I'm so grateful that you're letting us see the parts of the show you initially didn't want to share because it wasn't "perfect." This makes it so relatable and real because so much of social media is cropped and edited and so misleading. Thanks for keeping it real with us. I'm really proud of both of you! 💕🐴💕🥕🍎
Agreed!
Absolutely agree! Thank you!
Agreed
Ooo I’m excited to watch this! Thanks for showing us it’s not always sunshine and rainbows with horses and social media!
You guys did great for your first show!! My horse got down and rolled with me on her in the practice ring when we first walked in lol. It does get better with more lessons and building trust with each other! ❤ good boy Tucker!!
It's actually really interesting to see things not going perfectly and someone commenting on what went wrong. And it shows strength of character to be able to deal with things not going right calmly so I'd say this video is a big success in its own right!
Tucker is such an adorable little guy and he definitely did well for himself too :)
Thank you for showing us the reality of doing a show for the first time! We are always told it’s ok to fail and to try again but social media paints a different picture in terms of only showing your accomplishments and none of the process it took to get there. Thank you for being real!!! Well done to you and tucker!!!
I love your attitude about how he did! You are very fortunate to have a venue that lets you school around like that. Many shows around here, even the warmups, have the 2nd stop elimination rule which makes it extra stressful when you are trying to get a horse around a course at a show for the first time. The jumps always seem bigger at a show....always lol!
I love how understanding you are and how positive you are with tucker ♥️
I'm so glad you shared this!!! First shows are almost never perfect... my gelding and I just did walk trot for his first show. It had also rained that morning, and he'd never been in a rodeo sized arena/show environment. I thought he was going to lose it, but instead he walked calmly into the arena, and proceeded to plop right down on the ground with me on him. He didn't roll, but he just thought it was such a nice soft spot. One of the show attendants came by saying, "ma'am, you can't do that here. We have to reset all the equipment, and you're in the way" as we're on the ground... I almost died from embarrassment.
Poor tucker… he was trying his best 😂
This is SO cute! It’s nice to see that other people have “not so perfect “ horses too. Thanks for sharing your loving relationship with us💕
Tucker really did his best 😂
Gorgeous boy Tucker! He is so wonderful and he did his best ! 💕💕💕👍👍👍👍👍
I am proud of you and Tucker. We are all on a learning curve. What an adventure to do your first jumping class; what courage it took for both of you. Thank you for sharing this because it strengthens my sense of belonging, of being in a community of learning and support.
Little Tucker so cute!!! Thanks for sharing and being authentic and candid. Looking fwd to seeing you progress with Tucker he is a adorable!!!
Thanks for posting this! You guys did great at your first show. I got dismissed by the judge the first show I had with my inexperienced horse... lol. It's just part of the process.
This is what I love about your channel. You show the real image of the horse world!
I'm so glad to see such an experienced horse person having a rough day out because i always feel like everyone else is so much more confident and accomplished than me.
It WAS a win! Thank you for sharing it. Tucker's got game!
THIS SHOW WAS YOUR "LESSON"! Alvaro and I went to World Equestrian Center in Ocala yesterday and watched some Arabian and barrel racing events. It's an amazing place but sometimes misses the "point" of having a horse you love and doing the small fun things that really matter. It is not about trophies and ribbons and winning. Connecting with your horse and both of you having a blast is all that really matters❣
Go Tucker! Good job boy!
Thanks for being genuine, and sharing parts that were not perfect. Tucker looked adorable and you could tell he was trying to please. You both looked great over the fences!
Love and appreciate your humble honesty. You and Tucker are both winners in my book!
You are so encouraging and inspirational. Thank you so much for posting!
Congratulations, that was great for all of your firsts or not for a long time! Non-equestrians have NO idea everything one has to deal with starting with loading. You should be proud!
Thank you so much for sharing this! This is a much more accurate representation of a horses first time out or a person who is new to showing! I really appreciate it because I am hesitant to go to shows for fear of not being totally 'ready', this inspires me to get out and give it a go!
go tucker!! i’ve shown cattle for 8 years but i’m trying to learn more about other animals and how they show. thank you for showing all the imperfect stuff too, it’s very rare that a show goes perfectly :)
Thank for showing that’s it not all perfect and that horses are animals that speak another language! Incredibly brave to show not just footage that is perfect.I think you did amazing! be proud!
Humility. Glad to see it.
Thank you for the video!
This is a great video. What I got out of it is that training takes a lot of time and work. And the process is more important than the result. As in life. You've been training Tucker consistently and with love and you both understand each other so well! So impressive! Thank you.
❤️☝️this ❤️
I have enjoyed the training with Tucker.
Lol, the first clip😂 good boy Tucker!
And the crowd cheers!!!!🎉
Well don’t you guys!!!!
I love your positive attitude about the whole thing, you take into account the fact you could have done better but instead of feeling bad about it you remembered that Tucker did good and with more practice you can succeed.
I know it may not seem fun for things to not go smoothly for us, but I find this video hysterical and funny to watch in a good way ♥️ I think sometimes we just got to have fun with it when are horses don’t go so smoothly lol
I’m so proud of you and Tucker! I love how real you are and I appreciate you sharing real life! Hugs to both you… for him having all those things that make him nervous to begin with he did awesome.
Tucker looking like a rockstar!
The more you take your horses out and about, the better. its all about new experiences! :)
I think you guys did swell! I love how you are so understanding of his worries. I wish I could ride as well as you! Keep it up!!
Good boy Tucker. He is a beautiful horse.
I don’t think it’s a fail, I think it’s a great experience to build on. Well done 👍🏻
Thank you so much for posting this my first show was so bad I did not do good I got last I was so embarrassed 😞 you made me feel much better .
Thank you for being honest! Some people are like "oH we gOt 1St 1st anD 1sT we were like the best out of evErYoNe!."
However, everyone knows that the showing world is... um Well a showing world
You didn’t fall off and you both stayed in the ring, I call that a success! I’ll be thrilled if my horse’s first show goes this well. I always say my goal will be not to get disqualified.
Poor Tucker. That was a little scary, but he did such a good job! You both did! I look forward to seeing your next show. I can't wait to see how Tucker has progressed!
Great accomplishment!! A few more times both of you will do better and better!!! Good boy, Tucker ❤
Thank you for this! I have a nervous 4yo and I am always hesitant to take her away from home. I’m trying to learn that going and placing last is better than not going at all. You two did great and this was an accomplishment!
I'm so glad you posted this, I've always been too afraid to jump but now I see as long as you're having fun, nothing else matters!
so nice to see a younger horse trying his best! :))
Jumps always seems bigger and higher than they are 😅
I love this honesty, that's probably how my first show will go lol
What an inspirational video!! Good for you and Tucker!!
Now he has a feel for it! Good for you he was very brave!
He has the best little trot!
Awesome job Tucker!!! So proud of you buddy! More exposure and you will be smoking it!! 💙🐴❣️ Thanks for showing the real footage! He was not perfect (a bit anxious) but he was amazing!❤️❤️
Well done! Love your attitude and Tucker. Keep it up
I was doing an equitation flat for my first show and warming up my horse took a complete nosedive when he tripped over the footing. We were both having an incredibly off day and placed last but we tried our best! Thanks for posting a real view of his first show, not something airbrushed to perfection :)
Good job! It is so good to watch you. Thank you!
I was really curious how people get their horses used to shows and then this popped up! Thank you!
amazing tucker!! congratulations carmella
Can't wait to watch it I'm sure Tucker will do great!
Tucker was such a good boy!
You are soooo real, and I love it so much! Congratulations on Tucker’s first show and to you for handling him so well!
Yay you and tucker did great! Good job!
I love your videos!!!!! I love how you train your horses! We had a horse that at his first show he stopped in the middle of his jumping round to go to the bathroom🤣🤣
Dearest Carmella-This is EXACTLY why I love and admire you SO MUCH, and watch all your videos- because you keep it REAL-and relatable. I am SO glad that you posted the good bad and ugly (nothing was ugly!). When I get my next horse, I will continue to look to you for real advice and hope-AND LAUGHS AND LOVE. (PS-one thing I can really relate to is how certain things "feel" on your horse when you are riding and then you watch yourself on video and it looks so much easier --or "smaller"!) TUCKER IS A VERY GOOD BOY!!!!🤩🥰😍💘💝💖💗💓💞💕❣❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🤍💯!!! YAY FOR YOU BOTH!!
Nice and glad you put this up . He’s beautiful!
This was such a great idea ... to show how things really are and not just the perfect stuff. We can all relate working with our horses or dogs in my case. It's a process and something to enjoy.
Good job sticking with it!
He did so good, if my horse was like that, I’d reward the smallest try.
Keep going your really good!!
Tucker keep being the good boy u are😊
I’m glad you posted this! Great work!
Well done for showing how it actually goes, not just the "pony movie: wins jumper class at first attempt ". I think that you have the right attitude, it was a schooling show and you know what to work on for next time and have that lesson 👍😊🏇 Tucker is as cute as a button and reminds me of our Connemara pony, without complete conviction going into the jump, he'll slow down and look 👀
Good Luck tucker!!💛
The minion jump got me 😂
So proud of you guys!! This gives me confidence to try and go to a show this year. I’ve never been to one! They’re intimidating in my head, but the show you went to was so chill!
That was fun. My mare has a similar flighty personality to Tucker... just enough to kind of think everything is scary even though she is quite broke. I have been taking lessons and my trainer asked if I ever wanted to show and I first was like, nah, just want to chill. But the more I thought about it, maybe just as a "get out and get experience" way, maybe.
I used to show successfully in my teens, but am more realistic now (30 years later). Hehe.
I'm so glad that you see this as an accomplishment, because that's what it is! As someone who competes quite a bit at both low-key schooling shows as well as recognized shows, I agree that it is so important to have REASONABLE expectations when showing, just like you did here! (Personally, I have a difficult time being reasonable hahaha). Just like posting the trot or anything else we learn on our horse, showing is a skill that takes practice. My horse always feels different off property and I feel different too 😂 I'm so glad you shared this and had such a positive experience, you guys got out there and did great!
I wish more people posted videos like this!
So excited to watch
lovely video, so proud of you and tucker!
Thank you for sharing! I love that you said this was a win, I agree. Not all wins come with ribbons, most of them are personal accomplishments. You guys did great ❤❤❤❤
Way to be authentic!!! That’s awesome!!! As a relatively beginner rider, I felt the same nervousness when I first started showing at our local fun shows in WP, EP, ranch rail, English equitation (no jumping…I draw the line there…lol)
What a great experience for both of you, gosh we're all out here doing the same thing....I'm still back about refusal to trailer load, hahaa.
Congratulations!
Tucker did great for his first time!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Your videos help me and my horse, Comanche, so much!! Once my cousins were over and I jumped on my old pony backwards and he started bucking and rearing and would NOT stop! It was so embarrassing! Can you do some more trick videos? They`re really fun!
Way to go guys! This stuff is tough. I've shown now twice during our super mellow Friday night shows. Between remembering everything to do with your posture, not stopping riding, the course, not tensing up, having an audience, and your horse's opinion about where it wants to go, I reckon something's gotta give haha 😅 And this is with really awesome lesson horses
super excited to watch!❤
👣💖🐎 A courageous couple!
Yinz did really great. If you sit up straighter between jumps and bring down tucker's head a bit between jumps and bring his head back up a few strides before, might help before your lessons start.Yinz did really great. scrunching up between jumps affects you and tucker.🏇
I love that you share the real stuff! Haha, I thought you and Tucker were awesome! I would be happy if my horses did that well at a first show :D
Thank you so much for posting this! I brought my first training project horse to her first show this year and it looked a lot like yours, but she is more “hot”! I was still SO proud and I love to see how you handled it!! Great job!
hi equine helper i love your videos ❤
He did so well
My horse was just like that at our first show.
Hoping that that the second horse is a bit calmer.🤣
OK so it isn’t an ‘insta’ version of horse shows but it wasn’t that bad at all. Those last 2 jumps were nice and smooth and end on a positive👍 I think it’s good experience for him. Nothing went dreadfully wrong and it’ll be easier for you to build up confidence from here after a drama free low key trip out. Mostly positive in my mind✅ x
Please you need a 14 ft rope to keep you safe. He really was so scared, he was so impressive putting his faith in you and going around the course. Going over a second time just shows he is a really honest fellow and will try for you. Too bad about the missed lesson. He's a great little horse you can be proud of him. Susan
Could you do DIY jumps pls i would to see your ideas
Yes! This will be coming soon!
@@CarmellaAbel Yay!
I’ve never seen a horse tacked up pre-float before. Guess it’s not the norm in Australia
Aww he did so well :)
I had my own first showjump 2 weeks ago, and i went off course too. But i didnt mind i had so much fun!
Do you have a lunge line? I think it would help Tucker so he can go around in a bigger circle! Tuckers so cute.
I love this 🤩
