  • In today's video I spruce up my staircase with a diy Faux Wood treatment with brown builders paper and a little wood glue. It's amazing what a little paint can do to freshen up a dingy space in your home. I hope this video will motivate you to tackle an area in your home that might be an eyesore...just like my staircase.
    I hope you enjoy the video.

    I did this in my hallway. Do not get the minwax for floors. You might think, this is a superior dedicated product, but it takes 30days to dry. We have toe marks, lol. The portion I did with regular minwax clear, is gorgeous. I used black paper. I'm doing my kitchen prep today. :) GL All!

      @AtHomeWithWillowBerry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Oohh. I bet the black looks really good. I thought about staining the paper but I was happy with the way the natural look turned out. Thanks for the advice on the minwax. Good to know. Thanks so much for watching.

      Thank you so much 😃 😊 I'm really happy with how they turned out. I had to go back and put rubber slip mats on the edges because they are really slippery but thankfully I was able to find clear mats so you can't even see them. I would definitely do this again. Thanks for being here and I hope you have a great day. 😊

      This was so interesting. I HAD to watch because I didn't believe the title. I am thi king you can do this to an old and worn table top or other kind of wood furniture. I was blown away how nice this looks. Great job!

    • @tonysvwaudiparts
      @tonysvwaudiparts 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@AtHomeWithWillowBerry so the thing with polyurethane is you choose your finish based on how slippery or shiny you want that surface to be. If you go with a satin finish, it's a little bit rougher, not as shiny. But it also doesn't slip as much. I have rental houses where I have done wood on the steps before that is stain and polyurethane. I always use satin on steps.
      By the way, thank you so much for doing this tutorial. I'm about to use some of the information you provided to do a paper bag floor on a kitchen in one of my rentals. I've never done it before, wish me luck!

    • @cassandra5984
      @cassandra5984 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1) The wetter paper is when you lay it, the darker it will be when it drys. 2) you can paint or dye the paper before laying it. 3) you can lay the bags with glue then use polyurethane floor stain to make it a darker color. Have fun!
