@@elchichosantana6410 The whole shit is just a lesson. It's all just one big miscommunication. If they would all have just sat down and talked a few episodes in, they would have realized they all want the same thing. If they did that though, there would be no show lol.
Pat Morita did mostly comedy his entire career. He had to convince the studio execs he was the right guy for the role. This is one of the few scenes he gets to put his comedy chops to good use.
my favorite part l love how terry silver and kreese were laughing hysterically after getting their ass handed to them right now that is my favorite part what he laughing about they ass handed that is why I like that on Terry silver and kreese
@MassiveTism It probably wasn't them getting beaten up where they were laughing, it was because Daniel told them that Mr. Miyagi will be a memory and they won't and they laughed feeling that Daniel wouldn't stand a chance against Mike Barnes since Terry Silver hired Mike Barnes who is a champion especially at the end of the tournament Mike said to Daniel "your karate is sh-- and your teacher is nothing, he's a phony and fake and taught you nothing." But Terry and Kreese were wrong because Daniel showed Mike how he was able to win against him.
I know the stunt work probably isn’t as impressive as Cobra Kai’s, but check out the takedown Mr. Miyagi does on Kreese here. It’s multiple strikes, hitting the face and the legs back to back and just pummeling him with that elbow and knee combo. Mr. Miyagi would wipe the floor with anyone in the franchise, and I think that’s the point.
@British Randoms Studio that's what I sort of dislike about Miyagi. We are expected to act like Chozen, Silver, or Kreese are big threats, yet none of them get a single pure hit. I wish Silver got a hit of him only for Daniel to have a legitimate fear, because now he saw that Miyagi was hit by a Cobra Kai, making the whole, "Defense only" idea a fantasy, because if Miyagi got touched once by the leader of Cobra Kai, what does that mean for him.
In real life, Pat Morita (Mr miyagi) was actually a comedian and an actor in real life. And actually, he doesn’t know any form of karate or martial art. What an actor!
@@AB_3001 Who says you need to know karate to act, or act, to know karate, they're completely different, you get stunt men, for those sort of moves, all Pat had to do, was learn his lines!
LOL, I was thinking of posting that same thing! "Man, the balls on these guys, to be laughing in such a jolly manner after getting the shit kicked out of them!
@fourierthejunglist Well, i don't know about Trump, but Kreese and Silver clearly have some deeply rooted, psychological issues..... i.e. they're nuts!
@marty mcfly Ikr i mean getting caught once I understand happens to the best fighters however getting caught twice by making the same exact mistake that got you caught in the first place is just being stupid
"I'm going to open Cobra Kai dojos all over this valley. Hell, I might even teach for free." That's exactly what he did in the most recent Cobra Kai. The writers really did their homework. I'm impressed!
GAGAGAGAGA I just disliked my own face because I am unpretty. HOWEVER: I always like my GOOD videos however. No dislikes allowed where I come from. Don't be mean, dear darzj
It's literally not even a fair fight Okinawan karate is the original karate Japanese karate just took the striking part and left out all of the arm locks, throws and grappling that original karate had to offer this was in response to western boxing the Japanese wanted something like boxing so they took watered down karate but Okinawan karate was a full system a rounded martial art so the Kobra Kai guys would be fighting a master of this art with a diminished tool set 💀
@@ironsoul80 it's just typical Western Style of Karate. I think White people will never know, what real Karate as a Lifestyle is about and i say that as a white Guy. When you look at these fuckers in the clip, they and many of these idiots who are like theme looks at Karate like it's just another Fighting-Style from Asia. They just think it's about aggressive fighting, strike first and that stupid stuff. Karate and all the other Styles of fighting have nothing to do with being aggressive or offensive or coolness.
@Robert Koch! What about his soul coming from the grave? If that did happen his ghostal soul could help Daniel and his students do good Okinawan Karate. Maybe that fisherman Daniel saw might be connected to Mr. Miyagi.
Love how Silver and Kreese are laughing yet Barnes is just sitting there with the "how the hell did I just lose to him" dumbfounded look in his face lol
The fact that Terry says “you won’t even be a memory” and Daniel responding “yes he will” is amazing because then we see the memory of Mr Miyagi in Cobra Kai 👏🏻 the connection is great
There are no prime in martial arts, the older you get the stronger you become. Miyagi was yoda and silver darth maul. In cobra kai silver became palpatine but larusso is luke skywalker, and yoda is still yoda
@@mendezgalvez Horrible comparison. Cobra Kai is within reality. Star Wars makes up shit as it goes along, but not as much as shitty Dragon Ball Super.
@@humann5682 that wont ever happen because the actor is dead he would either have to be Completley CG which they dont have the budget for or would need to do the more practical thing and find someone with similiar physique height and head shape then give him tons of makeup

Miyagi: beats everyone in the room senseless Also Miyagi: mockingly let's his enemies know how stupid they looked as he did it. Kreese and friends: laugh to keep from crying
Not really. It's the guy who taught you everything you know. He knows Mr Miyagi is much better than him and has much to teach him. This just showed him how much there is to learn.
@@21mgny You're definitely right. By this point in his training he shouldn't be scared. I was teaching my own class of adults in martial arts at the age of 14 so I can understand fearing adults/people twice your size, but once you know how to properly defend yourself and control the fight why would you be scared at all. Most of the time, after the first day theyd see the difference in skill/speed and lose their attitude and learn to respect you. Danny just needs to be confident and realize size is irrelevant when you have skill and control. Bruce Lee was super short, but most tall people have terrible balance, accuracy, speed and bone density so being short can be a huge advantage if you actually know how to fight. Sure, it won't work in boxing where you only use your arms, but why even fight with only half of your body when you could be utilizing all of it... I forgot what the point of this was but Danny shouldve had more confidence in this movie! I was fighting 3 on 1 like Mr. Miyagi when I was a kid, except all 3 were allowed to attack at once, instead of attacking one at a time and making it easy ;) Danny couldnt even beat one of them hahaha.
@@georockmann7113 I love the Karate Kid series and Cobra Kai also, but the central premise of a 50 something mans (Johnny) life ruined because of a 2nd place finish in a Karate tournament 30 something years ago is hilarious, but I just suspend my reality and enjoy it.
It's crazy cause Kreese was mid 40s and Ralph was 28!!! in real life. 28 (damn near a fighter's prime) beats the shit out of any dude in his mid forties a vast majority of the time. It super weird to realize Macchio was 23 to 24 years old in the first one.
@@Gotchism4Life LOL even when I was 17 years old and saw this movie when it first came out, I thought "gee, this isnt normal behavior for grown adults".
They nerfed him throughout the movies, by Karate kid 3 he should’ve been able to at the very least b competitive around Barnes, instead he just gets destroyed
Man I love Terry Silver as a villain he is such a psychopath I love it, really hope he comes back for season 4 of Cobra Kai. *Even though he said he quit acting he should do it.*
His look is "I don't underestimate you as a threat but I'm ready to defend myself. I will not lose." It's the lack of egotism that allows him to take his time, play defense and await the right opening.
@@MichaelKeaveneyTH-cam actually height does not help & knowing your using a wii character for a profile picture definitely shows you’re age lol, some people learn to control the body movement
@@StationBravo It absolutely helps. Taller people are commonly stronger than smaller people. I have acted respectfully in this. Insulting someone by saying they’re a certain age doesn’t speak well for your maturity.
There’s a reason Chozen is the only person who ever landed a successful hit on Miyagi. And that’s because he was trained in the same style of karate as Miyagi and Sato.
Fun fact: Pat Morita (Mr Miyagi) never actually knew any karate or martial arts. He died 15 years ago. He is an amazing actor and comedian (which he was in real life).
@Robert Koch! Oh yeah that guy too and the actor who plays Johnny Lawrence in part 1 and Cobra Kai has a martial arts background also I guess, not the same level though I don't think
80's movie writing at it's best. "We need the lights off for a more badass feel" "well we can't just turn them off that would make it weak" "Lets throw a kid into them" "Yeah" "fuck yeah"
Does anybody else find it amazing to see new comments pour into videos like these when a season of Cobra Kai comes out? It's refreshing and puts a smile on my face to see the fandom really appreciate shows like these. We're truly lucky to have creators to rekindle this franchise.
@@tronovonflidder775 Sure, but Yoda was patterned off the Wise Asian Sensei trope that Miyagi personifies-- although Yoda spoke with German syntax :P (Nah, I'm not taking it seriously, just joking with you guys.)
@@Nathan_Jay we would see the super Saiyan Blue version of gogeta from a miyagi and shaggy fusion and they would have a hockey like red hair shanks but you just look at you and you would want to chill
Real Defeat is not to get up and fight again after a defeat?! ... Oh, right, there's a Netflix Series out to confirm the No Defeat slogan & continue their eternal feud and hopefully their defeat. .. :)
I feel like Daniel should have made more of the events of Karate Kid 3 in Cobra Kai. Like "Hey Kreese, remember when you were well into your forties and you hid for a ridiculously long time behind a cardboard cutout so you could frighten a teenager?"
Also when Daniel was trying to reason with Johnny not to work with Kreese, he should have mentioned that the guy once set off his psychopathic toxic waste billionaire on Daniel. That might have had more effect than just “don’t you remember he tried to choke you”.
@@lanalu9738 Johnny didn't know Terry Silver and both Daniel and Johnny never believed anything that the other guy said. Johnny would have never believed Daniel over something he had no knowledge of
See how Mr Miyagi never struck first. Legend Edit: You know, I would say thx and that I never had this much likes on a comment (which is true) but I deserve those likes 😁
I mean in order to strike first you have to actually make a connection with what you're trying to hit, so technically speaking Mr. Miyagi while not throwing the first punch or starting the fight did strike first.
It is like he waits for his opponent to attack, blocks the attack or moves out of the way, and the opponent immediately after the failed attack is in a poor/vulnerable position. Miyagi then uses skill and speed to counter attack before the opponent has a chance to reposition himself.
@COOKIE ZOMBIE they won’t do that they’ve already geared up for a season 4 so it looks like season 3 will end on a cliffhanger that will affect all the characters and I think terry silver might get what he wanted and he’ll open up dojo’s all over Hollywood which is where cobra Kai is I think basing off larusso north Hollywood

Fight scenes are played by Fumio Demura, japanese master of karate. He was Pat Morita's martial arts stunt double in the first, third and fourth Karate Kid films.
@@MH-ub4te the original comment stands though Pat's facial expressions, line deliveries, and physical presence sell it all even without Demura's great physicality. They both combined to make Miyagi a legend, but there is a reason Morita was Oscar nominated for this role.

Daniel was weaker in this movie than in KK2 because he was off his center here. Terry Silver mentally handicapped Daniel in this movie. The whole point of Miyagi Do Karate is to be on your center, and Daniel wasn't on this movie until he beat Mike Barnes.

No but really, look at it this way. In season 1's finale at the tournament, there's a poster of Daniel, but none of Johnny. Cobra Kai was forgotten by the tournament, Miyagi Do wasn't.
Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver) is so close to breaking character at 2:28 and laughing. I love those little moments when you can tell the actors were having fun making the picture.
Damn, he was struggling. Still, respect to him for making the effort to remain professional through the scene. I didn't really notice it since I haven't seen this movie in a long time. RIP Mr. Pat Morita. NOBODY else could play Miyagi. I don't see how it would work with a different actor. He even spoofed the famous character in a few TV commercials. His little giggle worked too. Even if it wasn’t in the script. Just goes to show how fucked up silver was in the head. Not to mention his crazy high pitch laugh right after
Mr. Miyagi is such a badass guy he did not even let them touch him but the funny part is they could not even hit an old man Mr. Miyagi will always be a Legend to All of us!
I know that they are both dead, but I would like to see Mr Miyagi team up with his old friend Sato against Silver and Kreese. Both of them remind me of the old school Okinawan karate masters.
As a kid of the 80's, I can remember Miyagi's name came up on schools everywhere for at least a decade. We didn't need Apps or social media to tutor us. Movies were our masters, and Miyagi was one of a kind.

@@zillion914 I watched the scene. Sure looked like it to me. Nothing honorable in that. But that's usually how fights go these days, as it's now acceptable to jump in so I guess it had to reflect reality.
Karate Kid III is so underrated. Very happy to see Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver) back on the Cobra Kai series, and I love that the series even playfully pokes fun at his way over-the-top insanity on full display in this film. The S4 finale was terrific; sets up nicely for an interesting fifth season!

@@ArcanumAscent LOL well, okay. It's underrated in my personal view. I agree that it is NOT a good film, but...I'd argue that Thomas Ian Griffith makes it worth the watch.
@@iluvmylovebirdandmybudgiet7729 And hey -- that's fine. I'm sure there are plenty of other films I like that the directors of those films don't think too fondly of. You like what you like, right? Again, I'm not going to sit here and argue that KK3 is high art, or even a good film, objectively speaking. I just enjoy it for what it is, and I think that Thomas Ian Griffith is pretty perfect in the role of crazy Terry Silver.
My problem was it seemed confused pointless in its purpose. The opening 10 minutes you see Kreese wandering around homeless almost like the writers wanted you to feel sorry for him. Instead, he decides to spend the film with his Nam buddy trying to get revenge on a 17 year old. The needed something more.
Yeah, especially in this movie. Daniel is useless at karate and Miyagi always has to do everything for him until the very end where he finally does something.
@@cm-ih1jbbro, and that's it, he leans on his own ego and personality instead of a sense of discipline to improve his strength physically and mentally to develop his Karate better for future battles. It's always a last minute win by some miracle.
Because instead of spending time to improve his skills and conditioning. Daniel spent his time cherry picking Californian and Okinawan girls and lusting on them. If I am an All Valley champ. I will rest for 2 weeks then. Will do strength and conditioning for months then karate training 3 months before the tourney. Then I will be ready to kick any challengers ass. Danny was a lazy bum.
The reason why Miguel improve so fast because he trained harder than Loser Larusso. Miguel run hills and do pushups to make his body more competitive and strong.
He gets better, just every movie his opponent is a little better than the last. His first opponent was Johnny, a two-time All-Valley karate champion. Daniel eventually got better than him, but then had to fight Chozen in the next movie, who had been raised in Okinawa and been doing traditional karate (the same style Mr. Miyagi used) since he was born. Daniel eventually beat him, but then had to fight Mike Barnes in the third movie, who was some sort of national karate champion and the most feared competitor in the country (which is why Kreese and Silver hired him--they not only wanted to beat Daniel, but to torture and humiliate him). If you watch the movie, Daniel does just fine against Barnes' henchmen, but whenever he has to fight Barnes he just isn't good enough. And when you think about it, by the end of Karate Kid 3 only like two years have passed since Daniel first started training with Mr. Miyagi, which isn't really a lot of time to master the art. The only conclusion I can come to is that Mr. Miyagi was just so good at karate he could make incredibly skilled, younger, more athletic fighters look like amateurs. Realistic? No. But definitely makes for good TV.
@@adamroque4395 It truly does work in some twisted way for the scene. Right after "Cut!" was yelled I'll bet he was dying from laughter though. Pat Morita was probably cracking up too.
after watching the new season of Cobra Kai, and after Chozen's secret reveal to Daniel... I finally get it... Mr Miyagi is holding back in this scene, and could literally kill them if he wanted to. Edit : Damn, some of yall really bitter as fuck here. chill the fuck out, its a harmless comment
Yes and if you can see. All Mr. Miyagi beaten up from 1 to 3 was paralyzed and cant retaliate because Mr. Miyagi knows what parr of the body when you get hit you cant get up or fight back.
Also remember, Mr. Miyagi was a war hero,a decorated WWII veteran of the 442nd Infantry Regiment. The men of the 442nd are legendary, they call them the ''Purple Heart Batallion'' because they have the highest number of decorated soldiers in WWII.
You cant even give enough credit to Thomas Ian Griffith for making Pat Morita looking so good in this Fight. You can really see (also in Cobra Kai) what a very talented Martial Artist he is also in real life. Rest in Peace Mr. Noriyuki Morita.
Not really. True Griffith is a black belt in taekwondo but that is hardly a monumental achievement of its own as there are literally millions of black belts in that art. He has literally no accolades in competitive taekwondo in either sparring or forms in any organization and has zero credits in the fight choreography of this film.
I think the point is that he lends athleticism and a basic to intermediate knowledge of honest martial arts to a scene and actor who has no martial arts experience that did mostly TV comedy in the 1970s.
What’s awesome is how Miyagi’s moves are always defensive, he redirects his opponents force back to them self. It’s why he’s so calm and doesn’t use up his own energy.

Explaining Terry's on Cocaine makes so much sense now
“HELL I MIGHT EVEN TEACH FOR FREE” gets me every time. Sounds like such a rich psychopath
What's funny is that Daniel teaches for free.
I mean he kinda is a rich physcopath who is bout to start branches of cobra kai's all over America.
That’s exactly what he is
Lol the look on Barne's face at 2:38 says "Wtf did I get myself into, these guys are absolutely batshit insane!"
Miyagi: beats everyone in the room senseless
Also Miyagi: mockingly let's his enemies know how stupid they looked as he did it.
Kreese and friends: laugh to keep from crying
Laughing at their own Idiot Failures.
Kreese and friends open free dojo’s all over valley to project that it was all part of their plan => Kreese goes bankrupt and homeless for 30 years
They're like Loki, always ment to lose so that others can Grow.
@@magnusbrzenk447 that's not what happened lol
@@mikea2410 Exacly. He is saying that it didn’t happen and that Kreese lost and got homeless
It must be extremely frustrating for Daniel to continually get his ass kicked by someone just to watch Mr. Miyagi dismantle that same guy with ease
Not really. It's the guy who taught you everything you know. He knows Mr Miyagi is much better than him and has much to teach him. This just showed him how much there is to learn.
This is a kinda stupid comment lmao. You're obviously not gonna be as good as someone who's practiced something decades more than you
Well thats why he is the sensei hahaha
Yea but why was Daniel a scared bitch by the 3rd movie? After all the wars he got into? Look at 00:05
@@21mgny You're definitely right.
“I’m gonna open Cobra Kai dojos all over this valley!”
And he would’ve gotten away with it too if it wasn’t for those meddling kids.
Ok Scooby-Doo
You mean "meddling" kids.
😂
Imagine being Kreese's age and you're hiding in the shadows to jump out and scare a teenager.
On first viewing I was like WTF when he popped out of nowhere. Woke somebody up in the process.
Fr. That guys a war veteran and he takes this much time out of his day just to pick on a teen
That is called reliving ur childhood
@@georockmann7113 I love the Karate Kid series and Cobra Kai also, but the central premise of a 50 something mans (Johnny) life ruined because of a 2nd place finish in a Karate tournament 30 something years ago is hilarious, but I just suspend my reality and enjoy it.
I don't know if im correct, but in the karate kid daniel was around 20 but looked like a teenager. I think.
Am I the only person who found it bizarre that 40 year olds had nothing better to do than to terrorize a teenager?
It's an 80s flick man the plots never made sense
It's crazy cause Kreese was mid 40s and Ralph was 28!!! in real life. 28 (damn near a fighter's prime) beats the shit out of any dude in his mid forties a vast majority of the time.
It super weird to realize Macchio was 23 to 24 years old in the first one.
Chris Hansen wants Silver and Kreese to take a seat.
@@Gotchism4Life LOL even when I was 17 years old and saw this movie when it first came out, I thought "gee, this isnt normal behavior for grown adults".
In all fairness, the guy playing Silver is a year older than the guy playing Daniel. Who are only a few years older than Mike Barnes!
Often overlooked in this series is the fact that Daniel gets his ass kicked in 85% of the fights he gets in
@Paul but he wins in end.but now in cobra Kai he wins alot more
They nerfed him throughout the movies, by Karate kid 3 he should’ve been able to at the very least b competitive around Barnes, instead he just gets destroyed
Often overlooked in this series is the fact that Ralph Macchio can't act.

Who else feels that although Daniel's character developed his karate didn't, Miyagi always has to come save him in the side missions?
