Freak me sideways i learned a lot from this video
I understand your point about TH-cam instruction… but I was able to go from a 120 golfer to a 90 golfer just from TH-cam (and a lot of range hours). It definitely has its drawbacks but if you commit yourself to learning the golf swing and figuring out what works for you, it can be extremely helpful. You do reach a point (probably where I’m at) where TH-cam has dininishing returns and you should seek out a pro for lessons
I learnt you can play good golf in your pajamas 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like how you call the viewers "gangbangers" 😂
Always learning creates greater confidentiality playa
@digs- it actually hurts you long term. if you go for lessons with ingrained bad habits, they take much longer to remove. i dont make the rules. they are undeniable. you were more helped by the range time and playing more golf.
now you have all the swing thoughts and poor fundamentals and a coach has to work them out of you slowly
Golf Sidekick the best golf IQ channel on YT that all amateurs should watch. ❤
BEST? I think you mean ONLY

He makes me feel very confidential.
The Baus has lifestyle advice couched in terms of golf! Golddust all through! ❤
yes, indeedi :) @@GolfSidekick
No word of a lie, I am a pretty rubbish 24 handicap golfer, and I've been shooting between 96 and 104 for a while, unable to get any improvement. I watched this last week or so, and have tried to incorporate it into my game, and today, for the first time ever, I shot 88 on a par 72. No jokes man. This kind of practical stuff... works. No nonsense about swing mechanics and all that, just played my own game, followed these rules, and voila... Over the moon! From one Saffer to another, thank you boet.
Agreed. I'm also a 24 handicap golfer, and I'm not great at course management. This video was perfect for that.
In the same boat now, will try these tips out, cheers for the comment
Consistently shot 100-105 till I seen this video.
Not kidding, didn't take my driver out, my biggest club was a 4 iron that I hit 175-185yrds
First round I shot a 88 and second round a 87.
This defo works.
What a playa, what a guy. Thanks for this!
Beast mode
13:37. Left edge of the green 😂
🍆 😂😂😂
Got me good lmao
g spot
Just the tip... of the green
came here to comment this lol
I have never broken 120, by the end of the year i will break 90 thanks to the Golf Sensei, wadaplaya
Even my wench laughed at the 13:37 of the target image. Very classy 😂😂 bravo 👏
waddawench
It's a ballsy move, no doubt.
Much respect for the Southern Hemisphere suit (shorts and long socks). Last seen in Australia in 1979 and missed by all
This guy is, legit, the best golf coach on YT.
Im just a youtuber, playa. Coaching is for crossfield
Such good advice. being someone who can hit it far 275-300 with the driver but accuracy is spotty, I tend to equate distance with scoring lower but really what I need to do is improve my course management. To be honest golf has always been about having fun, having beers, not taking ourselves seriously, and attempting "Hero" shots that really pile up the strokes when they don't pan out. I just got a launch monitor and decided to work on my game and this will be great out on the links. thanks for making these videos.
Broke 90 yesterday at PGA West Stadium course - didn’t use this particular method, but used your other strategies - avoided all bunkers and hazards. Had a few double bogeys, but the most pars I’ve ever had in a single round - shot an 87 and the wind was around 30mph. Hit the green on famous #17 (Alcatraz) and missed my birdie putt by about 2 inches for a tap in par.
I finally did it playas. Today I shot a 79 on my home course. Thank you gangbanger
“Don’t chase your losses”. Amazing advice.
These videos have been incredible. Started watching and in the past 3 round went 96, 92, 88. Haven't seen under 90 in too many years. Now I only carry a 3W (17), 4/5 hybrid (24), 7 (34), 9 (43), wedge (54), and a putter. Easy peasey.
Beast
I put my driver up for sale, it nearly went in the bin I can break 90 often but when I don't it's usually my driver thats killed my round, anyway its gone, I hit my 3 wood 245 carry in good uk conditions, more than enough for most courses near me. Played 9 today 2 birdies, 1 triple 1 double, shot 43 and it was the driver that did me on both those holes.
Don't give up on that driver... a 245 3 wood is massive... maybe just cuddle a few nights with your driver, sweet talk it.. it will come back..
get a lesson on driver
it can become a weapon. intorduce it to the course on wide open par 5 and long par 4
you'll get it boifriend
For me it depends on range time. My driver is the most inconsistent weapon in the bag. I need about 20 shots with it on the range to feel comfortable. If I don't get that I usually tee off with my 7 iron for the first couple of holes to get my swing situated. On the bright side it is my 188-200 club
Loved this video. Brilliant stuff. I’m feeling confidential for the season ahead!
Matt, Thanks for all your posts! Been able to lower scores and break personal bests because of your videos!
Best course management coaching channel hands down. The lingo is infectious... get more confidential on your distancays motherlovers! Broke 90 years ago so I'm still busy engraining the 15 laws for 15 hcp lesson into my game. One big eye opener (later confirmed by the shot scope watch I purchased) is that I need to be practicing my 5 feet putts a lot more.
GIT IT DONE!
God Bless you, Best Lithuanian Golf TH-camr!
So smooth
And calming
Loved the Kochenbolz graphic on the par-3.
Class.
Probably the best course management videos ever
thanks boet
🤜
‘Probably’ is unnecessary
Hi there. It’s fun to watch your videos. Your advice has so much value. I will your tactics and hopefully the 90 is in reach. Like your sa accent. 😊😊🇩🇪
Great video again! Have seen your break 90 Max 150, 175 and now 200 yards. As I am 75 now I will stick to 150 and 175, It works😊
Honestly think this is the most useful advice I've seen in one video. Can't wait to start implementing some of these, especially the putting and chipping!
It would be good to see you and Not-A-Scratch- Golfer collab again. Thanks for the great content, as always.
I just discovered your channel yesterday and have been bingeing since. I am a 50ish year old golfer of 25 years. At my peak, mid 80s scorer. Love your content and everyone, regardless of ability, can learn from this video. Subbed and look forward to a lot more bingeing and future content! Cheers!
Just watching this is relieving some of the stress I feel every time I play. Can’t wait to try it out today!
Amazing Video. Perfect explained🎉
13:35 thank you for that beautiful drawing
I am so happy someone else saw that.ahhahahah
New to this channel. Just love your no nonsense honest approach to golf. Keep it simple, still to your game plan and course management. Cheers mate.👍
I love you playa
Easy life
The quality of your videos has gotten so good playa. Loved this ❤
What I love about this channel is you’re out on the course instead of at a net working on mechanics constantly. I love moving on to the tactical/strategic part of the game. I’m already learning a ton! Rule #17 is one to live by.
That was brilliant. When I was trying to play years ago, I’d try to reach the green in two on par 5s using my three wood slicing badly, etc..
What a great commentary thank you
Love your channel. My boys will need to watch this to keep dropping strokes. I refer high school golfers to you all the time!
Great advice for all levels imho. Thanks for the tips
Unreal. For a guy whose lowest score is 91 with an average of 100 last season my aim this season is to break 90 and this, this has transformed my mentality. Great ethos!!
One of best videos you’ve done! I’d love to see a graphic of all the rules and laws at the end of the video!
good idea, maybe a pdf for each level of breaking 100/90/80
I read this as 'see a graphic of all the nudes' shut ur mouth!! :)
I came back after watching this video a week ago to say that I have never broke 90 before. Watched this video, broke 90 today. Actually got an 86 easily my best score ever by 6 strokes. Played to my strengths, excellent video!
I love watching your videos. Always giving me more knowledge about how to stay comfortable while playing to help shoot lower scores. Thanks!
I love you playa

@@GolfSidekick I will be feeling more confidential out there this year! Keep up the great work on the best course management and all round mental game content!!
So good to have you back on yourtube mate
Love it Matt, excellent video great content as always. Like the outfit mate
My stepdad always said…if you play for a bogey you’ll shoot 90 and throw in a par or 2 and now you’re at 88! Just found this guy on YT. love it!! This 16 handicapper is going to shoot in the 80s this week!
Been working on my swing this winter, would love to break 90 this year 🤞 Golf sidekick is the way ✊
You got this... jam those putts... 8or9 rolled close...
Another help is to play the appropriate tees for your game
always
Thanks a lot playa, just with my 5 wood hitted under 90,yesterday 89 and this morning 87(par 70) but really happy with the achivement, keep the good job my man!
Watched this last night before my round today. I’m usually a mid 90s shooter but I committed to the tips in this video and shot an 84! My lowest round ever! Absolutely delighted and was the most fun round I’ve played. Thanks playa!
Best golf tips on YT👏🏻
I have now played under 90 strokes twice in the last 2 weeks. In my opinion, your wonderful videos have played a big part in my performance. Thank you very much
thank you playa
and i agree, they definitely have
Wow great job with the Swing Tweaks integration. That was bad ass.
I missed a 6 footer yesterday and shot a 90. I’m almost there! Your videos are awesome🎉
So many important pearls on this lesson.
Thanks!
Started golfing last spring for the first time to join my friends. Became hooked very quickly and had some potential as I have played swinging sports my whole life. My goal last year was to break 100 which I did shooting a low of 92. This spring I set the goal of breaking 90 but with an added tool kit from binge watching Matty boom boom for a few weeks. Shot an 85 2 days ago using the shot shaving system in my 5th round of the season!! Matt is truly the king of course managing. There is a difference between swinging a club and “playing” golf. Feeling like a gamer now baby
As a horrible novice player (never broke 100) these tips are so logical and practical and rapid fire - love it, love it, love it!
My friend had the feeblest wishy washy looking swing and only seemed to hit his lomgest shots 150 yards but he had a decent short game and often chipped and 2 or 1 putted. He was a playa before youtube existed. Great stuff
I've used your system for four rounds. 102, 91, 92, 84 yesterday.. this is gold. Thank you
Well done man
With putting I imagine the graphic you had, has helped me heaps. The shut line from the ball to the hole. Kinda like playing golf on the pc 😂
Could listen all day, simplicity, I will try to hear your voice all through Saturday and the season onwards
Seriously good advice
Started golfing last year… fell into a lot of the mistakes you mentioned in this video. Chasing yards after mistakes as an example.
Golf sidekick videos are very helpful….
Fun!! I remember a guy stating doing everything (well almost) with the 7 iron. Kinda gives the same effect as your advice imho!
Graphic at 13:40 is something else!
Brilliant video
This commentary is spot-on. I am a 9 handicap who is capable of hitting the driver 330 yards or more but seldom hit it well enough to make that the right strategy. After many years of trying to smash every shot I now have used almost exactly the thoughts expressed in this video. It really does work. By hitting 4 or 5 irons (195-210 yds) off all the teres just last week I was sitting 1-over through seven holes. Yes, I messed up the last two holes but I was on the right track.
That +1 is the glimpse of your potential when you are able to stop being your own speed bump
@@GolfSidekick You are correct. One follow up comment. I played 9 holes Monday. I went to the range to prep and took the driver with me to try something. Hit it well enough that I changed my strategy from small-ball to driver and that cost me big. Hit it well but left and right on first four holes. Lost 4 shots due to this. Put it away after three holes and hit 5-iron the rest of the holes. Awesome ball=striking followed...every fairways and on or near each green. Shot +7 on first three holes, then 1-over next six holes and nearly made two birdies. I love this new approach and see the results for myself. Now I just have to stay the course. Thanks for the videos !!
Immutable Law #9: the biggest positive change in my swing and ball contact is not looking at the ball! I came upon that discovery just before I listened to Bob Rotella. Can confirm it works!
Years of wisdom distilled into a banging 18 minute gem!
Very enlightning video, and great tips too.
Shows how challenging it is to play 90 or under as club player regularly . This is my challenge too.
My weaknesses is that I love using 56 and 60 degrees for chipping. Its same like in tennis making the winning shots. Maybe should test this summer 9 iron too!
I focus atm on shots btw 60-120 yards shots, training them regularly diring the playing season. That game has indeed improved by repetitions. Meaning that you are able to get 60-70% of the shots into the green. The rest are closeby.
Surely how many puts you do makes the difference in the end.
Anyway, your advice on play strategy are surely worth while testing. 🙏.
This guy is gold
I love this dude!!!!
Great Video! Great new Hat!
Nice job!
Excellent video BAUS
That outfit!🫣😳
This is the real way to play the game and have fun.
Love the visualisation at 13:36. 😂
Church is in session.
Awomen
Shhh
Never new golf could be so easy. Makes the game look enjoyable.
Damn good video especially for us seasoned golfers who are losing power as we move into older years of life…
My life was a mess until I discovered my golf sidekick. Now I'm breaking 90 and it's easy life
Brilliant 👏
Legendary!
After returning to competitive golf after 20 years I could hit the bloody ball....... Been watching, and implimenting a lot of these stategies and so far have had 2 wins in the last 3 weeks!...Still not hitting like a Baus but making smarter decisions.
Thanks, Playa! Making sure to leave a like behind to help you with that dang algorithm.
Holy crap this worked. I haven't broken 90 since I broke my elbow in 2011. I just shot 86 after watching this video and my mind is blown.
Wanna know when spring is here, follow Matt. Better than a groundhog.
Thank you Playa. I've been struggling to break 90 despite my swing improving. Crushed it today with an 85. Playa way is the only way.
beast
This was very refreshing an everyday approach to golfing for the masses...
Sometimes you need a little finesse sometimes you need a lot of
As always, love the video, but "incontinence" had me in stitches! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I learned a lot from your video, do you mind if we Galileo sports
as a famous golf brand send you a golf hitting cage
this video's awesome... also... what on earth is going on with your cheer squad? haha. learnt alot from this video! :)
In the process of trying to break 90. Shoot low 90’s regularly.
Going to give this a shot, but my trouble is using a 200 yard club off the tee is just as erratic as my driver. I always seem to have a few that go OB and also have a lot of three putts.
you must always think BALL IN PLAY
if driver is fine for THAT hole, hit it
if a 175 yard or 150 yard club is good, use that
hit the best shot to get the ball in play in that very moment
its about confidence and feel
@@GolfSidekickBroke 90 for the first time after watching this!! Put what you said into practice and committed to it. Shot 86. Thank you 🙏
Love the video Stinky Winky
My new swing thought, “Calm down, stinky winky!”
Good words of wisdom keep Preaching
What is this course you’re playing here? Great channel btw!
