I can't tell you how many times I played this CD when it came out. They opened for Thom Yorke (still don't know who he was) and when Ours was done I walked out as everyone was still walking in.
i agree . i remember i heard this song in a HMV store in 2001 and i asked the girl working what it was and she showed me the CD and i bought it . went home listened to it and fell in love with the album . every track is awesome ! 20 years later its still awesome
maybe not the very last track, that one is meh... I always thought it would have been better if the closing song to that album were "Meet Me in the Tower" instead.
@@troysuza2065 they had this video repeated on 1 single program on Mtv (not exactly much use) but their biggest issue was having a crappy label at the time (Dreamworks) so their second album went almost completely unnoticed and it took way too long for their 3rd to come out, by then it was like starting from scratch.
I gave up on the world who gave up on me. I get it. Distorted Lullabies is still one of my favorite albums in this genre, and I found it by accident. Sometimes the music world just drowns out the magic, and not every band wants to churn on forever. 🖤
The fact that they/Jimmy just dropped a new album two days ago, over 20 years after DL, is incredible. Sounds as good as ever btw. Everyone reading this do yourselves a favor and check it out. Oh, go listen to Precious and Misery while you're at it
everytime Ours dropped a record I had to retroactively find it because they were a band that just got no hype. I don't get it... what a phenomenal group!
Fun fact: Met Jimmy at Bogarts in Cincinnati after a show. He was touring with Filter and Opiate For The Masses. His first time seeing an OURS tattoo was on me. It's on my spine, and I got it over 20 years ago.
Fun fact: He got heckled on stage once Jeff Buckley died, with people yelling "There's a dead man on stage!" because of his likeliness to Buckley in both voice and looks.
this song was one of my very favorites when it first came out. i couldn't stop listening to it over and over again. now it reminds me of that time in my life. bittersweet, and beautiful.
Haven't heard this song in about 12-13 years. Loved it when I was younger. I still do at age 25 . I can't get it out of my head!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a great song:)

Saw them opening for Peter Murphy playing Bauhaus on July 26, 2013 in Los Angeles - was blown away how good these guys are! Everything was just top notch - sound, image, music! My new favorite band!
Here . . . *18 years now* !! Played a good 330 days a year ... *I promise to do better in 2020* !! *THE* Daniel Victor, *Never Ending White Lights* helped myself & an amass of others find Jimmy so many years ago. Ever and 4ever thankful for their friendship & for their genius ways.
Wrong. He's Jimmy Gnecco. He is his own person and his own unique talent that is beyond what anyone else is or will be. He's not a combination of people (or vocal similarities) all wrapped into one; he is just himself, and he has a voice that is untouchable.
I remember in my teenage years working at Target in the electronics department and all the TVs displayed was always playing this music video, good times.
I absolutely love love love love this band!!! It's an amazing sound and Jimmy Gnecco has an amazing voice!!! I first saw the sometimes video and I fell in love! Reading these comments about them getting boo'ed off stage at a MM concert is saddening that these MM fans (the ones booing of course) don't have the decency to respect different types of sounds and music. After reading about Jimmy's retaliation, makes me love them even more!
That's exactly where I first saw them too. The entire time I've been reading through comments, I've been wondering if that's where someone else might have discovered them too. I had forgotten about this song till I was browsing through a used cd store. Found one of their cds. Then I went to another one down the road, and they had this one. Of course I had to get it!!!
They did get some recognition, or at least Jimmy did. He did some songs for Metal Gear Rising. And they're damn good. He did the last boss' song: "It has to be this way". Hope to see more from them!
These guys are amazing to watch live. I didn't think I was going to have any reason to hang around at a show my friends dragged me to and I was completely spellbound. Why are they still opening for people with a quarter of the talent this band has?
love Jimmy Gnecco! Amazing excellent singer, great song. i consider him a friend. i had the honor of recording and playing with him. look up writteninstonerecord to find some more videos of him. Go Jimmy!
I first heard this group on a compilation handed out by a local record store for free. I'm a true believer on fate cause I love this song. Decades later still love it!!
yea dam, i had no clue about him until about a month ago and cant get enough of his music. I like all these old songs from his first album better then his new cd out now. He so freaking rocks. I have been missing out
This is not normally my kind of music, but I heard someone do a great version of one of their songs one night and decided to check them out. I love this guy's voice!
Jimmy has breathed life back into an exsistence I once had but lost. His music has allowed me to retrace my steps with eyes wide open and recapture the beauty I left behing. Hearthfelt gratitude.
I remember falling in love with this band many, many moons ago. so fortunate to see them in a small club and meet Jimmy. the one voice that could justly compare to Jeff Buckley.❤
saw them open for Manson way back in a small venue. my jaw was on the floor their entire set. to this day i have not seen a comparable vocal performance, nor will i ever forget it.
can't get enough of this song in 2024
Most underrated album of all time
Most underrated album, vocalist, song, everything of all time
An absolute tragedy the respect it got. I will forever ❤️ it.

@@trembling3674 brilliant album. Just played it randomly on my way home from rehearsal. Forgot how much I loved this album.
Absolutely. "Bleed" is my favorite song of all time
I will never understand why this band never got bigger.
I have a feeling something like this would bang nowadays big time
They aren't very interesting

This entire album was gold. Not even 1 filler song. It holds a special place in my heart....

They have a new song called that
maybe not the very last track, that one is meh... I always thought it would have been better if the closing song to that album were "Meet Me in the Tower" instead.
Me too... Every song ❤
"Why have I not heard this on the radio" is the mantra of every Ours fan.
Hey I remember seeing this video on MTV, so they made it but I guess they couldn't sustain the momentum

I must’ve been 7 years old.

whats crazy is he played a version of this song at my club in NJ in 1992/93!
If I ever make a movie, this will be in the soundtrack

Great idea

I will never understand why this isn't popular.
and i will never understand pop fans but we can't all be critics
Because AFI repackaged it for the Hot Topic eyeliner crowd, another example of ahead of it's time left in the dust
@@AllGamingStarred simple answer to this is that pop listeners are sheep and flock to the same recycled sound with different lyrics
it's pretty easy to understand : everybody wants pretty lies to forget about real feelings and reality
bad management, and a useless label (dreamworks)

The bridge of this song alone, is packed with more emotion than the last 1Ø years of pop music.

His voice is stunning.

I can't stop listening to this song and it's such an epic vid. He sounds so much like Jeff Buckley!

Thank you Rich Thomas, where ever you are, for showing me this band years ago. Still love them.
This “forgotten” song found me after 20ish years. The timing is impeccable, how could I forget. Listened multiple times daily since. Redefined.
This song is just so perfect, I can't.
