Update: First off, Happy New Years, everyone! Second, I’ve seen a few note that birds do glide backwards due to strong headwinds. I would like to get it out there that I was aware of this beforehand. However, if you watch the movement of the birds, they’re stuck in a loop around the undead settlement towers, never going anywhere. It’s like the myth of Sisphyus, perpetually trapped having to fly in one area for all time, always flying away but always coming back. Much like the players who still play Dark Souls. 👀 I’ve also been told that the Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring can actually HIDE your aura altogether! This will require more testing and potentially a second video on the greatbow. More videos coming soon! Thank you for your feedback! 🙌
I believe its the Untrue Dark ring that hides your Aura, not the Slumbering Dragoncrest ring. Although that ring will mask any footsteps you make Then again, 2 more points in INT, and you can just use the Spook Spell instead, which does the same, and makes you not take fall damage, which will be useful if you need to re-position while at low HP from the RTSR

This video doubles as a perfect explanation for why you take a huge penalty to stealth rolls after you shoot an arrow in games like D&D. My players never get it. It's because people see where the arrow comes from! Plus the bow and arrow makes sounds you can't control like the twang of the string or the arrow zipping through the air. If you're trying to be stealthy you might as well get a knife and go for the vitals. At least you can somewhat control the stealth factor there. Loved it, and I loved the voice-over stuff. You don't seem to have spent much time watching large birds fly. When they glide into a headwind they seem to stand still while the wind pushes them up enough to not descend. It's quite magical to watch a bunch of raptors do this overhead. 0:12 Good video, otherwise.
I mean, just for the short clip at 0:12 I can see what you mean but generally the birds make no sense around that tower. Keep watching them fly after he zooms out again. Fromsoft actually just took that 2D animated sprite and made it orbit around this tower without the actual sprite rotating. So the birds actually fly backwards while going to the right behind the tower.

The Millwood Longbow's construction makes sense. That is why it should be superior to the two fat bows. It's wider in the center and actually tapers towards the bow ends. For the same, or lower strength requirement than the fat bows, the Millwood Longbow will snap from drawn state to release state vastly quicker than the two fat bows.
that’s fascinating to know. Though I doubt that detail was completely intentional on From’s part, it’s very cool that the design can follow some real bow logic. There’s much coverage on fantasy sword/armor design, but hardly anything on how to make a fantastical bow or crossbow.
Millwood greatbow is a greatbow of greatbows. It's a great bow. That may have been the most captivating a dark souls 3 invasion video ever has been for me, you tell a story while you play and you do it well, hope you do more like this
NOTE: Firing the bow with the WA not only causes the explosions, but also increases damage and overpenentrates targets. It might also increase the arrow velocity.
Hi everyone, its a bit late but here is a greatbow tech.. Millwood Greatbow WA true combos to the explosion if you are out of FP and the blast is close enough to the target after the arrow pierces them. So any shot from above that pierce the target will stun them long enough for the blast below their feet to hit them.
I thought that only a headshot would combo with the explosion. thanks for the info, maybe I'll try that sometime (but don't explosions deal less damage without FP? I actually don't know).
Mindlessly browsing DS3 videos, the title caught my eye so I gave it a watch. I immediately knew it was gonna be a fun video when I was greeted with hook statements instead of the usual "WHATS GOIN ON EVERYBODY YA BOY XX_PROBABLYONCOCAINERIGHTNOW_XX HERE." Normally I'm not a fan of pre-recorded gameplay that's later commentated, but I seriously loved this. You put heavily-edited commentary pvp to shame while using a minimally edited yet fulfilling formula. Your voice just seems relatable and easily to listen to, and I found myself not even paying attention to the time. For some reason the ending really felt good to me, most of all. Here is a tip: use ironflesh No one will be able to stagger you, but you will stagger them when they try to attack your character during the anchored animation
May not be the best idea. Using hyper mode you have no health to survive the attack even though their attacks bounce off of you under most circumstances. And for a low-level, low-weight build like this one where Mobility is extremely important I've found it to be counterintuitive.
@@michealjackson500 You're right in part, i forgot to say activate iron flesh only when the match is being decided for the last hit, i used an greatbow build similar to his along with ironflesh, and it goes extremely well if used correctly, i remember in one of my duels the dude avoided all arrows, so using ironflesh was the only way to make sure shots during trades, and my dps went highter so i won With a bit of pratice you can even predice attacks and stop them before the hyper armor frames if you use the greatbow WA BUT i had like 2.5x hp of this build because mine was made for duels, a place where stealth is non existant so you need some points in hp to do minimal trades
@@wasdwasd4995 Iron Flesh might work with your build, but i don't think any amount of absortion would be able to save you with dangitjm's HP. I'd say that Tears of Denial would a better defensive option since it guarantees you will survive at least one hit and doesn't limit your mobility (though you would have to put 5 extra points on Faith or give up a ring slot for the High Priestess ring).
This sincerely is the best piece of Dark Sould content I've watched on TH-cam after playing for 4 years, you made my day and you made me laugh. Fan fucking tastic and well played.
very entertaining commentary and gameplay. by the time i realised, i watched the entire 24 minutes of the video and i havent done that in a while. great stuff!
the sheer finnickyness of this weapon & playstyle is crazy in retrospect. all that setup, effort and risk just to _maybe_ oneshot an unaware, zero vigor player if you hit directly hit them with the needle-sized hitbox of the slowest attack in the game. in comparison, elden ring isn't scared to let you force enemies to roll or die even at long ranges, whether they see you or not.
Wonderful video. I enjoy watching archer builds. I'm more of a Archer vs Bosses rather then a Archer vs Online Players, so I very glad someone like you and others who would go to the extreme risks to go this far with arched builds.

Amazing video. This should get trending in DS community. That last clip was PHENOMENAL. Great commentary as well
Gawd this video was so satisfying and calming to watch. I love it.
I never noticed the difference between the dragon forms
That Milwood greatbow weapon art was timed perfectly...well done mà friend
NOTE: Firing the bow with the WA not only causes the explosions, but also increases damage and overpenentrates targets. It might also increase the arrow velocity.
12:23 "And yet another Guts cosplay is down." Doing the Lord's work, truly.
You clearly haven't put yo grasses on :(
i like how hes telling stories like he was in the war of the souls
"keen eye and strong nose for bullshit" made my day
Legendary plays, Jim. I never get as hyped watching other people's videos on TH-cam than I do with yours, dude. Hope everyone has a happy new year!
This will always be one of my favorite videos of yours
Hi everyone, its a bit late but here is a greatbow tech.. Millwood Greatbow WA true combos to the explosion if you are out of FP and the blast is close enough to the target after the arrow pierces them. So any shot from above that pierce the target will stun them long enough for the blast below their feet to hit them.
JeeNiNe Media Why would this not be the case when you actually have FP? FROM SOFTWARE STRIKES AGAIN WITH THAT BALANCED GAMEPLAY
@@dangitjm that my friend is the million dollar question
I thought that only a headshot would combo with the explosion. thanks for the info, maybe I'll try that sometime (but don't explosions deal less damage without FP? I actually don't know).
This video was so epic to me i still come back time to time to watch this thing, this is beautiful, beautiful indeed.
I subbed because of your mention of the TF2 sniper as a pick class. What a throwback, haha.
One of the best pvp invaders video I've seen. Props to you!
I'm going through a rough time, and this just felt encouraging and hopeful. I probably sound dramatic saying this about a DS3 invasions video, but you made me remember that I ain't dead yet and that I should thank my family for how wonderful they are. Liked and subscribed, God bless :)

is best ds3 youtuber
I couldn't agree with you more; this style is way above average and the ending invasion was beyond perfect. I know this comment is coming a month late but I hope you're doing alright man. We're all out here keepin' on. Don't forget you will always matter, even to random internet strangers.
Such a nice comment then that "God bless" autism. Cant just type a comment without dragging your religion into it, can you?
@@Gankstomper Relax, it's always been a way of saying farewell. If you don't like it, ignore it. Typing comments like this is a waste of time, don't you realize that nobody's opinions will change just by insulting them? I don't care if you're an atheist, can't you just have peace with people? Follow my advice; When I stopped making replies like that to people's comments it made me a lot less of an angry person. Looking down on people and thinking they're unintelligent because they share a different belief system is immature and hypocritical. Just live your life as happily as possible and ignore the things that piss you off.
@@karma8708 no way thats a real name
very good video. most people dont do videos like this that feel more like a learning video rather than a fun 1 shot montage.
This was so damn good. Couldn't stop laughing at that last fight. That purple fought the good fight. May they forever remember the stupid hilarity that happened that day.
Would watch this for hours. Love dark souls pvp videos and yours was a nice build and your commentary was great. Thanks.
listening to JM go
*uNfOrTuNaTeLy FoR yOu*
is so spicy in these headphones MMMMMMMM
👀💦
This video has given me hours upon hours of fun, thank you.
In the first 30 seconds: Apparently you have never seen seagulls fly against ocean winds.
Or a bird flying in real life anywhere lmfao they definitely use the wind to hover like that
Man. I've been thinking about making a Millwood twink build for like a week now and then I find this video. It's a sign. Thanks for the guide, loved the video!
10:08 *record scratch* , *freeze frame*
Host: Yep, that's me. You might be wondering how I ended up in this situation.
I occasionally come back to this video because I love the build, the gameplay, and the commentary. gives me a bit more respect for the invaders I come across that really set their stuff for specific conditions. good on ya.
23:19 Goblin Slayer episode 1
Oh nooooo XD
*goblins has entered chat*
Damn
That roast of Red Dead Redemption 2 just gave me a victory royale
Here is a tip: use ironflesh
No one will be able to stagger you, but you will stagger them when they try to attack your character during the anchored animation
May not be the best idea. Using hyper mode you have no health to survive the attack even though their attacks bounce off of you under most circumstances. And for a low-level, low-weight build like this one where Mobility is extremely important I've found it to be counterintuitive.
@@michealjackson500 You're right in part, i forgot to say activate iron flesh only when the match is being decided for the last hit, i used an greatbow build similar to his along with ironflesh, and it goes extremely well if used correctly, i remember in one of my duels the dude avoided all arrows, so using ironflesh was the only way to make sure shots during trades, and my dps went highter so i won
With a bit of pratice you can even predice attacks and stop them before the hyper armor frames if you use the greatbow WA
BUT i had like 2.5x hp of this build because mine was made for duels, a place where stealth is non existant so you need some points in hp to do minimal trades
@@escabeche6436 yeah, in his case denial would work better, but if he invested some more hp for trades ironflesh would be good
omg that Dynasty Warriors 3 battle music in the background brings back SOOOO many memories
Happy New Years JM! Loved the snipes, good shit
This sincerely is the best piece of Dark Sould content I've watched on TH-cam after playing for 4 years, you made my day and you made me laugh. Fan fucking tastic and well played.
I'm amazed and really amused this was and Is awesome pvp commentary like this is the absolute best
very entertaining commentary and gameplay. by the time i realised, i watched the entire 24 minutes of the video and i havent done that in a while. great stuff!
Great video! The commentary was a bit jarring at first, but I actually ended up really enjoying it. Can't wait to see what else you got in store.
I'm gonna be honest; these types of dark souls 3 PvP videos are my favorites. I'de love to see you make more things like these!
Sniper's a good job, mate.
*(Ausie speech intensifies)*
You’re like the Bob Ross of Dark Souls pvp commentary. So soothing and graceful
You activated Siri when you said “I knew”
the sheer finnickyness of this weapon & playstyle is crazy in retrospect. all that setup, effort and risk just to _maybe_ oneshot an unaware, zero vigor player if you hit directly hit them with the needle-sized hitbox of the slowest attack in the game.
in comparison, elden ring isn't scared to let you force enemies to roll or die even at long ranges, whether they see you or not.
22:22 that's some top 10 anime fight plot right there
First video i watch from you from my recommended, the entire commentary and the pauses and breakdowns, entertaining and well done.
Hu Lao Gate is giving me memories
ArtyAhmad Do not pursue Lu Bu.
This was really entertaining. Didnt think I'd be watching a dark souls 3 video again, but I'm glad I did
Def goat horns and dragon horns
Idk wtf kind of antlers you've been looking at lol
dude, this was sick. excellent work
Thanks purple guy
Wonderful video. I enjoy watching archer builds. I'm more of a Archer vs Bosses rather then a Archer vs Online Players, so I very glad someone like you and others who would go to the extreme risks to go this far with arched builds.
Making great bows viable, finally
They were always good in invasions
One of the best videos I've seen in a long time
Ayeee let's go!
This is now my favorite one from this channel. Keep doing them, brother!
It’s not unfortunate that you still make dark souls 3 videos
Thank you, Todd.
Epic
this is the first time I watched this guy ever and I absolutely loved every second, such a humble, funny, cool guy. Keep it up this was good!
