I could listen to this guy all day long. Peter - get him in a room with snacks and drinks, and let's live stream a GM Q&A. He can do 20 hours straight ;)

I can never get enough of Gordon Murray....it seems like summer 2018 videos and interveiws are just popping out of cyberspace.
Im 62 been into "sports cars " exclusively since my right hand drive bugeye/ frogeye sprite I started to restore when I was 15.
Because when I was 12-13 ,I helped two guys traveling to cape cod from NY in a exracing GT40. Broke down in my town and took out the motor shipped it back to NY and installed a used Ford motor to continue their trek. For 4 days straight Id run
To the garage stall ,they rented and helped , pass a wrench, hold a bolt.
Slip and squeese under the car to get a dropped tool or part. And asked a million rapid fire questions.
I lived and followed sports cars and sports car racing , I subscribed to Road and track just to read Rob Walkers F1 column
I devoured it always to short always hungry for more.
I owned my own sports car restoration shop restoring any thing with 2 seats for 20 years.
Currently building 2 personal resto modded Datsun Z cars a 240 and a back dated 280. Sports cars still in my blood , from Chapman to Marcos, to Porsche and Austin Healey , from TVR to replica's , to minis and Jensen.....everything was fun and exciting and analog.
I love listening to Mr Murray, he talks my language....of an era when you had to put ,the pencil to paper to create.
A great great era of sports and racing cars.

Excellent interview. The FIA and liberty should get him to sort the F1 car rules, then you would get the excitement of the racing back

Another great interview Peter, this time with the legendary Gordon Murray! Thank you so much, I and I believe everybody else here enjoyed it a lot! I wanted to ask you if you know anything about Gordon possibly writing a book about his journey in life so far? I did search and did not find anything, which is a great pity, IMHO. Have you asked him about that, or maybe he is already in the process of writing it? Please let us know if you find out.

As amazing a career as Gordon Murray had in Formula One. The two cars I remember most about him are the BT52 (my fav looking F1 car ever) and the 'fan' car (the car with the perfect record - 1 race, 1 win, 100% success rate).
Fantastic interview, IMO. Amazing and eclectic (seeming) fellow.

What makes Gordon Murray so interesting in my mind, is the fact that he is an extremely focused engineer but still he seems to have a lot of passion for arts as well. I think he puts function before form whenever it's possible, but still manages to come up with beautiful designs. Also, he could probably talk about music almost as much as designing cars.
