Plunder fun fact the cyrtarachne on prismatic works with any grenade including forunners rock with heart of inmost light you can throw rock, grenade, gunpowder and have woven mail and increase melee and class regen. Hey Plunder, I run a different version of this build which I think provides a higher amount of DR but at a much more consistent level. Rather than running the Exotic Class Item, you use the new exotic Chest Piece of Hunter, Gifted Convictions. Gifted Convections primary perk states that Jolting an enemy combatant grants you a stack of Resist. Not Woven Mail, nor Frost Armor, or any other type of DR, but Resist. At 4 Stacks (Witch requires you to Jolt 4 enemies, a very easy thing to do) you get a 50% Damage Resist. You pair this with Purpose while using either a Stasis or Strand super for more DR, either through Frost Armor or Woven Mail. Galvanic Armor will also be active, as you will be using Ascension, meaning constant Amplification, meaning even more DR. All the While, I pair this with Threaded Spike which causes sever, a debuff that causes a 40% reduction in outgoing damage to all enemies severed, and Dusk Field Grenade to freeze Combatants Ascension acts similarly to Shatter Dive, being that it can instantly shatter enemy combatants that are frozen and Stasis Crystals. Dusk Fields are a great way to consistently freeze enemy combatants allowing you to approach them, Ascension, and then get both Resist and Galvantic Armor, all the while, having a way to spawn orbs, either through weapons, abilities, or any other number of ways. On top of this, you will go invisible while using Stylsih Executioner, meaning not only will you be invincible, but you will also be invisible. Either the right mods, this means your melee comes back sooner, your class ability comes back sooner, and this allows you to spec into Resistance and Discipline. The ONLY negative to this build is that it lacks kill power against bosses, witch can easily be rectified with a good heavy, and it has trouble consistently spawning orbs unless you sacrifice your Energy Slot for a Jolting Weapon, to make the most effective use of the Exotic Chest piece. You’ll be using your abilities so often that the suggestion is that you use A Rocket Sidearm. Your kinetic slot can be reserved for Champion stunning, and to help augment your Boss damage, so Arbalest is the best choice.

I started playing 2 months ago, and recently got the final shape. This build has been my goal since the beggining. And now that I've finish it I can finally say without a doubt that I suck at this game and no build can change that.
If I went with the exotic class armor, I’d prefer: Spirit of Inmost Light Spirit of Cyrtarachne This way, I use my grenade to get woven mail and it gives my other abilities quicker ability regeneration.
I've been using that combo for a few weeks now on a build similar to this one? It's a ton of fun! Woven Mail came in clutch more than a few times in the GM for this week. XD it's great for solo running dungeons too!
@@osirispatience4874 well tell that to the majority of the community. Besides, I’ve tried builds (that were top tier for soloing certain dungeons at the time). I did exactly what was shown in the TH-cam videos and I dealt hardly any damage to the boss. For example: first boss in Duality dungeon. I was trying to complete that solo completion triumph (in one day without ever leaving the activity). In the TH-cam videos, I saw these people like 2 or 3 phasing the boss solo. And when I tried the exact same method as them, I dealt very little amount of damage. It would have taken me 20 phases if I was lucky.
IMPORTANT: Galanor on the class item works with tether BUT you have to get a few kills within 2-3 seconds of casting tether. As after that tether kills will not get any super energy from that galanor perk.

If I remember correctly, Reaper, or any mods/effects that proc off class ability usage don't activate off using Ascension, since it's an air move, rather than your dodge. Should I just use something like Utility Kickstart in its place?
To add to that, it appears from the gameplay footage that gamblers dodge doesn't refund melee when using ascension. So probably better to run marksman dodge instead for shorter cooldown.
I think making builds that only require one perk on the exotic class item while leaving the other slot flexible will be a great way to get people on board. A lot of people hate builds that need 2 specific perks but also want some builds that use class items so they’re not useless, so I think this is a good way to make most people happy haha. Time to search for a class item to use this build!!!
@@masonhurley9713 I personally think it’s because of how difficult it is to get that perk combo you want in the exotic class armor. It takes forever to farm for your ideal combo, due to how low the luck is based on RNG. If Bungie makes it a lot easier to get the perks you want, then I’m sure that hate will go away.
Considering the exotic perks from the class items are either cut in half or dimished you outta focus on double synergy. You can make prismatic builds with base exotic anyway so eh...getaway Warlock is absolutely goated.

pair this with spirit of calibans and suddenly all of your thread spike kills cause ignitions. fantastic. now if only i could get a class item that didn’t have spirit or gyrfalcons i’ll be set
The craziest part about this finding this vid, is that prior to seeing it, I was by complete coincidence already using this build. The only exceptions being that I was using Blink for my jump and Silkstrike as an air brake to mess around flying at high speed in Mayhem.

Taking that piece of fine print on the exotic helmet and opening up a whole other corridor of loopage possibility reminds me of how you worked Cadmus Ridge Lancecap in your prismatic Titan earlier in the seasopisode. Really like this build. I was running it for a bit with the helmet, and then when I did Dual Destiny for the first time, I managed to pull Assassin and Cyrtarachne as my two perks. I just masterworked it a couple hours ago, and got a tier up in almost every stat I had. I personally like Assassin as the first perk, as having a way to go invisible without needing Stylish Executioner saves the time that would’ve been spent with me getting shot to death while switching, if I happened to be out in the open. Because of this, it’s been very helpful in clutch moments, when I needed to quickly revive a fireteam member. I don’t even need to do much of anything different than I would during the normal gameplay loop; I get a kill with Treaded Spike, a Grapple Melee, or a finisher, and I’m set. Granted, killing higher health mobs with them can be tricky, but red bars are a dime a dozen no matter where you are. I’ve honestly needed a change of pace for a while with my build. I’m used to hanging a decent ways back with Sunshot and just making entire rooms explode. While effective, I was so safe in my approach that it killed the fun after a while. This build is a lot more up close and personal with enemies, and actually has some decent built-in movement tech with Grapple Grenades and Ascension, if you do it right and just don’t need them for anything coming up. Absolutely love it. Great work. Keep it up.
@@conradcallanta8742 To be fair, I’m still trying to get all 12 points for the artifact. Not really much I can experiment with right now, I think I have 5, maybe 6 so far. I know I’m a ways behind, but life outside the screen is hectic at best. Tell you what, though, I’ll get back to you when I do reach that point.
Been using a similar build for a couple of weeks. I switch up the super based on the content but mostly use the strand super because it's both good damage and ad clear. Also, you have infinte class ability in your strand super and can keep activating ascension as if you had radiant dance machines equipped. I don't know if coolguy mentioned the stat breakdown and i missed it, but you only need 50 mobility for this build. Amplified gives you +50 mobility so you can spec stats elsewhere since you will be amplified a ton. I have seen other build setups like this one and they have missed that bit of info. Currently, the mods that say use class ability dont work with ascension besides utility kickstart. They will still work with your regular dodge if you have ascension aspect equipped though. Hopefully bungie fixes it like they did with ensnaring slam on strand hunter. Also, gun powder gamble counts as a grenade because it does proc demo on my weapons. But the fragment that cures on grenade kills currently doesn't work with gun powder gamble. Another thing for bungie to fix. This has been my favorite and most fun build on hunter. Grapple meleeing into enemies, proccing ascension before hitting the ground, throwing a gun powder gamble while in the air, shooting a rocket next, watching everything explode and die. Strand hunter with threaded specter and the shuriken tangles close 2nd for me.
@@mutsuhanma7807 I haven't used ergo sum much yet since I haven't gotten the catalyst from the gm. I can picture it though, definitely would be satisfying.
They fixed the gpg it cures now. Also the dodge ability isn't bugged Bungie said it's intended to not work with ascension only dodge. U could always run spirit of coyote with cyrtaracne if u want the extra dodge for orb pickups
This is such a great all rounded build, that wouldn't lose its usage season to season. Just the DR will be reduced due to losing an artifact mod! Now this is why plunder is the plug for builds.
It can sometimes be weak on dealing with overloads (making sure u have ascention ready for that) the other area it sort of lacks is ad clear in top level stuff where threaded spike doesnt always 1 shot redbars and we have no way to kinda chain kills like voltshot but nothin is ever perfect. I enjoy this same exotic class item often but find myself running vs indebted kindness and either thunderlord or microcosim. Ill pair those with blast furnace and the fragment that lets kenetic weapons count as dark damage and basically have great ad clear as well as very good barrier and overload clear. Just have to make sure ur getting galvanic armor up as much as possible, frost armor and still get woven mail from transendence and grapple.

Have a similar build just no grapple, i use dusk field because my class item rolled with spirit of renewal and spirit of cyrtarachne. Its pretty nuts dr.
That's the roll I've been wanting. I used a Renewal Grasps build going through the legendary campaign and I've been wanting that combo since I saw it but my luck has been terrible outside of the popular melee combos.
Unfortunately, GPG does not work with facet of mending, this is a known bug and bungie addressed it unless they fixed it when I wasn't looking also, sadly, foetracer does not work with GPG. I tried it, and buff to solar weapons was nowhere there. no idea what happened there, considering that GPG does count as a grenade ability for cyrtarachnes and HOIL.
I believe that for foe tracer and verity, GPG is interacting with the underlying grenade element, even though it does solar damage. So for this build with grapple grenade I think it would boost / be boosted by strand.
Very fun looking build :) I don't have a class item with what i need, but I have a really good roll on a straight up Cyrtarachne helm. Been a bit tired of the standard hunter builds out there so... this looks very nice :) good stuff man :)
I tried it over a couple of days, thinking arc subclass, gifted conviction, ascension and skip grenades would be strong enough with the Artifact mods (as there are so many synergies on paper), but came to the conclusion that it just doesn’t cut it in GM level content
Oh this will be fun! Can you make a build using Ergo Sum? Specifically an arc one with arc conductor? I’ve been using something similar to this build using Ergo Sum for my exotic. You can get the arc shield, fly around with your grapple and you chain lightning EVERYTHING in your path. Lots of fun and great add clear, at least in base nightfall content. I’d love so see what you could do with it. Edit: (Oh, and “my build” is based on another of yours)
Hey Plunder, great video! Just curious what fragment you would swap out for Facet of Dawn since we need radiant? Since we don't have the artifact perk for radiant this season.
tested this build with a class item with spirit of inmost light and Cyrtarachne and learned that using Asencsion does not count as class ability but gunpowder gamble does
Been running a build similar to this. In my opinion godroll on the class Item for this is inmost/cyrtarachne. This will help keep your dodge and grenade full that way you can trigger them for damage resist whenever.
I like this build gonna runnit with song of ir yut though for those explosion kills after melee shoulder tackle though. If it doesn't work out, I'll change it back to matching void machine gun
you get free grapple by grappling to tangle also swapping to Bloodlines gives you Devour, which is better than Cure cause it heals on ANY kill and extends
Yeah with the fragment you also get volatile rounds. But i think the idea was for gunpoweder gamble just for that cause a solar weapon. And i also believe plunder tries to bring in some variety always and burried bloodline is pretty popular this season. And you can run out of devour too and its not always easy to proc it
I have a similar build but my super is golden gun marksman, i love that this build is not your basic combo blow and grapple. Very unique build indeed P.S new sub
plunder would u consider looking back at starfire with helion? becuase double explody fusion nades, and constant grenade energy back with helion ignitions if u use fragment of blistering I think it is, and if you get a kill with ur nade it refunds ur pheonix dive as well
Since this is an Ascension build, could Gifted Conviction be swapped in for its Resist x4? I have been loving that build on Arc (infinite Blind and Jolt thanks to infinite Amplified is potent, not to mention all the DR), but have been curious what it would look like on Prismatic and without an Indebted Kindness. This seems like a really good shell for it, esp since as a solo player I will likely NEVER get an Exotic class item, let alone the correct one.

Currently I have the class item with Cyrt and Inmost Light.. and man it cooks. The ability spam, plus the woven mail, plus (for this season at least) Shieldcrush and the radiant aspect/facet? It’s just wild. I have been trying it out with different abilities though, but your build is definitely one I am going to try
I’ve been using a similar build with bloodline (similar exotic perks on class armor) on the arc super for amp but I’m thinking about switching to ascension and squall for that extra dr. Thanks for the build man!
I think they silently nerfed this combo with the cyrtarachne helm exotic. The proc for woven mail seems to not be happening when using gunpowder gamble.
This build still slaps.. down side is 1) some times i find it hard to chain proc woven mail cause i get too carried away with my grenade spams 😂😂 2) I find myself reviving team mates more often which can be a little annoying in harder contents
I just came back after a long break and I’m utterly confused by everything. First super simple question: are we not using special (green blocks) weapons anymore?
it's sad that i dont have any one to do that and i dont know where the boss after the event is done so i think if they dont get it solo i dont will ever get the class item exo
If its good for gms, itll be good in dungeons, at least imo. I find dungeons to be easier than gms cuz if you wipe its game over and over all the enemys are easier to kill in dungeons unless you are doing on master in which case i think its the same difficulty
Yeah I could see that feeling :) I personally don't mind it. Gives me time to decide my next move, grapple? Throw Gunpowder, Use red death cause I am low? That sort of stuff
I think either would be great. Probably easier content would be Caliban and harder content inmost. Since even grapple doesn't kill in GMs without a Strand surge. But honestly either or is very very good. Probably the top 2 choices in that first column
been running this since day one.... only way to play hunter is with mobility...id take eager edge as well to fly across rooms...i also like ergo sum arc conductor aggressive frame for a satisfying slam
I can't do the doge in the air? It's gamblers dodge, correct? I have Ascension on. Not sure what I'm missing. I can only dodge when I'm on the ground Edit: nm, long press dodge in air 😅
For the other exotic on the class item, Calibans is great since ignitions give a lot of progress towards gunpowder gamble. Also it's cool to make everything explode
@@seow5872 sometimes ignitions doesnt happen or very delayed and not every opponent it kills ignites. And most of the times when it happens i cant see nor hear the ignition. I know it doesnt mess with the effect of it in the end of the day but its really throwing off. Cant even see the yellow numbers when the ignition hits other targets which is one the most satisfying parts for me haha
So with some slight modifications, you can use a repulsor brace weapon. This will give you every class-based damage reduction by getting Void Overshields. The only thing you are missing is restoration which I find can be replaced with the leg mod which restores health pretty readily And I find a void primary very useful in this GM with the amount of Void shields that appear
@@JustGuitardedyeah he’s saying replace red death with a repulsor brace weapon with some modifications. You get more damage reduction from some seasonal mods, but I find that to be a bit overkill, resto is better once you’re already closing in on 90+ DR
For this GM I went back to the classic Orpheus / Tether on my hunter. It's crazy effective. Other than that the Prismatic Warlock is so good that I almost exclusively play that over the 2 others. This build might make me want to use my hunter more.

All correct, utility kickstart is great purely due to lack of other options
Bear in mind using a Kickstart will kill your Surge Timers

I don’t even need to do much of anything different than I would during the normal gameplay loop; I get a kill with Treaded Spike, a Grapple Melee, or a finisher, and I’m set. Granted, killing higher health mobs with them can be tricky, but red bars are a dime a dozen no matter where you are.
I’ve honestly needed a change of pace for a while with my build. I’m used to hanging a decent ways back with Sunshot and just making entire rooms explode. While effective, I was so safe in my approach that it killed the fun after a while. This build is a lot more up close and personal with enemies, and actually has some decent built-in movement tech with Grapple Grenades and Ascension, if you do it right and just don’t need them for anything coming up. Absolutely love it.

@@conradcallanta8742 To be fair, I’m still trying to get all 12 points for the artifact. Not really much I can experiment with right now, I think I have 5, maybe 6 so far. I know I’m a ways behind, but life outside the screen is hectic at best. Tell you what, though, I’ll get back to you when I do reach that point.
Been using a similar build for a couple of weeks. I switch up the super based on the content but mostly use the strand super because it's both good damage and ad clear. Also, you have infinte class ability in your strand super and can keep activating ascension as if you had radiant dance machines equipped.
I don't know if coolguy mentioned the stat breakdown and i missed it, but you only need 50 mobility for this build. Amplified gives you +50 mobility so you can spec stats elsewhere since you will be amplified a ton. I have seen other build setups like this one and they have missed that bit of info.
Currently, the mods that say use class ability dont work with ascension besides utility kickstart. They will still work with your regular dodge if you have ascension aspect equipped though. Hopefully bungie fixes it like they did with ensnaring slam on strand hunter.
Also, gun powder gamble counts as a grenade because it does proc demo on my weapons. But the fragment that cures on grenade kills currently doesn't work with gun powder gamble. Another thing for bungie to fix.
This has been my favorite and most fun build on hunter. Grapple meleeing into enemies, proccing ascension before hitting the ground, throwing a gun powder gamble while in the air, shooting a rocket next, watching everything explode and die. Strand hunter with threaded specter and the shuriken tangles close 2nd for me.
ran something similar but w eager and an aggressive frame ergo sum...the slam after ascension is satisying...
@@mutsuhanma7807 I haven't used ergo sum much yet since I haven't gotten the catalyst from the gm. I can picture it though, definitely would be satisfying.
They fixed the gpg it cures now. Also the dodge ability isn't bugged Bungie said it's intended to not work with ascension only dodge. U could always run spirit of coyote with cyrtaracne if u want the extra dodge for orb pickups
This is such a great all rounded build, that wouldn't lose its usage season to season. Just the DR will be reduced due to losing an artifact mod! Now this is why plunder is the plug for builds.
i only have 2 exotics capes, and one of them is the exact roll you suggested. i’m so lucky because i thought it was a bad roll
It can sometimes be weak on dealing with overloads (making sure u have ascention ready for that) the other area it sort of lacks is ad clear in top level stuff where threaded spike doesnt always 1 shot redbars and we have no way to kinda chain kills like voltshot but nothin is ever perfect. I enjoy this same exotic class item often but find myself running vs indebted kindness and either thunderlord or microcosim. Ill pair those with blast furnace and the fragment that lets kenetic weapons count as dark damage and basically have great ad clear as well as very good barrier and overload clear. Just have to make sure ur getting galvanic armor up as much as possible, frost armor and still get woven mail from transendence and grapple.

Have a similar build just no grapple, i use dusk field because my class item rolled with spirit of renewal and spirit of cyrtarachne. Its pretty nuts dr.

That's the roll I've been wanting. I used a Renewal Grasps build going through the legendary campaign and I've been wanting that combo since I saw it but my luck has been terrible outside of the popular melee combos.

Unfortunately, GPG does not work with facet of mending, this is a known bug and bungie addressed it

also, sadly, foetracer does not work with GPG. I tried it, and buff to solar weapons was nowhere there. no idea what happened there, considering that GPG does count as a grenade ability for cyrtarachnes and HOIL.
I believe that for foe tracer and verity, GPG is interacting with the underlying grenade element, even though it does solar damage. So for this build with grapple grenade I think it would boost / be boosted by strand.
Foetracter doesn’t stack with Surge mods right? It would let you use the mods for Call/Heavy weapon I guess if you swapped the boots.
I’ve been playing a similar build but with stomp ee5. They give you 25% dr when you’re in the air and you’re in the air so much with this play style.
facet of courage would also slap given youre applying sever everywhere
could swap out with bravery if you arent running void or strand weapons too

This gave me an idea for an ascension arc build with shinobu's vow
I tried it over a couple of days, thinking arc subclass, gifted conviction, ascension and skip grenades would be strong enough with the Artifact mods (as there are so many synergies on paper), but came to the conclusion that it just doesn’t cut it in GM level content
This is an amazing build ran it in a master salvations and was taking care of anything on sight

I’ve been using something similar to this build using Ergo Sum for my exotic. You can get the arc shield, fly around with your grapple and you chain lightning EVERYTHING in your path. Lots of fun and great add clear, at least in base nightfall content. I’d love so see what you could do with it.

tested this build with a class item with spirit of inmost light and Cyrtarachne and learned that using Asencsion does not count as class ability but gunpowder gamble does

New to prismatic - what's the best time to pop transcendence, or does it matter?
Been running a build similar to this. In my opinion godroll on the class Item for this is inmost/cyrtarachne. This will help keep your dodge and grenade full that way you can trigger them for damage resist whenever.

I like this build gonna runnit with song of ir yut though for those explosion kills after melee shoulder tackle though. If it doesn't work out, I'll change it back to matching void machine gun
you get free grapple by grappling to tangle
also swapping to Bloodlines gives you Devour, which is better than Cure cause it heals on ANY kill and extends
Yeah with the fragment you also get volatile rounds. But i think the idea was for gunpoweder gamble just for that cause a solar weapon. And i also believe plunder tries to bring in some variety always and burried bloodline is pretty popular this season. And you can run out of devour too and its not always easy to proc it

plunder would u consider looking back at starfire with helion? becuase double explody fusion nades, and constant grenade energy back with helion ignitions if u use fragment of blistering I think it is, and if you get a kill with ur nade it refunds ur pheonix dive as well
Since this is an Ascension build, could Gifted Conviction be swapped in for its Resist x4? I have been loving that build on Arc (infinite Blind and Jolt thanks to infinite Amplified is potent, not to mention all the DR), but have been curious what it would look like on Prismatic and without an Indebted Kindness. This seems like a really good shell for it, esp since as a solo player I will likely NEVER get an Exotic class item, let alone the correct one.

Will that impact the build in any way. I suspect it will. So should I wait till I run DD to get it or can I still use the build effectively without it? But I do have the helm. Cheers.
I used sunshot as my substitute as long as you gain health from orbs and get orbs on solar weapon kills it's a good substitute

Currently I have the class item with Cyrt and Inmost Light.. and man it cooks. The ability spam, plus the woven mail, plus (for this season at least) Shieldcrush and the radiant aspect/facet? It’s just wild. I have been trying it out with different abilities though, but your build is definitely one I am going to try

I’ve been using a similar build with bloodline (similar exotic perks on class armor) on the arc super for amp but I’m thinking about switching to ascension and squall for that extra dr. Thanks for the build man!

I think they silently nerfed this combo with the cyrtarachne helm exotic. The proc for woven mail seems to not be happening when using gunpowder gamble.
That part requires the class item.
This build still slaps.. down side is
1) some times i find it hard to chain proc woven mail cause i get too carried away with my grenade spams 😂😂
2) I find myself reviving team mates more often which can be a little annoying in harder contents

If its good for gms, itll be good in dungeons, at least imo. I find dungeons to be easier than gms cuz if you wipe its game over and over all the enemys are easier to kill in dungeons unless you are doing on master in which case i think its the same difficulty

Yeah I could see that feeling :) I personally don't mind it. Gives me time to decide my next move, grapple? Throw Gunpowder, Use red death cause I am low? That sort of stuff
For lower tier content I use facet of bravery for volatile AND unraveling rounds at the same time

I think either would be great. Probably easier content would be Caliban and harder content inmost. Since even grapple doesn't kill in GMs without a Strand surge. But honestly either or is very very good. Probably the top 2 choices in that first column

Did they change the exotic helmet trait? I read "Gain Woven Mail when activating grapple" not grenade. I am not getting WM on GPG throw.
It’s the class item variant. The helm is on grapple, the class item is on grenade use
been running this since day one.... only way to play hunter is with mobility...id take eager edge as well to fly across rooms...i also like ergo sum arc conductor aggressive frame for a satisfying slam

For the other exotic on the class item, Calibans is great since ignitions give a lot of progress towards gunpowder gamble. Also it's cool to make everything explode

@@seow5872 sometimes ignitions doesnt happen or very delayed and not every opponent it kills ignites. And most of the times when it happens i cant see nor hear the ignition. I know it doesnt mess with the effect of it in the end of the day but its really throwing off. Cant even see the yellow numbers when the ignition hits other targets which is one the most satisfying parts for me haha

Ive been playing rhis for a while with spirit of inmost and cyrt. I use burried blood line and run ascension with gunpowder gamble.
So with some slight modifications, you can use a repulsor brace weapon. This will give you every class-based damage reduction by getting Void Overshields. The only thing you are missing is restoration which I find can be replaced with the leg mod which restores health pretty readily
And I find a void primary very useful in this GM with the amount of Void shields that appear
You get resto from the red death catalyst tho!
@@JustGuitardedyeah he’s saying replace red death with a repulsor brace weapon with some modifications. You get more damage reduction from some seasonal mods, but I find that to be a bit overkill, resto is better once you’re already closing in on 90+ DR

For this GM I went back to the classic Orpheus / Tether on my hunter. It's crazy effective.
Other than that the Prismatic Warlock is so good that I almost exclusively play that over the 2 others.
This build might make me want to use my hunter more.
