This is a monowheel.
It's most similar to a unicycle but you sit INSIDE the wheel.
Hunter Howell: My name is Hunter Howell. I'm an action sports athlete and enthusiast and ride all types of crazy machines. The monowheel is one crazy machine. You have lots of stuff going on. You have a throttle, you also have a brake. That combination you really have to mess with. You give it too much gas, it's going to ride up on you. You give it too much brake, it's going to want to dive. You lock the brake up completely, and you'll start spinning inside of it. You'll go upside down.

You could also use outer mirrors or cameras that project the picture in front of you on a special mirror or display in front of you in the middle.

I see two problems with this device
1 theres a wheel infront of you obscuring vision
2 hitting your head on the frame when coming out of a turn

I wonder if this would become an effective form of vehicle, because you're inside the wheel, so you have limited sight unless the wheel is thin enough to not bother your vision. Also, can it do downhill/uphill? sounds kind of dangerous. sjsjsk

No, ud be fine, called brakes and a transmission or a manual transmission and u don't even need brakes
@@richterman3962 nono you don't get it. It cant have brakes because it only touches the ground with the wheel. If you started braking down a hill and for eg fully locked the brakes then the whole thing (including you and the cockpit) would start rolling. you know what i mean? Theres no way to have brakes except if you have more parts touching the ground like putting your foot out or something.
Use your feet or avoid hills , good question tho
there are wheel calibration systems in cars.. why not use one of these on a monowheel to help the driver with braking and speeding without spinning over? Like aren't sagways using this tech already? I'm thinking of a version for broader use, not a stunt vehicle, maybe with a bigger wheel so one can sit comfortably without having to duck the head.

Umm.. So what is the stopping distance of this thing? Considering you can't break too hard without tipping forward, and rolling.
is it road legal? could it be made road legal? are there classes and licenses to ride these things? idk, the whole idea of these just going around the streets like a normal mode of transport just seems wicked, not just that but my parents said i'd have more chance of riding one of these sooner than riding an actual motorcycle because they really don't like the idea of me riding a motorcycle XD
