This is how you portray a true Good-aligned Druid. Someone who reveres all forms of natural life, whether that life belongs to a plant, an animal, or a person, all life is sacred and precious to them, and the choice to take a life is one not to be made lightly. To him, Life itself is the greatest treasure and gift bestowed by nature, not some religious idol or icon....especially when compared to the life of a child. That is where Kagha made her biggest mistake, viewing some idol, a mere lump of stone, as being more valuable than the life of a child.

    • @tenjenk
      @tenjenk 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

its ridiculous because the goblins werent even there for the refugees, they were specifically there to raid the grove and kill the druids in search of the gith artifact. If they hadnt been such exclusionary bigots, they could have worked together to save themselves. They were the only ones stopping the druids from being slaughtered.
Hell you even find a letter in Thorm's rooms where he made contact with the shadow druids promising power if they spread their influence with the groves, all to sow discord with among the druids to isolate them and keep them stuck up their own asses in neutral gear, unwilling to oppose him as "he's just focused on people", right uptil the point they were the last ones on the list for him to eliminate. If one grove got massacred, the others wouldnt find out until it was too late.

Khaga is passionate about protecting nature and the grove. She didnt abide a theif. She also wanted to seal the grove off, so that the Goblins & Drow couldn't get inside and harm the grove.

@@1steelcobra Druids are healers, and they will take care of people yes. But on the whole, they care mainly about plants and animals, not sentient people.
Also, if you see the child as a protector. Then you have to see Kagha in the same way.
Kagha wanted to protect her people, her den/temple, and nature as most groves have a STRONG amount of nature magic imbued to and tied to them.
If say hypothetically a child ran into the Vatican and stole a very HOLY object like say the Holy Grail or something. Then not only would the people of the Vatican see it as a MASSIVELY unforgivable crime regardless of the reason. Most Christians on the planet would as well. Since it defiles a sacred place and an artifact. These people would feel this way even more so, if they knew that the church was providing safe harbor to said child before they ran into an off-limits sacred site and stole the artifact.
If we look at the balance of nature aspect, there are PLENTY of living mortal creatures, and that Grove is a significant beacon of positive nature magic, unlike say the Hag's more deathy spin of fey magic. Making protection of the grove, more important then the life of one child in the grand scheme.
Not to mention, that technically the Teifling refugees would still be SAFE inside of the briar walls. They would just have to STAY in the grove, until the druids felt it was safe and took the barrier down.
Meaning that the little girl wasn't protecting anyone truly, just as they would've been safer inside the walls. She was just stopping them from being locked inside the safe barrier of the grove, that they were choosing to stay at for safety anyhow.

Problem with that is despite how far she ends up falling, she genuinely cares about the grove, and her reasoning for joining the shadow druids is because she felt that Halsin wasn't doing enough to protect the grove from the growing dangers. She knew her actions were fucked up, but saw them as justified since it was in the name of protecting the grove - in her mind she was making the hard decisions Halsin refused to. Her actions are Evil but they're done in an attempt to protect the grove. And since the 'evil' option here is to side with the Goblins and destroy the grove, Kagha would NEVER be on board, and would die defending the grove as she usually does.
And even if there was a new evil path that allowed you to spare the grove but not Halsin and the refugees - maybe something like conspiring with Kagha to turn the whole grove against the tieflings, then defeating the goblins + freeing Halsin, then having to kill him when he returns to the carnage and aggros - why would she leave the grove when she finally got the power she's been working towards for years before the player gets involved? Halsin all but admits he had one foot out the door already when he offered to join their camp, but Kagha has every reason to want to stay put.

Druids are not all this peace/love whatever. They gave them sanctuary in the grove, which was more then enough.
The temple area essentially is a sacred area, that non druids or circle members aren't permitted. But that's not them harming the refugess.
Also, closing off the grove doesn't mean them physically hurting the tieflings. They are protecting the grove and preventing outsiders from entering it.

Reason 2 and explained by Kagha, this whole mess was caused for “opening the grove to outsiders” (the tieflings) so why would the ritual in any way permit the tieflings to stay??? The game is very clear on them being thrown into the deadly roads because of it, the ritual is a deadline both because *they don’t want to stay indefinitely when tempers are this bad*, because the grove probably proved just as dangerous as the road considering Arabella could be dead by this point, AND because the ritual definitely involves the druids physically kicking them out/taking back their offer of sanctuary

The shadow druid philosophy seeping into the grove is very cleverly done. Most people are not familiar with the different DND druid philosophies and even less would be familiar enough with the specific tenets of Silvanus and Cloakwood. For an average person, stumbling into the druid grove at the beginning of the game, it would not seem out of place at all for a group of secluded nature loving hermits to be distrustful of outsiders. Surely it is possible for a group to feel so strongly about protecting their own that they decide to cast the "ultimate xenophobia" spell, right?

In this version you can see she doesn't care at all, her animal partner Teela has better morals and can see reason if you talk to her and she's an ACTUAL viper 🤨. Also if anyone else plays druid and wants to really lean into the Faithwarden thing, the mod Druids Unleashed is a must, while it does amp up your character you can still die pretty quick even on Story Mode, and I have Dragonborn Unleashed with it too 😅. Both are on NEXUS. I hope someone makes a Dragonborn cosmetic mod soon, I'd love more horn and tail options.

    • @Ragnarra

The viper has more morals than a she-elf. Which is deeply amusing considering Kagha is a sociopath and a monster I hated her the moment I saw her.

The viper is also against theives.
The only REAL difference, is that the Viper is open to other opinions. Because you can simply explain that Arabella is a child who doesn't know not to steal really.
Which makes the Viper chill out, because the child is believed to not been tought proper morals from it's parents yet.

i love how in every cutscene where kagha is found out or gets her comeuppance she becomes overly apologetic, struggling to find excuses for her actions like a child getting caught misbehaving, showing that she doesnt have a backbone or any beliefs she actually held for herself. At the end she was never the cunning viper she thought, she was just a squirming worm terrified that a child might step on her
