    For clamping during glue-up, why not use a vacuum bag as well? It applies very even pressure, and is used a lot in guitar building, for example.

    • @leboxon9407
      @leboxon9407 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The part pressed wasn’t filled evenly, only a few strips of foam inside, with vacuum it would have collapsed or the glue would burst out due to the pressure

    I have never been more inspired to give a try at making a carbon fiber anything. This was a great video my friend. I'm to look into a few parts to make on my car now. Definitely need a standout design like this to make my car one of a kind.

    Gorgeous as always! Sorry for your car though, I hope you guys settled it.
    Anyway, have you done a carbon fiber phone case before? That'd be dope! Since it's smaller, simpler, and also cheaper on the material too, maybe more people will be able to actually start learning how to create carbon fiber stuff

      Anodising creates a thick enough barrier between the carbon and the aluminium, and the bonding adhesive gives enough space between the pieces too

      @@nottherealjk Yeah I'm using aluminum to mount some items on a monocoque I am making. I have read the info and plan on using a thin sheet of fiberglass over the aluminum plates. But IDK.. Hello friend.
      I fixed the insert mounts that connect the wing and the upright, and those mounts were bonded in place on the 3D printed mold.
      We bonded other insert mounts based on those mounts.
      I didn't think an indexing pins were needed.

    very interesting idea as a maker, but couldn't you make this design into an active aero system? it seems you have the adjustment design well, but if you could add some strong motors to the rear wing, it could have the wing angle under braking, for example
