That movie about the guy who is not sleeping is called the Machinist ( muh - sheen - ist ). I’m in the industry and a guy I work with called it the same thing and it drove me crazy as it’s literally how he makes a living and he doesn’t know how to spell it? Anyway not trying to be a dick just letting you know before some troll does as only a troll could. Oh and also from Utah oddly enough.
I’m was born and raised in Utah and I’m about 60 years old now. I have seen some weird and terrifying stuff in my life. Please take my advice because Utah is a scary and paranormal hot spot! never move here, especially if your from California! In fact, if you have already moved here, play it safe and go back where you came from before it’s too late! :)
I'm also from Utah and I still live here. If you're from California feel free to come here and if you're an illegal immigrant you're also welcome here. At least that's what it seems like these days
I miss Utah. I miss my best friends. The people there are amazing & the scenery is beautiful! God definitely sat back & admired his work after he created those mountains.
I’m a born & raised Utahn. The story about the haunted fast food place hit home for me as several years ago I was assistant manager of one in central Utah that had similar odd experiences occur there. I had a few small things happen, but there was one that stood apart. As manager I’d sometimes be doing my paperwork & running reports long after the employees were gone which is what I was doing that night. It was about 3am and I was just finishing up the inventory items in the walk-in freezer when I heard the heavy door slam shut behind me. 1st weird detail is I always propped the door open with a heavy crate full of frozen hamburger. 2nd even if the door somehow managed to slip loose by itself it had a safety feature that stopped the latch from clicking so it stayed open a crack. You had to push it all the way closed to get it securely shut. 3rd there was no lock on the freezer section of the walk-in to further ensure no one getting locked in. Even so after I heard the door slam shut I hurried to the door to let myself out and it was firmly locked. The handle wouldn’t budge. My first thought was we were getting robbed and they had just locked me in. My second was if I don’t get out of here fast I’ll be in real trouble as the temp is well below freezing. Long story short one of my employees had forgotten their purse and when I didn’t answer they knew something was wrong as my truck was still in my parking spot. She called another manager who came and unlocked the building for them. I’m extremely lucky she came back so soon and everyone responded so fast. It’s still a mystery how I got locked in there however. There were no intruders on any of the cameras, the alarm wasn’t tripped, and the tills for the next day still had their cash. My crate was also found on the other side of the walk-in tipped over like it had been violently kicked or thrown. The handle never did latch itself shut or get stuck again either.
In the second story she said she was worried about cougars. Actually cougars are not so bad. You just need to buy them a drink and start a pleasant conversation and they'll start purring.
Hi Swamp 👋 I saw a picture of you that you uploaded, you look like my Son, or my Son looks like you lol. 😆 He's in his late twenties and has always had long hair. You're a good looking young man Swamp just like my Son! Said Respectfully from a Mom, and faithful Subscriber. 🤗😻😘
I have to agree!! You’re lucky to be photogenic on top of being good looking!! 😻😻My son wore his hair long until he was pressured into cutting it by his buddies at school. 🥺😿Now that he’s old enough, I wish he’d grow it back!😹😹 On the other hand, my husband still not only wears his long, but he’s also managed to keep all of it, so that works well for me!! Also written respectfully, from a Mum and faithful subscriber. (I’ve binged, but your vids tend to be longer than some, so I’m still catching up!) You have a good voice for this gig - your voice is very soothing. At first I wondered why people were listening to you at bedtime. Your subject matter isn’t exactly fairy tales… and my dreams are bizarre enough without adding to it! I hope those who fall asleep to your voice listen again when they’re awake!!
As a Utah native, I still say that the scariest thing I've ever encountered is the entire state is basically closed on Sunday. Hence, no open liquor stores, and not much to do. At least that's something I find scary...
And u have to be older to by cigarettes & the alcohol content in beer is lower. It doesn’t matter that much now but it did when we were stationed at hill lol
I live in Texas, and in some towns (like right outside New Braunfels), there used to a church right next to a drive thru liquor barn. Church got out at noon, when beer and wine could be legally sold, and we literally saw a long line of cars pulling out of the church parking lot and into the line for beer and wine! We were going tubing on the Frio River and had to wait in line with them, wearing bathing suits and cut off shorts, while everyone else was dressed up, we got a lot of dirty looks, which we thought was hilarious, considering where we all were, and praying must be thirsty work, since most people were getting cases of beer! Outside of Lubbock, Texas, which is a "dry" town, it looks like Los Vegas at night, right outside of the city limits are hundreds of discount liquor stores with swooping flashing lights and gigantic billboards with light up bottles ten feet high flashing on and off. I think it makes people drink more...
Hahaha I'm from Utah and have been to the hot springs up Spanish fork canyon. Great story ,we were on mushrooms and some cows freaked us out on the dark trail.lol. The next day all the nudest showed up. Wow crazy memories 😂
Did anyone else take a 5 minute detour on Google to double check whether or not Utah was a Midwestern state? As someone who lives in the Midwest, and double checked Google, I am here to say it is in fact a western state, lol I was just really caught off guard hearing that, I had to check! (Anyways, Swamp Dweller, I love your videos and I listen to them every night before I go to bed. Also, speaking of the Midwest, you should do some Michigan/Great Lakes/DogMan horror stories of you can! )
Yes, Dogman are the ones I like to listen and learn from. I know he does Dogman, just not to often. It's been a while since he has uploaded a entire Dogman Encounter Stories, I hope he starts a series of Dogman Encounters. 🤗😻🤩🍿🍿🍿🥤🥤🥤
Yeah Utah! I wish I would have shared my story about my Aunts old house in Payson ( one city south ). One town south of Spanish Fork, and up the canyon Its the Hot Pots, hearing them called hot spots sounds weird. At least thats what we called them going up, some cool stories, the one about being followed up by Sandy and Midvale ( 9000 S and 7800 S ) by the I-15 I liked that story as I live up in Salt Lake and have had a similar experience especially if your downtown, carry protection.
Yep, my kids were bar hopping down town a couple of weeks ago. Bars closed everyone was leaving and a fight broke out. Someone yelled gun, everyone ran . Son , daughter and friends are all good.
14:33 Did that happen near the Sandy area??? I was literally in that area a few years ago and a very similar thing happened to me. Luckily, I was on a motorcycle and managed to use my small turning radius to lose him after I accidentally led him down a dead end. The fact that he had to make a 3 point turn while I sped off was the only reason I escaped so early on. Still, the streets you mentioned made my spine shiver because those were the exact places I was.
I live 2 1/2 hours from my driveway to Skinwalker ranch. I've driven there a few times, though many years ago. You used to be able to sneak on the property before the rich guy in S.L.C bought it and started making the show Skinwalker ranch.....😂
Story 6 at first I thought it was maybe Union station in Ogden, but the multiple rooms in the basement made me imagine the old stock exchange building in Ogden. But the skinny guys I’ve never heard of. Fort Douglas or most likely Tooele hospital.
The guy who was followed in the car just baffled me with his unending series of bad decisions and goofy actions. How did this guy ever live to grow into adulthood? He needs to get some help to learn to make intelligent decisions if he really is that impaired by an inability to make decisions in any kind of logical manner. We all make scared, stupid choices at times, especially when stressed out, but if you make choices like his, you're putting others besides yourself in harm's way (like his mom by trying to drive to his home while being followed by obviously violent thugs). There is a great book on Amazon called, "When Your Life Depends On It", that shows how to make sure you know how to choose actions that keep you alive instead of blindly reacting...get it now.
I use these stories as a road map for future reference, thanks for the heads up! Although I do live in Oregon, born and raised and it isn’t for the faint of heart 👻
I know yike's! While attending college in central Oregon a Mormon girl I befriended wanted me to convert. Being raised a Quaker what I heard was a big big Yike's!
I know these are fake...but the not sleeping one whoever wrote that must not realize a human can only go about 11 days without sleeping no way in hell you making a full month and living.
I've actually gone 14 days before but I was getting power naps and I was also strung out on meth at the time. I was hallucinating things that weren't there I was hearing voices all the time and conversations that weren't there. I have to lock myself in a room for 3 days and sleep and stop using drugs
I liked the story about the guy who couldn’t sleep. I think his theory on being at a different wavelength sounds feasible and very interesting. I enjoyed the last story about what sounded like a ghost of a crawler. From what I know about them they normally have three fingers (maybe a thumb? Not sure) therefore they tend to leave three claw marks. Wonder if that person got three scratches on him. Not a big fan of the rain in the background on this video. Sounds like static to me and makes the story harder to hear. Absolutely love the content I spite of this minor complaint. Keep up the great work Swampdweller!
Good and spooky just like I like it! Not to be an arse though but if the person in the last story had really not slept at all for 8 weeks and had 40 sleeping pills, 2 x Nyquil bottles and booze they'd be dead.
I dunno, her dream is to live on welfare and squat in some abandoned house rigged with traps and rag-tag alarm systems... I figure her tolerance to drugs are pretty high and she can have pills and booze for dinner without a problem
Skinwalker ranch is much closer (should really be IN their territory but ya know we stole it after breaking treaties) to the Ute tribe up in the mountains and in the uintah basin not the southern red rock Navajo nation part of the state.
The place in Utah Hot Spring is well known. At the first of the story he says that it was a short and easy hike. I thought, well that isn't true, but his friend was the one that told him that and it turns out it wasn't easy and it wasn't short. Now that is the truth.
So, the one who had the dry bone outside needs to cleanse their house spiritually. Because I think the skin walker may have marked your house, so they'll come back. It won't be so hard for them.
Thank you! As a woman I make sure to take a map and follow it. I don't care for Google maps, or anything similar. These things tend to send you the long way, or the wrong way at times. I'll use them, but always look at my map to be sure I am going the right way. 🤗😻🤩😉🍿🥤
4 bottles of nyquil and had a headache, get real. 1 bottle ud be tripping so hard on dxm you wouldn't know what to do with yourself, much less what was going on
Hello, the arguably scariest experience is that one time I whistled at night (in the deep woods no less) and right after a *SNAP, And then. bloody gurgle* like your neck just got slit cleanly, and you’re trying to breathe but the only thing coming in or out is your blood, your crimson essence leaking out slowly the throat, and your trachea showing exposed into the horrid world. Needless to say I swiftly exited the wood as fast as possible. (I like to make stories, so note, this is fictitious)
That was Stanley. He loved to sing until his accident with the girl scout troop and the chainsaw. His deformity makes him shy but he is a great conversationalist if you don't mind reading from a notepad that he writes on to communicate with others.
I think a cool and different subject would be like scary stories that turned out to be nothing. Like didn’t know someone was coming over and turns out that it was just then but thought was someone breaking in or something like that.
I know exactly the old Kaysville motel… it’s not there anymore about 11 years ago there was a shooting and they tore it down. It was a really weird creepy place and I always wondered what it was like for the people living there… they had a technicolor tv ad all the way up to 2011 as it’s main flex. Weirdo energy for sure
Jesus. How could you share the story where the person claims they haven't slept for a month and took all these pharmaceuticals and yada yada yada 🤮 Sounds like a story a child would make up.
Separation of church and state was only made to protect the church from the state and not the other way around, however mormonism is an occult and nothing to do with church
I have lived in ogden all my life i have never felt nervous or scared when I go hiking or just out and about i always have flashlights knife, and a weapon because there are a lots of cats i have seen 3
Ah yes, The Calaveras Apartments in Midvale. I know that place. A real garden spot. But then again, no worse than the rest of Midvale. Thre crackpot idea the guy in the second-to-last story had of squating in an abandoned house in would probably have himself nicer accommodations than The Calaveras. That is, if he could actually find an abandoned house these day--the real estate market in Utah, and especially the Salt Lake valley, is the most over-inflated in the country. Which is part of the reason places like The Calaveras apartments exist. This used to be a nice place to live, but since out beloved local leaders have no economic ideas beyond constant, perpetual expansion and urban sprawl, it's kind of gone to shit in the past decade or so. Like distinguished Utah resident Edward Abbey said, unlimited growth is the strategy of the cancer cell.

It’s actually really disappointing because all these stories are obviously fake and are generally wrong with locations

The opening of this video is creepy!
Utah is a Rocky Mountain state. In fact it's referred to as the Crossroad of the West...from a Utahn.
Come to NJ and experience our traffic 😃
Utah? Midwest? Lmao, what you smoking, my guy?
Story 2: loves nature but doesn't even remember her "Dads Dog's" name 😔😔😔 lol
I'm a Utah native ❤
Aka every story about bigfoot/dogman/skunkdog
I know exactly the old Kaysville motel… it’s not there anymore about 11 years ago there was a shooting and they tore it down. It was a really weird creepy place and I always wondered what it was like for the people living there… they had a technicolor tv ad all the way up to 2011 as it’s main flex. Weirdo energy for sure
Yesssssss *shotgun pump*
From Utah. I know where some wild scary spots are
I to deliver food and am familiar with the Calaveras apartments. The city where the apartment are can be a bit of a rough area. I feel ya.
Ive been camping alone in utah for 20 years and I've been killed by skinwalkers at least 3 times
Jesus. How could you share the story where the person claims they haven't slept for a month and took all these pharmaceuticals and yada yada yada 🤮 Sounds like a story a child would make up.
Yep, at story 5, I was off to the comments. lol
Yeah. Story 5 killed it for me.
Mormons running our state (Utah) is honestly the scariest horror story.. No separation of church and state is terrible.💔☹️
1st one to commit yes and you are awesome 😎
I've lived in Utah for the past 25 years and traveled all over the state. The scariest things I've encountered are the people!
My hometown was mentioned 😅
That crack pot is what's wrong with the US. No work ethic, life goals and living off the system. Thats the ghost of karma visiting you.
Yes Utah is kinda creepy but so is any other state right right
Utah is not in the midwest. We are in the Intermountain West/Great Basin.

I have to say as of now I am officially in love with you 🖤🖤🖤
