I remember watching Sochi Olympics back then and not really cheering for anyone specific but then I saw Yuzuru's short program and I was fckin blown away.
At the age of just 19, he first skated a flawless short program to Parisienne Walkways in the Team Event, then he was able to repeat a perfect skate in the individual event for which received 101.45 points. It was a World record, an Olympic record, and he became the first male skater who received more than 100 points in the SP. He won his first Olympic gold medal with a total score of 280.09 after he also won the free program segment as well. Four years later, after suffering a potentially career-ending injury just three months before the Olympic Games, he came back with a glorious short program to Ballade No. 1, which was another Olympic record (111.68). He landed a perfect 4S, a 3A and a 4T-3T combination, the last two jumping passes in the second half of the program. In his iconic Seimei free program he again landed four quadruples and showed magnificient skating skills, transitions throughout his program and in and out of his jumps (that 3A-lo-3S!), spins, performance and interpretation. He showed why he is the total package.
He won his second Olympic Gold medal and became the first male figure skater since 1952 to win back-to-back Olympic Gold medals. His two gorgeous gala programs, White Legend and Notte Stellata are the cherries on the top in this video. Thank you very much for sharing it!

He is one of those people that is born to be a performer. I watch a lot of other skaters but his program just hits different. It’s not only the technicalities but he has so much charisma on the rink and he performs like he is the best, it’s very entertaining
He’s just flawless. His passion for skating is clearly seen on his face and the way he flows with the music is phenomenal. He’s such a legend, perfection inside and out of skating. This is why we love our Yuzuru.

Watching Hanyu skating make it much harder to watch others’ because no one else can give you this kind of gorgeous, breathless beauty and tranquility, the elements that you just couldn’t find in any other skaters for some reason. I can watch his programs over and over without tiredness because of the unspeakable beauty in his skating. I don’t know if I would watch male figure skating any more without Hanyu in the competition.
Yuzuru Hanyu perfectly embodies the Olympic motto of "Faster, Higher, Stronger". In life as well as in sport, he is unstoppable, always striving to be a better person, always aiming to be the greatest athlete he can be. The fact he still competes after not one, but two Olympic gold medals in a sport that is so difficult to stay on top in, goes to show you how much higher, faster and stronger he wants to, and can, be. He improved so much from 2014 to 2018 in terms of both technique and performance skills. In addition, although I still think his Chopin was the best performance (without any mistake), his Seimei won my emotion.

He's just an inspiring person. He's been at the top of this sport for pretty much a decade, achieved every goal he's set and keeps reaching higher, keeps breaking his own world records, he's humble yet confident, has a brilliant analytical mind, is caring and supportive of everyone including his competition and crew workers.. I know there are a lot of great male skaters out there, but none of them move me as much as Yuzuru Hanyu! Such a stunning ice dancer! Brings tears to my eyes, such beautiful natural form and at one with the music always!
Yuzuru's Notte Stellata tribute has a special place in my heart. It is so beautifully performed. One of the jumps he does in it is a delayed single axel, but he jumps so high and far he looks like he's flying. Yuzuru is the man who can fly without needing wings.
Me too, I love every performance he did, but this one took my breath away and made my eyes moist . Even after the performance ,while thanking the audience,he still holds the swan-like postures, what a legend!
Yuzuru's choice of music and his unique interpretation of it, with every speck of his body, is like a poetical feast for the eyes. Original costumes for White Legend based on Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" and Notte Stellatta on Saint-Saëns "Swan" ballets made me feel like watching a classical dancer on ice. His subtle arms movements and facial expression together with perfected high technically skating level imprints an unforgettable experience of his unusual talent. I was not a fan of ice skating until I accidentally saw his video. How lovely and gracious he looks. I’m always moved to tears whenever I watch his performance. I could almost feel the failures, pain, hard work, pressure, passion and his perseverance to bring ice skating to a level almost nobody can imagine. Thou you already retired, the people will always remember you. I hope just like you, more and more people will pursue the career they want by giving their all. You are an inspiration for us all. I love the transitions so much - from the cheery and a bit cocky young man in Parisienne Walkways, to the raw emotion and impatience of Romeo and Juliet, to the speed and happiness of the White Legend, to the calm perfection of Chopin's Ballade, to the composed readiness of the first half and the emotion and strength of the second half of Seimei, and then - the gentle and soft Swan. This man is wonderful in every way, he is THE artist on ice.

yes, a few days ago he said that he will join in Olympic 2022, I super happy. Pyeongchang organized in 2018 but in 2019, I just started to follow him. I worried that he may retire before Olympic 2022 and so that means I will miss his precious moment. And Yuzuru said no with me haha, he will join in Olympic 2022. Sooooooooo excited!!!!!
As it draws ever nearer, I have found a different hope that leaves the word 'legacy' as an understatement and keep him safe. He should ignore the score essentially by not competing in the 'quad-competition' and just BLOW everyone away with Yuzuru the artist. He may not see the podium but it would set the world ablaze. *The* downside is that all of us will be grumbling about the scoring system for the next decade lol

He improved so much from 2014 to 2018 in terms of both technique and performance skills. In addition, although I still think his Chopin was the best performance (without any mistake), his Seimei won my emotion.
His SEIMEI in NHK Trophy 2015 was zero-error.

He's been at the top of this sport for pretty much a decade, achieved every goal he's set and keeps reaching higher, keeps breaking his own world records, he's humble yet confident, has a brilliant analytical mind, is caring and supportive of everyone including his competition and crew workers.. He just goes through life with incredible grace. I just miss Yuzuru so much ‘︿’

Yuzuru's Notte Stellata tribute has a special place in my heart. It is so beautifully performed. One of the jumps he does in it is a delayed single axel, but he jumps so high and far he looks like he's flying. Yuzuru is the man who can fly without needing wings.
Me too, I love every performance he did, but this one took my breath away and made my eyes moist .
Even after the performance ,while thanking the audience,he still holds the swan-like postures, what a legend!
Yuzuru's choice of music and his unique interpretation of it, with every speck of his body, is like a poetical feast for the eyes. Original costumes for White Legend based on Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" and Notte Stellatta on Saint-Saëns "Swan" ballets made me feel like watching a classical dancer on ice. His subtle arms movements and facial expression together with perfected high technically skating level imprints an unforgettable experience of his unusual talent. His facial expressions are literally on another level...I can definitely feel the emotions in his performances.
I was not a fan of ice skating until I accidentally saw his video. How lovely and gracious he looks. I’m always moved to tears whenever I watch his performance. I could almost feel the failures, pain, hard work, pressure, passion and his perseverance to bring ice skating to a level almost nobody can imagine. Thou you already retired, the people will always remember you. I hope just like you, more and more people will pursue the career they want by giving their all. You are an inspiration for us all. I love the transitions so much - from the cheery and a bit cocky young man in Parisienne Walkways, to the raw emotion and impatience of Romeo and Juliet, to the speed and happiness of the White Legend, to the calm perfection of Chopin's Ballade, to the composed readiness of the first half and the emotion and strength of the second half of Seimei, and then - the gentle and soft Swan. This man is wonderful in every way, he is THE artist on ice.

yes, a few days ago he said that he will join in Olympic 2022, I super happy. Pyeongchang organized in 2018 but in 2019, I just started to follow him. I worried that he may retire before Olympic 2022 and so that means I will miss his precious moment. And Yuzuru said no with me haha, he will join in Olympic 2022. Sooooooooo excited!!!!!
As it draws ever nearer, I have found a different hope that leaves the word 'legacy' as an understatement and keep him safe. He should ignore the score essentially by not competing in the 'quad-competition' and just BLOW everyone away with Yuzuru the artist. He may not see the podium but it would set the world ablaze. *The* downside is that all of us will be grumbling about the scoring system for the next decade lol
