true, but in some situations, they kind of really have to handcuff first and then check the ID and 5 minutes later you're free to go. I'm not saying that all of these clips were like that, but sometimes they're looking for very dangerous people and they can't take any risks.
BRUH I SAY THIS EVERY TIME. Man gets accused. Cop does something wrong or lone ranger style. Police department then released a statement "after further investigation OHH LOOK A BUTTERFLY....our guy did nothing wrong and went based upon his situation."

Simple: Put the police officer in front of a jury, have them decide whether or not to proceed to a real trial, and what charges should be in that trial.
So you're trying to tell me that Internal Affairs officers are not the same as a regular police officer. if I remember correctly they take the same oath as a regular police officer and they should be held accountable for their actions as well.
I’m glad the interaction with Joseph Griffin was just a “we need to double check to make sure” mix up and not a “it’s 100% you, put your hands in the air” mix up. Edit: Holy moly 68 likes on this comment? I was not expecting that! Thanks!
Cop in the 3rd clip is how all cops should handle these situations. He was cautious but also polite and calm, he did not jump to conclusions or automatically assume the guy he was talking to was the person he was looking for.
The cop in the third clip polished a turd and gave him lip service to excuse his behavior, that's why he blamed his sergeant for instructing him to detain the man. Don't be fooled by politically correct vernacular and a carefully choreographed activity designed to look harmless. Just because someone isn't slamming you to the ground screaming "Get on the ground Ni**er" doesn't mean that it's not a racially motivated act, and the same goes in reverse. Political correctness just hides the truth from plain sight. "Sir, please stop where you are, you are being detained for an ongoing police investigation. You match the description of a suspect, we need to confirm your identity and that you are not the individual we're looking for." It's that simple. The whole interaction about how they don't think it's him, but circumstances are whatever... That just makes the cops look unprofessional and shady af! He escalated the situation by being uncooperative and trying to get in the car and drive away. The police were wrong but i dont think they were being malicious - they had limited information and were trying to get more information from the guy. (Idk their last names, so I'm gonna use their first names.) If you're talking about the cops in the video, a few of them are actually not corrupt cops. One of the cops handled the situation very well, the one with the burglary thingy. The sedan the friends were in for the attempted robbery part, the cop was somewhat right somewhat wrong. Cops only get a little information before they are dispatched. It looks like both of Mr.Aaron's friends were white, and it DID say that there was a black and white suspect, so the cop did have a legitimate excuse of not stopping Mr.Aaron's buddies. But the rest of them did NOT have an legitimate excuse to why the did their actions, so they should be sued.
@@victorious2863 You don't know they're not Corrupt Cops. You're not by their Side 24/7. When a Cop does something Wrong and the Other cops do nothing about it, they too are guilty! And every cop is Corrupt. If they don't do what they're told, they will lose their job. So they either do it or they're fired or they quit. Any cop who's been on the force for a while has definitely done enough to be considered Corrupt.
It's insane that even after they find out that they're wrong they never sincerely apologize to the innocent party and in some cases they even go as far as to steal attempt to arrest a person even though they've done nothing wrong just to cover their own asses. This literally makes it hard for people to trust law enforcement.
I think most people would even look the other way if the cops were more emphatic and did their best to make up for their false accusations or poor policing. In a lot of cases, the cops are like, "oh well, yeah, we got the wrong person, but if you didn't do such and such, we wouldn't have had to act this way." In reality, anyone being threatened with incarceration or faced with being implicated is going to have a natural reaction to defend themselves. It's like a human reaction to feel threatened and want to shell up and avoid being victimized. So basically, if the police hadn't provoked people, they wouldn't be in the siltation to begin with.
Ppl should never trust the govt. The police act like tyrannical rulers when their money comes from the public as a fundamental understanding that they work for ppl. The lack of human decency is so gross. If the govt. makes a mistake, they should treat you like they committed a crime. False imprisonment is a crime. So is making false police report. Qualified immunity is too much for them.

Would have been mine too, to think fighting with police officers, especially with my skin color, is a natural reaction? Thats dangerous man, id get that checked because you have a family you need to go home to and protect.

It doesn't make it hard to trust law enforcement. There is no trusting law enforcement. They don't deserve trust.

That is a insane thing to say when you think about it. “He has every right to exercise his right to refuse to id himself but it isn’t always the best idea”. We are heading towards a world where you either get your rights violated or risk being killed for exercising them.
I think that's a perfectly reasonable statement. We have many rights - you can walk up to someone and shout profanities at them, you can flip someone off and insult their mother, their religion and their livelihood. Doesn't mean these are good ideas.
I get your point though. However, choosing not to ID himself risks the possibility of escalating the situation - which it did. You have the right to refuse that, but you also have to accept that it's not going to make the situation any better.

I've been a cop for almost 30 years. When I was the supervisor of detectives I had a patrol officer come to me nearly in tears, because she was ordered to arrest someone by a LT, who was relying on a drunk victim's "positive ID" of a guy who just happened to be walking by where the crime happened in a gas station parking lot. She implored me to look into it, and I did, and I was able to exonerate the guy and get the charges dropped. I worked just as hard to prove his innocence as I would have to prove his guilt, if he had been actually guilty. Justice is finding the truth, no matter which way it goes.
