copyright" corporate monstrosity, she can go more in depth with things/allow the characters themselves to speak more via longer clips and being able to show more of the songs, and not have to worry about editing them and adding a warping effect to the clips of them she does show (which Georgia has to do to avoid the video getting taken down because of "copyright." The system is being over-abused and is out of control here on TH-cam).
I dont really like therapists since all the ones I've gone to only cared about their pay check for being my therapist I'm really glad that there is a therapist out there that actually care for the client and give helpful tips.
I genuinely like that your breakdown of Charlie and Vaggie’s reunion and reconciliation shares many points with what Rosie tells Charlie earlier in the episode. It tells me that the show really might know what it’s doing with Charlie and Vaggie’s relationship.
This was fascinating! As a caretaker, I find it really hard to give people space when they need it, as I always want to help and am hovering nearby with water or tissues. I'd also love to see a video on Rosie, as the scene where she gives Charlie relationship advice really stood out to me
Something else about Vaggie I don’t see people talk about much is how she seems to be living exclusively through other people. Especially Charlie. Like we see her supporting a lot, but she doesn’t seem to have much self identity beyond that. Largely I think she has so much self hatred and regret she doesn’t live her own life.
I really like Charlie's ability to just let things go, to evaluate the people around her and see what their 'intentions' are over anything that actually happens.
I am 2.5 minutes in and i feel like im in the chair getting therapy for my care taker codependency issues.......which i didnt even realize i had. why is this so good for me. how has this show and helluva boss lead to more psych healing from this channel than i got in the last 3 years of therapy with a direct in person therapist?!?!?!
I like how the psychologist first dresses up according to the character before the video. I saw some of her videos in Jack Horner, Husk, Sir Pentious (which I didn't realized first that his hat is also alive) and Alastor. She even changes her regular voice to Alastor. I'm impressed, I never saw a psychologist before that puts so much effort in such character analysis.
I do like the imagery of Charlie choosing to start the fight with a shield, like it makes sense for her character but think of it from the perspective of Vaggie. A shield is something that in her old life she never had nor knew she needed. I don't know if its intentional or not because sometimes coincidence does happen in writing but its fun to think about.
I'm gonna quote Gobber from HTTYD: if ya have to pick between a sword or shield, take the shield.. not only is a shield used for your protection it can bash someone to bits
And when Adam kills Sir Pentious she switches to the angelic pitchfork to go on the offensive against Adam. She is shying away from the nice optimist she is and is now embracing the violence to protect her friends and the hotel.
Something interesting i noticed about the the trust fall part is charlie kind of cheated The instructions were to share something vulnerable But charlie shared that "i love you guys. Like, really love you." And that's pretty well known among the group, so its a little less vulnerable
My favourite Vaggie moments are when she sings like in whatever it takes, and the brief reprisal of more than anything duet with Charlie. Also those moments where she sits back admiring Charlie with this love+lustful look in her eye lol. Also I absolutely love your Vaggie cosplay! They've all been great so far, but I feel like this one suits you so well it feels beyond! ❤
My favorite hint that Vaggie is not what she seems is when she says “your people” to Charlie. It might have been an oversight from the writers, but I think it’s too convenient that it be a slip. It was a deliberate hint for the keen observer.
YES!! I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!!! Also Vaggie looking away when Lucifer is talking about how horrible heaven and angels are is probably because she’s ashamed of the fact that she’s angel! And your Vaggie outfit is on POINT!!!
when vaggie is talking about bad at lying, i was thinking this was an aside that Charlie didn't hear. Loud enough for the audience, but no one in universe heard. Like a stage whisper (the actors pretend not to hear to help facilitate the story, and audience understanding)
I think the last episode really showed how much she’s changed and she’s more independent. She took charge of the battle. She got everyone prepared the day before and on the day of led the battle. She was confident and did not rely on Charlie.
I think it would be interesting to see a video on vox and his obsessive, controlling behaviour / traits. Especially when it comes to Alastor and his almost seemingly desire to be noticed or gain his attention, even despite their rivalry.
Apparently i have Charlies personality, but Vaggies caregiver personality. Im relating alot to Vaggie in this episode youve made for her, and mt self esteem IS tied to my competence or the 'weight' i pull in my relationships or with work even. I tend to spiral if ive made a mistake at work, or if im feeling too anxious about my SO and i. And then i dont talk to him cause i dotn want to burden him 🤦♀️

Vaggie is one of the characters that I really feel like i'm becoming and relate bit by bit but i'm not really sure for certain per-say...but I will say that I want to give kudos to Ms. Dow on her cosplay game with vaggie to nifty.
I've been waiting for this one. Vaggie has always been my favourite character ever since I first stumbled upon the Pilot a few years ago. My other favourite character since they continued this series is Lucifer, I can relate to him because of depression. Not sure how Vaggie won me over in the Pilot. I mean in the whole thing she was just grumpy to everyone, except for a some tender moments with Charlie. 'Guess I like the kinda underdog type of character, who would still speak up and go into protective mode for the people they care about.
Georgia! I was hoping you noticed (though maybe you did and just didn't bring it up) when Lucifer meets Vaggie he checks her for a Halo. He knows she is an angel.
Reading the comments I'm glad to see how many people appreciate Vaggie as a character. I feel she is way under talked about edit: forgot to add that shes my favorite character.
Hre tossing them of the roof was comedy gold, should look into She-ra and the princessse of power sometime that show has interesting relationships and characters with really messed up childhoods.

Outside of helping Charlie, she wants to redeem herself by saving sinners to make amends
And Carmilla says she wanted revenge.
Agreed, I feel like that's a feature, not a bug. We're seeing where Vaggie can grow, and it'll be awesome to watch her do so
Vaggie had to deal with A LOT before meeting Charlie
@@nicocapo63 exactly. And working under Adam certainly doesn't help the case
How do we know she didn't die then go to heaven@@nicocapo63
Charlie asking Husk to ensure Angel is safe and not necessarily force him back is a good step of growth for her character.
Show’s pacing isn’t perfect but it has fantastic little character moments like this!
I think that was also a great moment of Charlie learning as Vaggie said, "aggressive kindness" she took control of the situation, thought it through, and made sure she didn't cause further harm to Angel
Can I just say that Vaggie is voiced by one of my favorite actresses, Stephanie Beatriz who voiced Mirabel Madrigal in _Encanto,_ Chimi in _Maya and the Three_ and Rosa Diaz from _Brooklyn Nine-Nine._
Even Vaggie’s still got some Rosa’s snarky and stern personality in some instances but has the compassion and warmth from Stephanie’s real personality and Mirabel.
Omg! I knew Vaggie’s voice actress’s name was familiar! This is so cool that Vaggie and Mirabel r voiced by the same person
And batwoman in Catwoman: Hunted
Just noticed Vaggie said "your people." Cute detail.
Yep, she always refers the sinners as your people (whenever talking to Charlie), she never includes herself there (I just noticed when watching the show for the 3rd time, along with other details xd)
…ooooooooooooh
18:04 i don't think this was actually vaggie restraining herself and letting charlie deal with her dad herself, i think it was vaggie knowing that what lucifer was saying about heaven was true because vaggie used to be an angel, and trying not to openly react to that and give away her secret.
I agree with you on this one
Yep, I thought the same too, and she didn't say a word, like in the whole talk, cause she knows she's a bad liar
That's exactly what I though too!
Vaggie had a serious glow up since the pilot and she’s by far my favorite character now. Still cry whenever I think I think about her line in the more than anything reprise. “And in the end, if it’s only me you saved-“
Also just, kinda tear up at the concept of an angel saying that to a demon
Something that just hit me: When Vaggie's singing in front of others, like in Happy Day in Hell or the finale, she has a sort of low, gruff voice. She has another softer, higher singing voice that she only uses twice: when she's sure she's alone in Whatever It Takes, and to Charlie in the reprise of More Than Anything. It's a vulnerable side of her, and Charlie's the only person she trusts enough to show it to.
I think she puts a rough-persona mask in front of everyone that is not Charlie, that's why her actual singing voice is pretty high
This makes me wonder if her voice was higher pitched Mirabel Madrigal-style in her human life/ earlier stages of exorcist career
Did you notice that when Charlie was having her crying session, she was on Vaggie’s side of the bed?
Thanks for making me cry again 😭
My favorite little detail with vaggie is that originally all the exterminator angels' wings are black and white but when vaggie regains her wings after she's grown and changed with Charlie and the gang her wings are shades of grey.
I noticed that as well when i saw the end of out for love, i wondered why and then i remembered when adam said "the rules are black and white" and when emily and charlie said "the rules are shades of grey when u dont do as u say"
It would neat to see a video on Lute. It would be useful to understand how a person can follow Adam, who is obviously a narcissist to us but admirable to her.
Why wouldn't two narcissists be in cahoots?
@@PhantomQueenOneI don't think she's a narcissist in the disorder sense, I think she's indoctrinated. I think a deconstruction of Lute would approach politics more than the other videos
She seems to be more like a cult follower
Radical in the beliefs of their "perfect" leader who can do no wrong
She follows his ideologies out of a radical since of belief
Given her statement that angels don't make mistakes despite the situation with Vaggie shows she is pretty out of sync with reality and instead uses violence to reinforce her ideals instead of making observations about the world.
In other words, Sir Pentious is in danger!
Well, Lute is obviously an extremist!
I always thought of Lute as a tsundere. She acts like a sadistic badass but when Adam got stabbed she literally ripped off her arm to get to him.
I guess we won’t know till season two…
(I always find it funny when people point out a character flaw like it's a bad thing)
But yeah, I definitely hope, and expect that the co-dependency will be dealt with next season. That line vaggie says about what's the point of her definitely makes me think that Viv intentionally made it a flaw to solve.
She’s basically Anakin but she isn’t going to get a “villain” arc because I don’t think the writers understand how her actions are motivated by greed and hate(self hate is still hate).
@@FrankieWilliams-kx9gpwhy would those emotions have to result in a villain arc? Those are perfectly normal emotions that everyone experiences.
When Alastor is greeting Rosie, you can actually see Charlie in the background picking out the shrunken head for Vaggie.
Well I'm here, Vaggie is one of my most fav characters. She reminds me of Cassandra from Tangled the Series, I love her
Hey, we exist xd
There are fans of her, but there are more people that hate her, so they are more "heard", if that makes sense xd
She’s my favorite character so I’m here too lol.
Vaggie is my favorite character in the show. I am looking forward to seeing her grow more
Vaggie's interactions with Carmilla are some of the most interesting to me.
The first time I watched the finale, I was so distracted by the stabbing, I missed Vaggie's look of utter joy.
27:49 Not to mention that Charlie picked up on Rosies advice "Words are cheap, but actions speak the the truth". Giving Vaggie direct forgivness, she needed
Nice insight on character and always props for the cosplay :D
I was waiting for this one! Vaggie is so underrated within the fandom but she really resonates with the sapphic community. Hope we can see more of her development and see her work out her co-dependence in season 2.
Hi Cass! I love your videos!
Oh wow Cass, Nice to see you here. Love your videos.
enjoyed your reactions also thanks and cant wait for season 2 as well
Is there a special reason Vaggie resonates with the Sapphic community?
@@James-he7buWhat is the Sapphic community?
21:44 SOMEONE ELSE TALKED ABLUT ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCENES OMG
But yeah I loved that Vaggie, even though she’s so scared of losing her relationship with Charlie (which is her safe space), she doesn’t even hesitate when Adam blackmails her. She’d rather run the risk of Charlie hating her for it and breaking up with her than sabotage her dream.
Vaggie loves her so much and I love them so much AH
Honestly Vaggie is my favorite character, I feel like she’s very underrated
Edit: tysm for the likes
Vaggie's great, and manages to get so much better when you learn about her past and the tragedy she's had to deal with. Especially when you think about the hypocrisy of what made her end up stuck in hell.
She is. I’ve always loved her as a character more than I love Charlie, personally.
@@korahholl810 Vaggie is literally her Yin to Charlie’s Yang and I got to give praise to her actress Stephanie Beatriz.
Happy you found it knowledgable and hopefully helpful = ) Thank you for always supporting
She's so underrated.
I love how much she and Charlie care about each other.
I can relate too.
That's the cutest Vaggie cosplay I've seen! 😊
Next time add an eyepatch
@@veronicapiccinini7956 yeah, that's an integral part of her character!
@@veronicapiccinini7956 Nah, this is fine
I think there's a certain amount of chasing the past in Vaggie's character as well. Her world was ripped away from her, rather literally, so she attaches herself almost instantly to Charlie, who's the most angelic person imaginable and a symbol of the purity Vaggie feels she's lost. Just as Vaggie was willing to do violence to serve Heaven--presumably justifying it as Adam did, by assuming a divine mandate--she's now willing to do violence to serve Charlie, which kind of suggests she's using the same logic that it's okay if she does it for Charlie's sake.
one more thing about Vaggie is that when she regrew her wings, it's shown to use that she can also then retract them whenever she wants
but the most important thing we find out is that she refuses to retract them until after Charlie has seen them
they're not a thing she wants to hide from her, she doesn't want to hide her angelic nature anymore from Charlie and it's one of the many actions she takes to prove to Charlie that Vaggie trusts her
If a caregivers secret desire is to have someone take care of them (as per the Charley video) does that mean that Charley and Vaggi are really perfect for each other?
Wow it’s crazy I didn’t realize that Charlie’s compassion for all is similar to Vaggie’s compassion for her, even with their respective faults.
She fills the one role that is my kryptonite: tough and rough character has a soft spot for a total squishable sunny marshmallow (Charlie)
I would love to see an analysis on some of the minor characters. Maybe not Cherri or Mimzy yet cause we saw little of them. But Vox, Val, Lute, Emily, Sera, Carmilla, Rosie
I would love to see a short on Lute. Her relationship with Adam has to be complicated.
Grumpy x Sunshine is so good
Rosie would also be an interesting one, how can a cannibal overlord still able to inforce peace in cannibal town? I’d figure everyone would be trying to eat everyone around them yet somehow they have a similar looking society like normal towns would have which I find interesting
One scene I love is when Lucifer meets Vaggie and reaches to where her halo should be, he was looking for her halo
Wait, when?
@@daninb8939after their hug when he said "she's so pretty!"
In ep 5 when they first meet. He hugs her (probably checking for wings) and then looks about her head for a halo when Charlie is talking
I never noticed!
Half hour video just apprechiating Vaggies character. Is it Christmas already?
happy you are enjoying it !
18:03 I like how Vaggie let Charlie solo this situation by turning a *literal* blind eye towards it.
Vaggie may be different than Charlie but it's moments like 27:40 that makes you realize they're more alike than we think.
I doubt shes that attatched
Lilith is going to be trouble.
She’s probably the type of person that demands that everything be “free” and “liberating”… in her way
Kinda wish you had included a bit more about the scene where Vaggie meets and spars with Carmilla to show how far someone is willing to go to make things right in Vaggie's situation, as well as some of her other insecurities.
I have two ideas about Alastor
One is he will be the final villain betrayaling everyone and making husk fight the others that he has grown close too.
Or
He will be the last sinner redeemed showing Charlies idealism to be well warranted and that yes anyone can change all they need is a little push.
Vaggie’s ’if I can’t help then what’s the point of being me’ hits hard ! I had an existential crisis after my dad died because caretaking was all I knew. I still feel like I’m doggie paddling with others to keep up but I’m so much healthier and happier now just living my own life.
love the Vaggie breakdown
5:02
Vaggie not wanting to disappoint Charlie, and being highly protective of her, I can relate to, and I also find it cute, dedication to loved ones is Important, to care for them, comfort them, and stay with then, sacrificing time with Friends or Family, to be with their Partner, is something I personally need myself, and I find it cute
10:08
The battle going on below is soooo funny in this heart felt moment,
Sir Pentious on about I think Protecting a Kingdom, and Angel Dust quite literally saying *_"I blame you for this you crazy b i t c h"_*
I love that moment of joy when Adam grows a new protrusion.😂
I know most people who see me as Angel Dust and Charlie, but I always feel like Husk and Vaggie. I’m a caretaker (being the oldest in family and having to be a teacher) and often don’t tell my feelings and avoiding (unless it’s anonymous, like right now, lol). Why those characters are my favorite/relate to the most.
I am Angel and Charlie and my girl is Husk and Vaggie 🥰
Great analysis of Vaggie. Your video are a joy to watch.I have learned over time that “NO” is a full sentence.
Glad you enjoyed it! And love that you know No now =)))
Hard word to learn, that one
Oh my god the Vaggie style suits you SO well!!
The color scheme really compliments you
Also I think it's very interesting how Vaggie and Charlie are very similar as caretakers, putting others before yourself, just in two vastly different ways
Oh, and because Stephanie Beatriz is awesome.
You should analyze Helluva Boss characters, it’s a spinoff of Hazbin Hotel with more episodes
Ooo very much so! I’d love to see fizzirolli and asmodeus because they are such couple goals! 🥰

I'd also love to see a video on Rosie, as the scene where she gives Charlie relationship advice really stood out to me
I was wondering when we were going to get to Vaggie

Your wardrobe must be soo immense having a new outfit every episode, nothing but respect and thanks for the videos
What I learned from this video series: Hazbin Hotel, trauma on everyone's taste
I really like Charlie's ability to just let things go, to evaluate the people around her and see what their 'intentions' are over anything that actually happens.
This feels way too relatable and I don't now how to exactly feel about that.
I saw some of her videos in Jack Horner, Husk, Sir Pentious (which I didn't realized first
that his hat is also alive) and Alastor.
Something interesting i noticed about the the trust fall part is charlie kind of cheated
The instructions were to share something vulnerable
But charlie shared that "i love you guys. Like, really love you."
And that's pretty well known among the group, so its a little less vulnerable
If you’re interested could you look at psychology in the dragon prince? Specifically Claudia or Terry
YES OMG IM ON THE FIRST SEASON AND I KOEV TI SOVEVAT

I like that she cosplays each of the characters she covers theyre really cool.
I didnt notice vaggies face when adam got stabbed during my first watch through but i almost lost it when i finally did see it. Girl is so happy lmao
You could post 40 hazbin videos and I'd still eat them up
My favorite hint that Vaggie is not what she seems is when she says “your people” to Charlie.
It might have been an oversight from the writers, but I think it’s too convenient that it be a slip. It was a deliberate hint for the keen observer.
i learned this term the other day called "agapeic love" and i think it fits vaggie well
YES!! I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!!!
Also Vaggie looking away when Lucifer is talking about how horrible heaven and angels are is probably because she’s ashamed of the fact that she’s angel!
And your Vaggie outfit is on POINT!!!
As a recovering Caretaker, myself, Vaggie cuts deep for me.
when vaggie is talking about bad at lying, i was thinking this was an aside that Charlie didn't hear. Loud enough for the audience, but no one in universe heard. Like a stage whisper (the actors pretend not to hear to help facilitate the story, and audience understanding)
Another great character analysis from the Hazbin Hotel
I think the last episode really showed how much she’s changed and she’s more independent. She took charge of the battle. She got everyone prepared the day before and on the day of led the battle. She was confident and did not rely on Charlie.
I think it would be interesting to see a video on vox and his obsessive, controlling behaviour / traits. Especially when it comes to Alastor and his almost seemingly desire to be noticed or gain his attention, even despite their rivalry.
The cosplay this time looked way too cute
Apparently i have Charlies personality, but Vaggies caregiver personality.
Im relating alot to Vaggie in this episode youve made for her, and mt self esteem IS tied to my competence or the 'weight' i pull in my relationships or with work even.

Nifty sure got Adam swiftly.
All of your cosplays have been great but this one is just too cute ☺️ Vaggie is such a well written character, thanks for talking about her!
Georgia! I was hoping you noticed (though maybe you did and just didn't bring it up) when Lucifer meets Vaggie he checks her for a Halo. He knows she is an angel.
