Thanks but I'll stick with Civilization (1991/DOS), you ought to try it! Hey, I've been playing it constantly for 31 years, it must be something special.

When i started a game as Indian civ, i immediately noticed the flute, it was very very similar. My mind started racing and then i realized what i was hearing. I grew up listening to that lovely folk song, it teared me up when i got to hear it again. I have so many memories associated with it and of my country. Thank you wonderful people who brought it back to this game and its actually beautiful to hear as well! I just sat around without advancing my turns just to listen to it more, specially in the ancient era.....
I've only just heard of this franchise. I like that they go for the cultural feel of each country. This has to be one the most ambitious soundtracks ever.
For musicians, this soundtrack is a lesson in how to develop a theme! All of them are extraordinary. It makes me want to play all the Civs I neglect just to hear their music in-game.
I feel that in the Civ V soundtrack you were afraid of the music being too intrusive in the gameplay and I feel that made the soundtrack suffer. In this soundtrack you don't seem to be afraid to be bold and it really paid off. Fantastic job on the soundtrack, I love the progression from ancient era to atomic era. Truly your best work so far.
Wow, this soundtrack is fantastic! So much care and brilliance has been put into this soundtrack, and each tune I've listened to so far perfectly represents the nation it's portraying. The developers have done an amazing job!
Please let me buy the sound track in its entirety on CD or Lossless somewhere! I really like all your hard work. Itunes seems to only be half the music!
This, by far, is the most amazing soundtrack ever. I haven't heard anything like this in any movie. Covers so many countries ....... and does it soooooooooo well. Bravo!!!! I can see comments from various people for different places..... a testimony to the great work.... and I mean ALL of them!
I like how the music of each country improves over each era, from just simple instruments to literally full house epicness orchestral music. Really gives the vibe of the game.
There are all great music, I usually play this game several hours in a row, but never tired of listening to the soundtrack of one civilization again and again.
So happy Geoff Knorr brought back the ancient Seikilos Epitaph theme for Greece, truly an amazing piece of history and an inspiring arrangement by Geoff!
Easily one of the greatest game soundtracks I've heard, ever, as the music progresses it gets so modern and beautiful sounding, easily moviescore esque.
My partner plays this game and I get to hear the music every now and then. I loved the background music so much that I'm here right now listening to all of it. I have zero game play, but a huge fan of the compositions!
Deep deep deep respect for these musical masterpieces. I really fell in love with the developing songs through the ages. Not only the sphere is getting better, it feels so natural.
Many thanks, I've been looking for "classical piano sheets" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Jonwen Doniden Rule - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my partner got cool success with it.
Got my first ever Science Victory with America today. In the last few turns, the music at 6:06 was playing and it fit so well it made me a little bit emotional, especially at 8:38. Such a beautiful song.
Great job on the Chinese theme, took a familiar folk song I listened to growing up and made it into an absolutely beautiful orchestral piece. Civ has never disappointed when it comes to OSTs, and this time not only did they deliver, they took it to a new level. Great work!
Weirdly, I'd only ever heard the song as set by an Italian (Puccini, in "Turandot"). That opera is set in Peking, though, so not surprised that it is in fact a Chinese folk song.
That's a song which is known in Turkey as Katibim (My Clerk), and is widely spread across the Balkans under such names as Fair Hair, Look At Me, Anatolian Girl and many others. No one knows who invented it, were it Slavs or Turks. In every country they say that it was them. Anyway, this song was first used in pop music by Eartha Kitt and then it was kinda sampled by the Boney M
In the America Industrial theme, the part where the lyrics would go "'tis the song, the sigh of the weary" (8:14 and 9:04) is so packed with bittersweet emotion, I can feel my heart melting.
Chinese Industrial Era was based on the classic folk song 茉莉花 (Mo Li Hua) ! What a great choice, indeed Mo Li Hua was a most popular song among chinese community during the 50-90s, this bring me to the good old days as i m listening to this song. Great job!
Japan music is beautiful; to me, each song is set up for Japan’s historical period. Ancient: Heian - Ancient Japan) Classical: Kamakura - Medieval Japan, from a time prior to the Sengoku period) Industrial: Meiji - Japan’s rise to modernization, and the end of the Feudal samurai era) Atomic: Reiwa (Modern, futuristic-style Japan, looking to adapt to a very modernized and rapidly paced world)
I could be playing literally a entire day this game, it's a masterpiece, the graphics, all the civ details, all the things you can do and the paths you can take, and a big part of the reasons to love this game is the soundtrack, a game that can teach you a couple of things about history and strategy (applicable to life). This is more than just an ordinary game, this is art.
I love that other then the main theme of Scarborough fair for England a theme from Lincolnshire posy/Green Bushes was used. My inner band geek is happy.
I started playing on Saturday. I have met all the civilizations and now I'm playing my 3rd game with Sumeria. I have to say that it's the best theme with Arabia, England and France. You made a great game It's fantastic 😘😘
My favourite music of the game so far (not counting Sogno di Volare, which is the true winner of course) is easily Japan's Atomic Era. It really stuck out to me with its incredible blend of mystical and sci-fi character. Really had me pumped while blazing towards my science victory.
When the music started, it feel like i sit in fornt of my computer and play civilization with my best friend, and i can spend all my time on it. What a wonderful weekend.
It took me a while to really notice this in game, but when I first realized that each Civ's theme was slowly "evolving" with the eras I was giddy. This is easily one of the best game soundtracks I've heard in years, WELL DONE.
The Spanish theme is based on Recuerdos de la Alhambra by Francisco Tárrega, one of the most beautiful pieces for classical guitar I have ever heard. Thank you so much for this soundtrack and for basing it in famous compositions from each country, it came out beautifuly.
This whole soundtrack is a masterpiece, thank you so much for putting that big of an effort into this, because this soundtrack tops all other games. My favorite at the moment is the India at 2:22:24 its soooo good! Thanks for this game and soundtrack!
I wish it would give your civ a higher chance at playing it’s own music though. I do have to admit it was great when I entered the industrial era and Germany’s theme started playing
I have played hundreds of hours of civ 5. I can't recall any of the themes. I have played about 60 hours of civ 6, and I remember many of the themes. In fact, I've had several of them get stuck in my head and I couldn't place where I had heard them until I decided to listen to this soundtrack while studying (looking at you Kongo). Great work on this soundtrack!
I like Civ because I’m really into history and the beginning makes me feel so at peace, like how to world existed before all this commercial stuff and buildings everywhere. I get so invested into the game and it’s amazing the whole way through!😊
Those "atomic era" themes are SO damn good... Profound and INSPIRING. Really the whole soundtrack! Makes me wanna play this game so badly, but don't have a gaming PC right now. 😢
The brazillian, roman and spanish themes are my absolutely favorites. What an outstanding work was done in the making of these soundtracks. Congratulations.
This is honestly the most well composed OST I have ever heard, I listen to it whenever i can. It fits the game so nicely and I never get tired of hearing it in game. Fantastic job! P.S this is one of my new favourite games of all time :D
Great game and definitely you made legendary efforts to make the music as perfect as it should be. Well Done! My favorites are: Russia - The Ancient Era by Andrei Saveliev 3:25:53 Russia - The Medieval Era by Geoff Knorr 3:28:12 Russia - The Industrial Era by Geoff Knorr 3:32:09 Russia - The Atomic Era by Geoff Knorr and Phill Boucher 3:36:43
The Brazilian theme is so uplifting! I really like it so much. However, I really like America's ancient era, I've been playing it on loop for awhile now.
I really love how it gets more and more built up and sophisticated... and advanced technique with the ancient rhythm driving behind it, like the refresh of civilizations but with the essential kept and evolving, merging together... Great job done!!
Guys, I made a mistake... I said to myself: - I'm going to try this civ game.. maybe I like it... - Game is kinda strange, but at least its pretty.. - Oh, the music is nice... - What? 100 turns already? - Ok, just one more turn... - What? 350 turns already? - Ok, just one more turn... - What? 3 days playing already? - Ok, just one more turn......... - What? 7 days playing already? - Oh god please save me.... - God, wait please, just one culture victory with the vikings...
i have over 500 hours with civ 5, i played immortal and deity mostly. However, 20 hours into gathering storm i just cant stick to it or figure out what im supposed to do. Im honestly just playing 6 for the music.
My top 5 compilations. It helped me a lot while writing my book. A variety of tunes that are a mix of many styles are great for mental effort. Thank you!
Why is nobody talking about the American theme? it's absolutely beautiful! It's emotive, uplifting and at the same time kinda melancholic. It encapsulates the american spirit so precisely... good hearted pioneering spirit.
I haven't even hit the 30 minute mark and I'm absolutely loving it. I'll also be able to hear some of the themes of civs I've never used for various reasons, one of which is just not fitting my playstyle. Something else too that a bunch of you have probably already noticed, each song perfectly matches their era and theme. Ancient is New Beginnings and Calmness (maybe), Industrial is Progress and Power, and Atomic has that feeling of Triumph. The only way I can describe Medieval is like being at a Medieval Festival or a festival in general.
"The spanish theme is very spansh and too spansh. End of quote." (Parody of Mariano Rajoy) Now seriously, the music in this game is amazing, not only the music of Spain. I can't wait to play it. Or at least to play a demo version.
I'm civilization fan since the 3rd part and always waiting for the soundtracks of the game and they didn't disappointment me once the Arabia soundtrack belong to Turkish old song called Uskudara Gideriken while the Egypt soundtrack belong to the Egyptian singer Sayed Darwish and the song called El Helwa Di thanks 2K for such game and keep it up
You have achieved cultural victory.
Credit to our great musicians listed in the description, an honor to work with them all!
I always do with a couple of Nukes at my side...
Mass effect?

... just one more round
This soundtrack is a big part of why the game is so enjoyable to play for long stretches. It transports you out of time, and takes you on a journey and you don't care when you come back.
@fiv3 when you have small number of civs on map then you will obviously get small numer of songs in game
Very true!
I've actually started playing DOTA matches with this in the background.
True
Sometimes I choose a leader just because I want to listen to the music while playing

Yes, thank you!
Hard Times Come Again no More
Let us pause in life's pleasures and count its many tears,
While we all sup sorrow with the poor;
There's a song that will linger forever in our ears;
Oh! Hard times come again no more.
Chorus:
'Tis the song, the sigh of the weary,
Hard Times, hard times, come again no more.
Many days you have lingered around my cabin door;
Oh! Hard times come again no more.
While we seek mirth and beauty and music light and gay,
There are frail forms fainting at the door;
Though their voices are silent, their pleading looks will say
Oh! Hard times come again no more.
Chorus
There's a pale weeping maiden who toils her life away,
With a worn heart whose better days are o'er:
Though her voice would be merry, 'tis sighing all the day,
Oh! Hard times come again no more.
Chorus
'Tis a sigh that is wafted across the troubled wave,
'Tis a wail that is heard upon the shore
'Tis a dirge that is murmured around the lowly grave
Oh! Hard times come again no more.
Chorus
arabian original is Uskudara Giderken
I love how each civ doesn't have a complete different track for each era, rather you can always hear that original track from the ancient era and how it evolves through the ages along with your civilization. Well done!
One of the small details that was just absolutely incredibly well done. Incredible polish.
agreed noticed that on my 2nd playthrough was very surprised usually game developers cut corners wherever they can
tbf it would've been much, much harder to create an individual track for every civ for every era that didn't have some kind of a motif. The motif helps to tie the civilization's eras together, making it a good thematic choice, while also being much, much easier to make than different tracks for each era.
and when you realise each single civ main theme is completely related to its culture and traditions its just a masterpiece

Tino Mori - MACEDINIAN SONG
When i started a game as Indian civ, i immediately noticed the flute, it was very very similar. My mind started racing and then i realized what i was hearing. I grew up listening to that lovely folk song, it teared me up when i got to hear it again. I have so many memories associated with it and of my country. Thank you wonderful people who brought it back to this game and its actually beautiful to hear as well!
I just sat around without advancing my turns just to listen to it more, specially in the ancient era.....
Really good music to study too. Most importantly, 4 hours with no ads. You guys are true heroes
like you really feel like you're in the game to win against the exam, hahahahah truly going for science victory
This is one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard. Well done.
Thank you! That means a lot to us and the great team of composers we had contribute to the game :)
Far far (far) better than Civilization V soundtracks (in my opinion).
Wow this comment got a reply from the devs
This music is amazing btw

This is AMAZING! I hope you release it in iTunes. I'd love to buy a copy. My favorite so far is Egypt - Atomic Era, that rising build up is just EPIC.
String Player Gamer Why don't you become some song to your version?
Yes, my first playthrough i got Egypt, this music makes everything so epic!
Darn it! My favorites are not even included in the iTunes version.
I guess you could guerrilla an album from the files in your game folder. Tag data is all here anyway.

I've only just heard of this franchise. I like that they go for the cultural feel of each country. This has to be one the most ambitious soundtracks ever.
Civilization games have a history of great soundtracks!

@@letomurdoch1102 It sounds pretty cool, like it has been arranged by Two Steps from Hell!
@@siniorgolazo reminds me of the avengers theme
Thank you! The credit goes to our amazing musicians who all worked together to put together 4+ hours of amazing music.
indeed, they got the right inspirations.
Please let me buy the sound track in its entirety on CD or Lossless somewhere! I really like all your hard work. Itunes seems to only be half the music!
Gmeister I agree
Indeed, I have to say that the game is a musical masterpiece. It's clear that they put a lot of thought into it.
This, by far, is the most amazing soundtrack ever. I haven't heard anything like this in any movie. Covers so many countries ....... and does it soooooooooo well. Bravo!!!!
I can see comments from various people for different places..... a testimony to the great work.... and I mean ALL of them!
1:00:55 The buildup is great, and the execution is perfect
2:27:16 His words are now backed with nuclear weapons.
No one gets this joke. But it is Amazing.
You guys really know how to make exceptional renditions of the Epitaph of Seikilos. Greece and Rome's themes are truly amazing in this game.
I like how the music of each country improves over each era, from just simple instruments to literally full house epicness orchestral music. Really gives the vibe of the game.
And this is what I'll study to from now on.
Thijs Blom is not going to work for me, since i'll recognise them and hymn to them, itll distract me
It's always better than a song with lyrics, because I can't sing along to this. :p
Hope it makes you as productive as possible :)
So far its working great :)
Yeah,it's working for me too. This soudtrack increase my production so that I can build every wonder in one turn :)
Welp, gotta say you guys nailed Brazil's soundtrack this time around. Amazing work
Last time too. Pedro's war theme in Civ V was one of the bests.
Gabriel Campanini Realmente, chega de saudade já é apelação
I prefer the one in Civ V actually. Goosebump inducing, that one.
Que trilha sonora foda pqp
Agreed. Civ V Pedro's war theme was one of the bests for sure.
1:33:33 The atomic Scarborough Fair is amazing, the way it builds up from light and a bit macabre into an epic and optimistic chorus.
There we go, this is better!
Percentage wise, I think I like Atomic Age most as a group.
🕊️❤
My partner plays this game and I get to hear the music every now and then. I loved the background music so much that I'm here right now listening to all of it. I have zero game play, but a huge fan of the compositions!
Deep deep deep respect for these musical masterpieces. I really fell in love with the developing songs through the ages. Not only the sphere is getting better, it feels so natural.
Oh so they're back to the Civ 4 era themed soundtrack. Loved the hell of it.
Glad you like it!
The people are the heroes
That is awesome . The Egyptian theme is based heavily on the famous song (( Al helwa deyya )) a classic Arabic song .
Many thanks, I've been looking for "classical piano sheets" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Jonwen Doniden Rule - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my partner got cool success with it.
they are almost all based on popular traditional songs from each civilization
@@matthewstanfield7519 yes, true... Indian one was based on old religious song "Vaishnav Jan to"
@@matthewstanfield7519 yes, like Russia is based on kalinka
I think the American song is based on 'The rising of the Moon'
Got my first ever Science Victory with America today. In the last few turns, the music at 6:06 was playing and it fit so well it made me a little bit emotional, especially at 8:38. Such a beautiful song.
Great job on the Chinese theme, took a familiar folk song I listened to growing up and made it into an absolutely beautiful orchestral piece.
Civ has never disappointed when it comes to OSTs, and this time not only did they deliver, they took it to a new level. Great work!
As a Chinese, I can't think of a more suitable song
Weirdly, I'd only ever heard the song as set by an Italian (Puccini, in "Turandot"). That opera is set in Peking, though, so not surprised that it is in fact a Chinese folk song.

I really appreciate that you synthesized the best from the historical progression of my country through music. A big congratulations from China!
16:30 I'm getting a Rasputin song vibe here
It's pretty much a rip off of "Ruse kose curo imaš," or other regional variant of the song.
Even Boney M. stole songs ;)
Tholoma ashkun gharami - that's the original song.

Now they are just IMPERATOR: ROME players :)
Great job!
Easily one of the best game soundtracks I've ever heard. Civ 6 definitely has some of the best audio in recent years. Well done!
How is it possible for music to be THIS GOOD? I'm blown away every time I listen to this sound track. Beautiful work!
Japan music is beautiful; to me, each song is set up for Japan’s historical period.
Ancient: Heian - Ancient Japan)
Classical: Kamakura - Medieval Japan, from a time prior to the Sengoku period)
Industrial: Meiji - Japan’s rise to modernization, and the end of the Feudal samurai era)
Atomic: Reiwa (Modern, futuristic-style Japan, looking to adapt to a very modernized and rapidly paced world)
I cannot describe how much I adore this soundtrack and the way the civ's themes change with time. Simply breathtaking!
Arabia Industrial is my favorite. Damn, that's beautiful.
agreed. That's why I always play arabia
Is It Just me or It sounds a Lot like Rasputin?
In fact, this is a turkish music. song name "üsküdara gider iken".
this version of the song has been great
it sounds literally JUST like rasputin
boney m definitely sampled the original lol
Fun Fact: It is a Turkish song not Arabic. (Uskudara Gideriken)
Brazil is fabulous in this game, great civilization, good choice!!!
1:38:38 one of my favorite moments
I think, this one is from Knights of Honor
the French theme one of the best
Gesh86 There is a joke in there which I won't mention...
When the music started, it feel like i sit in fornt of my computer and play civilization with my best friend, and i can spend all my time on it. What a wonderful weekend.
Some parts of it almost made me cry. This music is powerful!
My ears melted when I heard Greece's Atomic era theme! It's so good!
honestly I'm in love with every single song in civ 6, but for me, Russia wins best soundtrack based on one of the best red army choir songs ever
gtpower3 Exactly. Russia's theme is always breathtaking in all Civ games.
k a l i n k a
It took me a while to really notice this in game, but when I first realized that each Civ's theme was slowly "evolving" with the eras I was giddy. This is easily one of the best game soundtracks I've heard in years, WELL DONE.
wow, I just noticed the image isn't actually a static image :)
Good catch! Anyone else notice it too?
Nope :D
Try to find out what isn't so static in nature and look for it in the 'image'
Expletive you for that last one, Arthur.
I see it now I've turned my quality up
The Spanish theme is based on Recuerdos de la Alhambra by Francisco Tárrega, one of the most beautiful pieces for classical guitar I have ever heard.
I noticed when playing the game that only the civilization's soundtracks of those you've met are played. Such a neat idea!
I wish it would give your civ a higher chance at playing it’s own music though. I do have to admit it was great when I entered the industrial era and Germany’s theme started playing
Brejeiro is an awesome theme for Brazil. I've been playing them simply so I could hear the theme while I play
Greece is my fave so far. Love that the theme changes every era. It was very Epic when I noticed in game after reaching the industrial era. So cool!
I have to give it to the English medieval theme. The way they merged Scarborough Fair and The Bold Grenadier is truly top tier.
A very good remastering of the Greek theme. You know what? Good tracks all around. You really outdid yourself this time, Firaxis.
Ironically, this particular upload of the soundtrack is the only one I could find without any ads whatsoever.
I like Civ because I’m really into history and the beginning makes me feel so at peace, like how to world existed before all this commercial stuff and buildings everywhere. I get so invested into the game and it’s amazing the whole way through!😊
I never thought Civ VI looked like it'd live up to Civ V so I didn't play it, but I tell you the music is absolutely perfect.
Those "atomic era" themes are SO damn good... Profound and INSPIRING. Really the whole soundtrack! Makes me wanna play this game so badly, but don't have a gaming PC right now. 😢
You don't entirely need a gaming PC to play civ 6. If you want better quality gameplay than yes, a gaming PC would be recommended.

I love the demented reaction of Spain’s king Philip II when he denounces you. It scares me everytime.
Thanks for uploading with the start times guys. Loving the game so far!
The Brazilian theme is so uplifting! I really like it so much. However, I really like America's ancient era, I've been playing it on loop for awhile now.
Medieval era is better than ancient era but both are really good
Every single time I work from home, I put this on. Twice. And the day is over.
Beautiful.
Spain's music for each era is "Recuerdos de la Alhambra" by Franciso Tarrega, traditionally a classical guitar piece.
I really love how it gets more and more built up and sophisticated... and advanced technique with the ancient rhythm driving behind it, like the refresh of civilizations but with the essential kept and evolving, merging together... Great job done!!

Why is nobody talking about the American theme? it's absolutely beautiful! It's emotive, uplifting and at the same time kinda melancholic. It encapsulates the american spirit so precisely... good hearted pioneering spirit.
Yeah, I’ve been whistling it all day.
When playing the game the American theme is one of the most iconic in my opinion.
My favorite is the American, Egyptain, and Indian. If I had to pick a favorite in that, probably Indian.
I've played since Civ 3, and I've always loved the soundtracks, but this is the best yet. Well done!

End of quote." (Parody of Mariano Rajoy)
Now seriously, the music in this game is amazing, not only the music of Spain. I can't wait to play it. Or at least to play a demo version.

I'm civilization fan since the 3rd part and always waiting for the soundtracks of the game and they didn't disappointment me once
the Arabia soundtrack belong to Turkish old song called Uskudara Gideriken
while the Egypt soundtrack belong to the Egyptian singer Sayed Darwish and the song called El Helwa Di
thanks 2K for such game and keep it up
I regret so much not getting the digital deluxe. This soundtrack is the best one I've heard in some time. Firaxis you guys need to make it a DLC.
Thanks for this masterpiece OST
Sumerian theme song is so awesome, it's got to be my favorite!
Spiritual awakening triggered when I heard the Seikilos Epitaph in the sparse intro for Greece. Fav track from Civ 5 and glad to see it back!
