Dude you talk exactly the way I do in every day conversations and like the same stuff that's why I love your channels. I love the wholesomeness when you and your girlfriend go on adventures together you surprise her etc. A 2nd channel purely for adventures with your girlfriend would be good but obviously you Solo is superb too. I've watched a lot of Bald and bankrupt, Kurt Caz and now you and I think you're less of a scumbag to follow lmao you're naturally funny on your own and constantly talking to us which is great. Anyways Cheers from Nova Scotia. PS come to Canada, there are some wicked spots out east.
Been using a Peak Design bag as an everyday backpack for around a year now and it's held up great! It's got tons of room, and the way the top cover/flap is designed it can expand a lot to fit anything you pick up along the way or give you room to store a jacket even if your bag is super full already.
It would be awesome to hear about your TH-cam journey in detail! I've caught bits and pieces in your videos, but it would dope to hear you dive deeper-like your growth in subscribers and any tips you have for aspiring creators. Keep up the amazing work!
Bro, the people would definitely enjoy you doing a vlog about going to a Japanese gym, cooking a meal once in a while, etc. It might not be as interesting or exciting, but I still think people would enjoy it, and some content is better than no content 👍
I went to Europe for two weeks back in ‘06 and Paris was easily the worst place we visited. It’s dirty (nowhere near India tbf), the people are pompous assholes, and there’s scammers and pickpockets all over. Was not a fan. We also had a guy walk up to our group (all high school kids with chaperones so we weren’t acting up), ask if we’re American, then when we said ‘yes’ go ‘well fuck you 🖕🏻🖕🏻’ with the double birds. Place blows.
You’re so awesome!! My dream is to go to Japan! I watch TH-cam videos of people walking around Tokyo and places all the time, it’s so relaxing. Love watching your videos too of course 😊 thanks for your realness and sense of humor!
I did 3 months in southeast asia this spring and I felt the same way... obviously I'm very incredibly fortunate and privileged to have had the means to do so, but doing it on a shoestring budget meant lots of times it was was rough af/ not particularly fun and enjoyable. And ofc everything at home was in shambles, no career, friends relationships lol... did have incredible times and learn a lot, especially with being grateful for what I have in the US
@@smallbrainedpod dude i was literally solo motorbiking through vietnam when you went viral for exposing that cop 😂i was terrified I'd get pulled over and get turned into an example. Thanks for inspiring me to take the trip!
I was roughing it touring USA with my 2 dogs for 7 months and went back to frozen Midwest just to park in middle of my land with small camper or sleep at my moms small retirement home apartment. After 7 months living in a vehicle especially in So Cal where the homeless population has anyone without a fixed structure vilified and branded a pariah, just to go home to Midwest and sit in my own space was necessary after 7 months. However I did have an adventure. It was hard though. So I agree with what you say. It’s nice you are honest.
I just invested in a Rimowa Original cabin suitcase, and it’s really great. Posh brand aside: It’s the perfect size and fits as hand-luggage (pro tip: never check in your bag at outbound flights!). It is pretty expensive though, but it comes with a lifetime warranty and you can basically get it fixed in every country in the world!
Get in the archives, he has 6 go rillion videos. I really enjoy sorting from the oldest on either channel and watching the progress. Very interesting to me.
I found the feeling he describes with breaking out of his anxiety while traveling was relatable. Reason I moved to New York. I don't have to see anyone again if I don't want to
You should deffo go see the north of England and Scotland at least, generally the more northern you get the more friendlier the people are. Also would love to see you collab with britannica to do some more extreme tourism
Enjoying these, very relatable as I'm creating a similar type of content to yours. Authenticity always wins out brother! (Also enjoyed the comments on why you like the UK, hilarious as everything you mentioned typically casts us in a negative light 😂)
For those interested in the book question around 42:30 He is Dead right. This book really makes you believe you can escape the chains of exchanging money for time for the rest of your life.
25:32 to 25:45 You just described how I've always felt (even as a teenager). Roots, tradition, and family are everything. Travel for me has always been more about experiencing temporarily what I'm not, and would never really want to be. It's awesome to spend 3 months in Japan living like the Japanese but it's hard for me to understand someone wanting to BECOME Japanese...because to become Japanese means to break with your own roots, tradition, and ancestors. But like anything in life, people make decisions because the ideal choice is not always available. If you are born into a shitty family and you resent your family..becoming something different becomes vastly more appealing.
great episode man, only 14 minutes in.. have you ever thought of doing a reverse trip across the world? Japan to Ireland? or is it different now as you've gotten into your 30s, had some success, and found Sara(h)
Hey man. If you're ever in cairo, i'd love to meet up and show you around. TH-cam's inbox feature isnt there anymore but yeah reply to this or one of my other comments if you'd like to be shown around greater cairo and its boroughs. Love your videos!
When do you start with sponsor ads? You must have enough subs for that by now. I look forward to more adventures. How many languages can you speak? So far, I've heard English, Spanish, Japanese & Ukrainian. I'm guessing Korean...
Would you say your trips without any planning helped you make plans for subsequent trips? I feel like if I tried to plan a trip I'd have no idea what I was doing, and taking some balls to the wall adventures first would help me keep an outline in my head for future planned adventures.
I agree with your opinon on French people. They are very detached from the rest of the world, one example is that they don't want to speak English. Another is their lack of gratitude for America's help in WWII, as you pointed out. // A Dane
Bourdain has left us. But like Elijah leaving his cloak of responsibility with Elisha, you are the next one. Don't travel yourself to death like he did though. When the TH-cam channel/traveling stops being fun, stop. Live your best life and disappear.
If you ever decide to give India another shot, you should visit places like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kerala (South India is very different from North India), Himachal Pradesh and the northeast of India. It's always strange to me that foreigners decide to visit places like Varanasi, Bihar and Delhi over everything else. It's a misinformed decision.
Sometimes it appears that you walk right into situations that other TH-camrs would shy away from. Like asking where the most dangerous section of Tiuana is or entering a forbidden abandoned hotel in Japan. Dude, your Batman😊😊 What does your Mom think of your bravado??
26:20 + question...could be worth a series to ask immigrant ppl in america if they feel comfortably? in like have they a "homey" feel..not some poitical sh1tshow..or if they just have arraged themself with their current situation...asking ppl who been in the US and maybe have businesses or higher jobs
I can't believe you’d prefer people smiling to your face and trashing you behind your back over people just being honest, but I guess that's a cultural difference.
Wall Street with Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglass is unheard of by you until you read Vagabonding? Man, you are younger than you look. And I assumed Wall Street was iconic movie but obviously its generation gap.
Dude I enjoy your candid approach, but maybe learn a little WW2 history before claiming the US won the war for everyone lol. You may not realize there were other countries involved... and were fighting YEARS before the US decided to finally pull their collective thumbs out and stop by. I'm not disagreeing that the French can be pricks, just in general the whole "US won the WAR" thing. It's old, ignorant, and incorrect.
i would argue to skip osaka over kyoto. Kyoto has a lot of cool culture whereas Osaka just feels like a big city to me without much culture, outside of the food
@@smallbrainedpod 😂😂 love the content brother, just wanted to say how much I enjoyed Kyoto on my trip last year. Looking forward to your next adventure! (Your Myanmar videos are goated btw)
The weird thing about India is that it's the source of some pretty amazing spiritual texts, yoga, Hinduism, & Buddhism, and yet the society on a whole is so devoid of real morality. The treatment of women there is beyond belief. Absolute horror.
Came for the travel insights, stayed for the anti-french diatribe
As an Englishman I really enjoyed it too. If the French hate the Americans most, at number 2 is definitely the English! 😂
Until you brought this up, I didn't realize the French "America is racist" statements were common.
As a French Canadian, I loved that part as well
Yass here for that too. 👏
