It's refreshing to see someone who's not (pretending to be) perfect and reflecting on what they and their horse could improve on while still being positive and kind to themselves. You guys looked great and it was super fun to watch you go. Tucker looks great in green!
This gives me so much hope with my 7 year old TB! He’s super kind with a great brain, just gets nervous in new situations. I’m an adult ammy rider, new to the sport, and I would love to get to do some shows next season. Tucker’s progress is fantastic and gives me hope with my own boy!
I have an 8 yo OTTB that me and my trainer are getting ready for the eventing and dressage show season. My family bought him in December of 2021 so w haven’t had him long and we have only done about 5 shows on him. I recommend a bunch of smaller local schooling shows. And then once your horse is comfortable with schooling shows you could work your way up to doing recognized shows.
Awww Tucker was so cute and it did look like he was having fun for sure! You both did so great! I can see how your relationship/bond you have, and the work you put in with him is really making you two a vibing team. I love how real and down to earth you are. I think you are a great human being and love watching the love you give to Tucker. Thanks for sharing! I can’t believe you guys hadn’t jumped since the last show and you both did soooo good. See you can trust Tuck…he’s got you 😜 he’s like “I got these jumps this time, let’s do this Mom!” 😬
I'm glad you and Tucker did well. It should be about recreation more than about winning. Becareful horse jumping can be dangerous. Jumping a low course is very wise.
So proud of you and Tucker and love watching your journey unfold. I also do appreciate how chill and just calming these videos are, they’re nice to just relax and watch after a day of school work aha
Such a great video Carmella!! I've seen many horse shows just like this one and I hope I can get there one day. You are such an inspiration to me and I thank you for that and I learn a lot from you, I've only done western riding but now I'm planning to try English and maybe I'll even try jumping! Btw Tucker is such a cutie! Keep doing what you're doing!!! 🐎🐴❤️
You guys did so great! Does this mean stepping up to 2 ft jumps? Or continue at 18 inches for more confidence building? I'm super proud of Tucker because he looked like he was enjoying himself and not spooky like you feared. Well done you two!
Thank you! We will step it up to 2 ft. My ultimate goal this year is to do some eventing; I think for this year we will do advanced green, which I think is usually around 2 ft. Depending how this year goals, next year we will aim for Beginner Novice!
As a kid going to shows with my lease pony I had such bad experiences because the barn I went to was very toxic and took local practice shows WAY too seriously - even the instructors were mean. last year I was leasing a new horse, rather green and I was still getting used to riding him. He was very different to the horse I ride for my lessons. I went to a show with him in September, first show since childhood. I was SO nervous because I didn't think I'd do very well and I was so afraid of the equestrian community being snarky. The actual show was a trainwreck - I did horribly lmao - Green horse; his first ever show; my first time jumping XC (ever); he ran out of 60% of the jumps and I didn't even finish the course... but everyone there was SO incredibly friendly and supportive and they said I did well considering he was being a bit of a handful. I'm so glad I did it. Haven't been to one since. Watching this video makes me feel like equestrians at shows are all just there for the experience. I know there will always be the odd horrible person, but I feel like the equestrian community as a whole is way more friendly than I thought it was. It's just nice.
Oh my goodness!!! You 2 did awesome 👏🏻 you are too critical of yourself which I get cause I do the same at shows and then I end up doing better than I thought like you did. And yes it gets tiring showing and getting ready for and cleaning up after . And yes it feels like you are flying and then you watch the video and you are like why are we so slow?😂 the way it feels and then looks is very different. Anyway great 👍🏻 job to the both of you!!!🥇🥇🥉🏅🤗
Omg I’ve been to the same place you went to I had a horse show there it was an overnight horse show it’s fun and the show grounds are so nice and beautiful
Congrats! Love seeing Tucker go! Yall Reinforce my belief that my little foundation bred QH mare can be a cute little jumper!🤞🏽and you are such a kind rider😊
I mainly find them in local Facebook horse groups. If you look up your area and put “equine events” or something like that, there may be groups that share events!
Y'all did awesome! Y'all really help me in so many ways! I really want to try to train my horse to jump and I hope maybe someday we'll be able to do shows. Also, I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how to get my horse from throwing me? He's 17 hands and I weigh 81 pounds (I'm thirteen) and he knows he can throw me anytime he wants, and now I've gotten to where I'm nervous to get back on him and I haven't ridden in a few months and I'm afraid to get back on...
Yes, usually a small fee! Also you would need to include transport for fuel too if its too far and you own a trailer. If you don't, you'd need to hire one which can vary from 60-150 for hire + fuel!
Im not sure why people like haveing there horse jump over unnessary things.i would only do it to teach him to jump over things in the wild when nessasary.Enjoy your ribbions though looks nice on the horse.

Thank you and I wish you the best! Our ultimate goal is to get into eventing, so I thought these little schooling shows could help!

Hey Camila, my pony got foxtail ulcers as it is sweeping the country right now. We found your article on it and it has helped so much! Thank you!
Thoroughly enjoy watching your adventures with your Tucker! It does make a big difference when you have such good support !
I think tucker is coming along so well! I think you did a fabulous job!
I'm glad you and Tucker did well. It should be about recreation more than about winning. Becareful horse jumping can be dangerous. Jumping a low course is very wise.
Looking great! Nice job and love the honesty
That was so fun! You did so good! Congrats on the placing but mostly on a good ride!

Good job! Much improved. Was this in Lexington, VA? I was just in my first ever dressage test and won for the Intro test I took. I was so stoked!

Omg I live in your state I went to finals there
What breed of horse is Tucker, and how many hands tall is he? :)
Hi I love your videos and I was wondering how did you find these shows im teaching my horse and I need shows like these
I mainly find them in local Facebook horse groups. If you look up your area and put “equine events” or something like that, there may be groups that share events!
@@CarmellaAbel oh ok tysm
Is this the Lexington Horse Center?
Has any one else noticed at the start when she was driving she held the steering wheel like raeins every equestrian does this 😂😂
😂😂😂😂
I didn’t know the horse center did jumper shows, though it was only hunter.

Epicc!
😃
Second!Love your videos ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for your support!
I went to my first show a few weeks ago and I had like 10 refusals
Does it cost money to do schooling shows? I really want to do some with my horse but normal H/J shows are really expensive and he’s not ready for that
Yes, usually a small fee! Also you would need to include transport for fuel too if its too far and you own a trailer. If you don't, you'd need to hire one which can vary from 60-150 for hire + fuel!
@@filly2299 Thanks 🙏!
Omg hi
How old is tucker?
First to comment!
Im not sure why people like haveing there horse jump over unnessary things.i would only do it to teach him to jump over things in the wild when nessasary.Enjoy your ribbions though looks nice on the horse.
Clipping a horse for one's ego is stupid and selfish.
