      I let the plant grow in natural way for a life cycle year i.e. growing(after 1st potting ) - flowering - -dormancy - growing ( You see one cycle is over and the plant comes back to growing stage again.) Then I judge its root shape and decide for a project.I repot in deep pot for long roots and in shallow pots for short /radial roots and fat caudex. I also set the roots in position the ai want in future. It needs some repotting i.e. some years.

      @Tearstank 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Instead of use SAAF (toxic) you can use a mix of pure sulfur and cinnamon. If you mix it with beeswax you get a paste you can apply. You can also mix with the balsam you buy to cover cuts on trees. Works also as anti fungal mix.

    Dear Master, thank you for this video. Do you think the cinnamon is not as good as the fungicide? Could you tell me, please, what is the minimum surviving night temperature fot Adeniums?

    • @dotbasecamp
      @dotbasecamp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Cinnamon is used as fungicide but I`ve no experience how good it is because I never use it. If adeniums are dry and in dormancy they could survive from 32 degree F. Other times it`s fatal to them.Below 50 DF for several days may cause root rot and branch tips damage. So above 50 degree F is safe though not favorite to adeniums.

    Why it need to hanged/dried up? What happen if you repot it directly? TIA

    • @dotbasecamp
      @dotbasecamp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Benefits of hanging actually for drying
      1. A little drying helps the cut wounds heal quickly.
      2. Drying instigates the plant to produce more feeder roots to search for water and nutrient( as it had been in fasting for some days ) and store them in the storage organ i.e. the caudex. As a result the plant springs to life with more branches and the caudex grow massive.
      If we repot it directly , there is a chance of rotting from major cut wounds.
