There's nothing nerdy about loving Rush. Rather, it's a sign of impeccable taste. In the Rush family, everyone's welcome. Peace and Rush on from Exeter, UK.
Although I usually don't like these kind of "fan" videos, this one was a lot better than most. I really enjoyed it. I always thought the story behind "Red Barchetta" would make a great premise for a video game ... or movie ...
A high-speed joyride across the Californian coastline. The wind blowing in my face as the palm trees whizz past me, creating two solid lines of green. No limits, no worries, no destination. Just...drive.
Glad I saw Rush in Mobile Alabama in 1981. Just graduated from electronics tech school at Keesler AFB and was heading to Korea in a couple weeks. Made up to the 4th row in front of the stage.
absolutely beautiful!!! amazing burnout pics!!! I owned a root beer brown '69 bee back in high school, in '84.i got tears when i saw this wondeful video! soo many memories! so many cases of beer won with my fine-tuned 383! thank you so much for this vid! the pistol grip was always a topic of conversation. i just bought a '68 bee from a salvage yard, bought it the day it was going to the crusher.. my wife does not understand my love.... i will bring it back to its glory days!! one of the best looking and performing muscle cars ever..... thanks man!
When I was a 12 year old kid Rush Moving Pictures was the first album I ever owned. My Mom bought it for me. I listened to it over and over again hundreds of times.I still have it. I once asked her how she came to pick that album and she had no recollection of getting it for me.
BTW: On the side pannel just under the doors was the "crest" or the "F" for the Fiat line. Next to it was the word: "barchetta" Dreams do come true, and some never die. The car is long gone now and at 51, I still remember it like an old friend. Maybe one day I'll buy another, paint it red and get the interior done up in black. Put the top down, put the shades on and see what she can do...AGAIN! Robert Brandon Sandor
FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!!!! i'll be going to my 50th RUSH concert this summer, this is one of the coolest vids i've ver seen!!! i used to build mopars, and always loved B bodys!!!
Neil Peart credits the song was inspired by the futuristic short story " A Nice Morning Drive", by Richard Foster and published in the November 1973 issue of Road and Track magazine
My favourite Rush song! Your vid captures the essence really well. I can smell that hot metal and oil, the scented country air. The willing engine responding with a roar! A very nice job and a very nice car!!
I used to listen to the vinyl of this as a teenager late at night, It's very surreal watching this as it's right out of my imagination. The countryside just as I pictured it, even the uncle looks like I pictured him:) thanks for the flashback
At eleven years old, THIS was the song I wanted to play on drums. I don't know how much sleep my parents lost because of me hacking away, but I got it before my twelfth birthday! Great photo montage; Great song. Iv'e watched it three times and I still get goosebumps. RUSH!!
FYI. Fiat barcheeta was built from 95-2005. Moving pictures was released 2/28/81. The song was based on a book called "A nice morning drive". Also, barchetta is italian for little boat or a 2 seated stripped down sports car. The car in this vid is bad ass muscle. Rare beauty. That things gotta tear ass.
Incredible job my friend. You really captured the flavor of the song. I felt as though I were there. Thank you Sir for putting this together. To bad others cant just say "Thanks"...........
It was back in the summer of 1979 when I bought my first car (with my own money), I was living in Tucson, AZ., 20 years old and stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. My car? A 1974, Fiat 124 Spyder, 5 speed convertable... RED with black interior. Top down, sunglasses (shades) on with the wind in my hair....imortal. In 1981, I drove it solo to my home town of Greenwich, CT and later shipped the car to West Germany as I was to be stationed at Ramstein AB. The Autoban was SWEET! THNX
Ignore the trolls, Great video! I love what you did here, very creative. The funny things is, those guys dogging your video will never know the joy of driving one of these musclecars. Owned 3 1970 Chargers myself.
This Was In My English Literature Book In 9th Grade....1978..... In Between Chapters... As A Filler..... Amazed I Was When I Heard This Song..... A Morning Drive ...🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦😎
Absoltely f'nin' awesome vid bro'. I absolutely dig the way you put the scenes together to follow the song. Especially "I avoid the eyes", seems those little invasions of our privacy are everywhere
I googled and found that Neil Peart finally met Foster after he found out that Rush's song was based on his short story. They both were BMW motorcycle riders and arranged a ride through Virginia or Maryland or somewhere. Then they rode to Rush's concert and Foster said he liked it. =o)
I normally crank up my music in my car going down the road and turn it down when stopped at a light or stop sign so as to not look like an asshole. But "Red Barchetta" and a few other Rush songs get no such treatment. They get every last turn of the volume until the speakers start to crackle.

Blah, blah, blah, Ferrari. The vid is a labor of love, great job and way to bring the song to life. Love the tune...and the car makes your vid--good on you.
I don't want to criticize today's music because it will make me sound old. But the lyrics of this song tell such a great story that keeps you hanging to see how it ends. Who writes lyrics like that any more?
beautiful ca! but a barchetta (little boat)is the body style of one of the ear;liest ferraris, a tiny 2 seat open top with no provision for a roof and 'aero screen' type windshiel;ds. cool mopar, though.
Listening to this album in my dad's basement is what really convinced me to give music a shot. RIP Neil, the world's a less magical place without you.
Pope Brandon Brownson Les Claypool posted a great note on IG about him.🥁

kenny cosby I grew up on Rush.🥁
I will remember him and Jacob's Ladder whenever I am in a thunderstorm. And I'll say a silent Thank You as I walk among The Trees in a woodsy area.

Rest easy Neil. You and the boys made me feel good about being a nerdy Canadian girl.
You are a treasure to behold young lady.

Two great things that go great together.
Awesome. I proved my friend wrong too! He said that a Barchetta was a tractor -_-
I said "NO ITS A CAR!" awesome video, I love this song!
In the early 80" this was my favorite song and after 30 years it still is. Canada really did it with Rush 👍 🇨🇦

This is my favorite Rush song and the video is absolutely beautiful. Thank you.
I have been a RUSH fan or over 30 years and I can tell you that this video is PERFECT, thank you!
My favorite Rush song, and that says a lot. No romantic drama, nor drugs, just a celebration of both Nature and Technology.
spelled with capital letters as if they were religions of their own

Back when this song was released, it reminded me about the movie The Last Chase with Lee Majors as the main character.

Truly devastating drumming.
Fiendishly difficult, even if you can remember it.
Great fade-out.
