This story is anecdotal and an anomaly. Statistically speaking you have a much better chance of going unharmed if you lie on your stomach and don’t do anything. I feel bad for this man as he had to deal with an autistic patient of his, and he did the right thing for the most part. The officer should not have fired, and it seems like this was an accident. Prayers to this man and his family. This could have gone much worse.

Fucking monsters. I lived in a group home for the mentally disabled and just got out last year. We had horrible employees and the ones that did care about us were treated awful by the higher-ups. A staff member like him would have been a blessing for us! It was hard enough getting people that didn’t abuse us and harass us because nobody listens to the disabled. Most group homes are run horribly and rest of the world aren’t meant to know about the abuse that goes on. My best friend is autistic like this guy and wears diapers and is the sweetest soul ever. There’s a possibility that threatening him with a gun could’ve helped distract the therapist and put him in fight or flight mode. However, shooting him in the end was not acceptable in any way. I don’t know much about this stuff, but pointing a gun at a man threatening to kill himself also sounds paranoid.

Fucking monsters. I lived in a group home for the mentally disabled and just got out last year. We had horrible employees and the ones that did care about us were treated awful by the higher-ups. A staff member like him would have been a blessing for us! It was hard enough getting people that didn’t abuse us and harass us because nobody listens to the disabled. Most group homes are run horribly and rest of the world aren’t meant to know about the abuse that goes on. My best friend is autistic like this guy and wears diapers and is the sweetest soul ever. An employee like this man here would be a hero to us! For a cop to shoot him when he’s protecting his group home resident is disgraceful. I hope this man got millions.
