  • The present video namely Adenium Bonsai Secrets of Massive Caudex,Thick Canopy and More Flowers is a tutorial video showing how an adenium bonsai is grown with massive caudex,thick canopy and more flowers. First the desert rose plant is uprooted and the soil is washed out from the roots .Then the branches are trimmed for more branches resulting in more adenium flowers. Now the adenium plant is left hanging in shade for 10-15-days. This is the general process of making desert rose bonsai with massive caudex. The desert rose plant bonsai is now repotted lifting 1 inch of the main root above the soil. In course of time this one inch will be turned into the texture of caudex and the adenium plant bonsai will become a perfect adenium bonsai tree.
    I`m thankful to You Tube Audio Library for the music used in this video.
    dot basecamp is a tutorial channel on Pot Gardening . In this channel I am committed to share my experience as well as knowledge that I`ve gathered on Pot Gardening specially on growing of Adeniums .I`ve been stick to Pot Gardening for over 20 years. Once I started Pot Gardening with some season plants. That was the starting point of my journey. In other words that was my Base Camp. But now I`m far away from that Base Camp. And now my Base Camp looks like a dot. Still I`m a learner, almost mad for learning. In this channel I, along with my valued learners, want to learn how Pot Gardening, from making pots to blooming, is made so beautiful, almost incredibly beautiful.
    Videos on my adeniums, house plants, cactus, orchid and many experiments on adeniums, bonsai, pot making are generally uploaded in this channel. I have a little orchard in my terrace. I make videos on it though adenium is always my hot tea.
    If viewers are interested in adeniums and pot gardening and they like my channel, they may subscribe my channel and click on the bell icon to get notifications of my new videos. They are also free to leave any comments and suggestions.
    The general upload schedule of dot basecamp is around 7-00 PM every Saturday.

    I had to cut my plant down to Cortex do to freeze damage... I don’t applied fungicide because I didn’t know I had to do that but after a week plant is alive but it hasn’t sprout... I also haven’t watered it because I read so to freeze temps they go dormant. Can someone help me on what to do so that I can get new sprouts ?

    • @dotbasecamp

      Start watering if winter goes away and temperature rises. If you have got fungicide right now use it with water.

    Sir, can I use bonsai soil mix for adenium plant? My plant is growing tall, it's leaves are very big not flowering nd not making any sub brach. Any suggestion.

    • @dotbasecamp
      @dotbasecamp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nitrogen level of your soil is high comparing to potassium and phosphorus level.. Repot the plant in a shallow pot with low nitrogen riched soil. Add some bone meal and neem cake to the soil if possible. But don`t repot in rainy season or in winter.

Just use my common sense and applied turmeric powder. When I saw your video I am so happy that I am on right track. Thanks

    Nice video! So you cut excess roots and branches, dry, then replant by raising caudex to increase the size of the caudex and get more branches, yes? I have heard another say to bury the caudex deeper o get bigger fat caudex so it sure is confusing but I appreciate any tips you can offer.

    • @dotbasecamp
      @dotbasecamp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      More details need to understand the problem. If the plant is from cutting, it will not grow as fat caudex as plants from seeds.All the plants of a species do not grow equally fat caudex. only branch cut is not enough to force the plant grow big caudex. You may apply tap root cutting method as shown in the video ( for root borne plants).

    Please tell me the name of the anti- fungal I should use in the USA. I believe I heard you say that this one you're using is not available in the U.S. is that right?
    Edit: I see that you told another person to use cinnamon powder. 🙂
    My desert rose was knocked over a couple days ago. I've been wanting to try this process out. I believe now is the perfect time but I need all the necessary products you've used here. The anti-fungal being very important.
    One question about that, you were applying it to what looks like the caudex where the roots are growing from. Is this where you had sliced off the roots?
    Thank you 🙂🙏

    • @dotbasecamp
      @dotbasecamp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Search fungicide available in your local market. Otherwise use cinnamon powder. Use fungicide on the cut, may be its caudex, root or branch.
      Do you mean "sliced of the root " for radial roots ? Then cut at the juncture of the caudex & the main root or a little bit lower to the root.
