I just bought this Motoholder's high quality aftermarket fairing stay for my 2016 R1M from STG. I could've spent around $50 less on a another aftermarket manufacturer's high quality fairing stay. I am loyal to STG for many reasons. Firstly, their customer service and company policies are unparalled for a relatively small company who's margins are tight. Next, I like them for the passion the sales/techs people have when chatting with them about the best solution for my bikes when I call them with questions. Finally, and this is less quantifiable yet maybe most valuable, is the amount of damn time and money that I DID NOT WASTE by watching Brian's videos! I can only hope Brian keep's them coming! Thank you Brian and I thank you all at STG!
You are welcome and thank you for the order as well as taking time to leave this comment! I will be doing these videos for a long time, it is a blessing to be able to work at something you love everyday. - Brian Van
Thank you so much for this video my OEM fairing stay cracked on my 17’ R1 and watching this video along with your explanations helped me make my decision on my new assembly! I subscribed👍🏽
yo i swear the OEM ones keep cracking, I just replaced one wheni got it last year and it cracked again, surprised i'm not hearing much about it anywhere in the forums and such
for those who concerned, this will NOT fit your road bike, it will get in the way of your headlight assembly. To be able to fit, you gotta modify it by trimming the fairing stay's nose tip.
I noticed comments saying that they made the part stronger for street riding to hold mirrors and headlights, but when i contacted them they said that their part is not made for street riding. Interesintg.
The part is not made for street riding. That said people do what people do and use it on the street as well as the track. It is a track only part. - Van
You'll love it . The oem duck break easily . I did it twice and expensive to replace and hard to find a used one. The motoholders subframe should be next its a little heavier then stock but it's durable .
My OEM one broke on me so I am considering getting this one assuming it works all with OEM fairings and whatnot? OE duct work is barely cheaper than this so I figured why not but the little close-out panels are necessary in my opinion and idk if I have the creativity to make a bracket.
@@merc7paul No I just got the OEM one. Didn't want to chance something not fitting. I've been through two as well. I think next time I will just get the carbon one and say screw the little panels.
The end result was exactly what I was looking for and would recommend this to anyone who has installed race bodywork on their 2015-2017 Yamaha R1. - Brian Van
Great video and i love you guys, question tho could I utilize this for street purposes? I need to replace my airbox because it got damaged and thought I might as well upgrade
I am wanting to MODD a Fairing onto my 2013' Stryker! getting rid of the Stock headlight, and using either the front fairing from an R1 / MT-07 / MT-09 then color matching it to my Pearl White Stryker!!! any input on how to "Mount it" to my Stryker???
Hey Brian, first off, thanks for all these videos. I've used them to do everything on my 16 R1 from installing my full Ti Graves kit, smog block off plates, and setting up my ftecu bench kit (the only thing I couldn't find a video for was my active tune, but it was easy enough). So please keep up the great work! Quick question about this part... I went on to your website to order this piece for my R1, and it says it's a race only part. Just curious if there is any certain reason why it can't be used on a road bike? I have an 06 R1 I use for the track, and my 16 is just more of a fun/show bike. I've done a full carbon fairing body, and would like to add this part to finish it off. Obviously if this piece won't work on road fairings or something like that, then it makes sense. But wanted to check with you before I ordered it. Thanks again!
The carbon model has been beefed up to carry the headlights so you are good to go. We just updated the listing to make note of this. Thanks for watching the videos and I am happy to hear they are helpful! - Brian Van
stupid question, but i'm halfway through this install...but where is the MAF sensor located? i don't recall seeing it on the stock air duct, unless i missplaced it.
Anyone else keep finding the OEM air intake/stay keeps cracking? no wonder the new 2020 ones are made of metal, without this part the fairings start shaking abnormally
The OEM one on my bike was fine when I took it off and this Motoholders did not have any issues. If they started making it out of metal rather than the plastic odds are they were trying to correct an issue. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear it seems to break around the 1 year mark, I ride year around and in spring fall it gets really windy in Toronto wonder if it introduces additional stress
I bought this piece for Yamaha r1 and I'm struggling with the install the 4 big bolts with the metal spacers that attach it to the frame. Do NOT line up 100% like oem and I can only manage to get 3 of the 4 bolts in the holes I've been pushing and forcing trying to get them to fit for 2 + hours and I'm stressed out exhausted. Don't know what to try next. I'm really scared I've worn some of the threads in the hole on the frame for one of the bolts .. 😔
IMO the grill is not necessary, you have an air filter in the box to keep the debris out. I had ours apart several times after installing this and never found any issues. - Van
With all the different exhaust modifications, you'v done. how come you never added a power commander to the motorcycle? Can you guys do a power commander install video?

Brian I am about to purchase this from you But first I have a few questions. My stock duct already has had the air flapp removed so upgrading to this unit will better air flow be had? Is it a tad bigger better flow. And will this work with my stock fairings and headlights is the next big question
There are a lot of riders using this on the street with their lights and such. Motoholders had to beef the thing up so it would hold up on the street. As for the air flow you should get a little more than with the stock bits. - Van

Hello. Do you still use the DB holder? I am considering the DB Holder option instead. How does it work for you? Durable? Fitment with Stock fairings or race fairings?
As I understand it this valve and flap are designed to help reduce noise levels. You will not notice any real difference and the intake will now be unrestricted. - Van
