Using the core/slicer tool, I came up with another hack after a recent trip to Cuba. I had a bottle of Cuban rum and wanted to make drinks for some friends and add something special to the event. Don't slice the pineapple all the way through, which will leave the core in the middle of the "shell." Freeze the shells and then serve the drinks in them. A stack of paper napkins close by is a good idea. The shells don't leak as long as you don't cut them too deep, but moisture will condense on the outside and can start to drip a little. Even with the drips, this is my preferred way of serving these types of drinks whenever I have the time and ingredients.

Maybe it needs to be riper?

People are saying that the first method is the “right” way to eat it but it seems like a whole lot more work without any real extra reward.

I don't think the finger method will ever set the pineapple world on fire! Too much like work! Thank you for a great video.

My ripe pineapple awaits me in the kitchen. I watched a couple of videos before watching yours. One used your first method, the second just cut it apart. Your video was the best!!! And I laughed all the way through! Thanks for your efforts & I'll absolutely be back. Humor is best!

When using the corer/slicer, if you don’t cut through the bottom,You can use the outside of the pineapple as a flower vase/centerpiece.

Use the first twisted out top for planting. Not all plantings are successful, but I'm up to two plants so far.

So I got two little roots and then they died. I don't know if my kitchen was too cold or what. I will try again!

Watching other videos of such, the procedure may be easier if the pineapple is more ripe. The more ripe the better. 👍🏾

I tried the take-apart hack with a knife around the bottom V of the 4 diamond section and it pulled apart easily. This way we could eat the juiciest part (outer layer) of the pineapple right upto the peel. The regular methods peel n throw out a good portion of the outer (ripest) layer. with the hack, its easier if at least the bottom half of the pineapple is ripe (yellow on the bottom). I bought mine when 1/4 from the bottom was yellow and let it sit on my counter for 3-4 days till it became 1/2-2/3 yellow from the bottom and then tried the pull apart hack. cut out the top 1/2 inch and bottom 1/2 inch with the knife and then pull apart.

The 1st pineapple isn’t fully ripe so it is harder to rip out. If you have a yellower pineapple it should work

I’m surprised you didn’t say that PC has them...lol I home can 8 pineapples at a time then take the outer skin and cores and boil them and refrigerate over night then bring back to boil to make juice... I take that and make pineapple jelly or just canned the juice.
