THANK YOU! IT WORKED! But now I discovered the top portion of the inside of the gas tank is rusted. I neglected my 87, zx750r Ninja for 3 years (OUTSIDE). My fault. Looking for that video now. Hopefully it's a DIY : )
I used a few gallons of vinegar. The acid eats the rust. After your done use water with baking soda to neutralize the acid. Rinse good, then you can use a sealant inside the tank to keep it from rusting again.
Cab you make a video where you take apart the actuall cap and show the inside. I took it apart to clean and I can't remember how to put it back together.
i could'v used this video two weeks ago. I just cracked the outer part of the cap off then kinda just pried the center piece off bc I couldnt get it open. Now I'm stuck waiting for another gas cap
I'm looking to buy a 08 zx6j and the gas cap is stuck but I feel this is super helpful so I'll give this video to the guy and hope it works, thanks brother

Yes I believe you could drill out the lock or if you have the Vin number I'm sure that there's a lock Smith that could rekey it for you without a duplicate. I had a 1982 Honda 750 cb custom that I lost the only key to. Went to a honda dealership and gave them the Vin. 5 minutes had a new key. Cost me $35-45 up in pa
Thanks for the tip. I bent my key trying to open. I was afraid I would break it. One issue though; after loosening up and removing cap I noticed that some of the chemicals dropped into the tank, doesn't seem like plenty but I can tell because some of rust on piece of metal inside tank was removed. Will this damage engine e and should I siphon gas out and throw away? Would appreciate any feedback.
put the key in, drove a slender standard screwdriver in next to it with a hammer. slim but still large. The small one will break. Then I turned the screwdriver. Then I put on a keyless cap
It appears that you still need to be able to turn the key in order to get the assembly to come out, so I'm still at a loss because I can't get the key to turn. Any suggestions?

I suggest draining the fuel tank. Take off the fuel line and just drain it. Sorry for the delayed response

yo dude i have a 91 gsx600f katana and i lost the freakin key to the gas cap how do i get it off without the key?
ive used WD-40 and Deep Creep, still wont budge, do you have any other ideas?

I explained at 1:03 how to fix the key. Did you watch the whole video?
Use pb blaster, and smack the key with a hammer. You have to free up the tumbler inside the lock
