    The only thing I would add is a load cell depending on the application.
    1- The Pump does not really know if flow has started or not. So there no way to know the qty/volume of liquid displaced. By measuring the weight before and after one can make adjustment even suck back any excess if needs be.
    2- Depending on the liquid viscosity the flow rate might be different so again adding a load cell and weight in before and after coupled with PID one can reach nice precision and repeatability..
    Good job.

      peristaltic pumps should move same ammount of liquid no matter the viscosity. it depends on tube inner diameter, not on liquid.

      In addition to pualingho's comment. Usually, devices with a peristaltic pump work under the assumption that the hose is already primed (you only have to manually prime it until the supplied liquid runs out), thus making the length of the hose irrelevant to the computation of the volume.

    You may try to measure the water by electronics balance, 1ml of water equal to 1 gram. By providing the feedbacks to the pump, you will have a more accurate result. I did the same thing to the hospital infusion pump, and they work perfectly.

    Excelent job, I am making a similar one, but taking advantage of the fact that it is a stepper motor, I intend to calibrate it by turns instead of by time.

      do we require separate driver or just we can connect stepper motor directly to Adrunio??? Thanks in advance

    What I think would have been a great addition is if you could show a reliable flow rate, like 100 mL in 30 min for example. But anyway, great work!

      @markawbolton ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Peristalitic pumps do have a fairly precise flow delivery. You must use a high quality silicone tubing in the pump body and have the walls close on the fluid flow but only just to avoid damage and motor strain.

      Why don't you show yours with 100ml flow rate? Show him how do things!!

    This is great, but your measurement is slightly off, the bottom of the meniscus is the point of measure, your 50 is actually 49. Truly nice function, recalibration shouldn't be too difficult, another 120 degrees would've likely got you right there, it's simply when the fluid stops, there isn't enough liquid pressure to get right on the mark.

    Nice job you should fine tune your pololu driver, seems like stepper driver is overloaded.

    My arm hurt looking at it. Still remember the morphine IV that didn't do squat for me. I did have plenty of time to look at that pump though.

    Time is supposed to start when all air move out of the pipes in order to have a correct quantity dispensed. In my machines I have the pipes always full of liquid, since they are dedicated for the same liquid always.

      Do you have your pump always lower than the fluid heights? I'm looking at dosing 10ml of fluid and feel if I have the pump higher than the level of detergent then there will be a small amount of draining out of both the hoses until a small vaccum is present. So the dosing will not be accurate when aiming for a 10ml dose only... Or will that level drop be consistent so I can calibrate it out? The pump and tube diameter I'm buying says its only about 10mL per minute so I'm hoping to get some accuracy out of it.. Never used a pump like this before and waiting on it to arrive.

    oh i see now.. not only that is susceptible to temperature but is also very noisy. You cannot burry it in the ground because it has no pressure so this is useless. I was thinking its a clever pomp but no its not.:D

    Meh. I rather use small dc pump. It's faster and if angled right does not need to be primed by sucking out the air like you did off camera with your video edit because all action starts with cup already partly filled.

    • @MrInnovative
      @MrInnovative  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I think you misunderstood the purpose of peristaltic pump this pumps are different from other ones peristaltic pump is used to transfer fluid without contaminating it high flow rate is not the main aim. peristaltic pump does not required priming they also known as dosing pumps.

      @DivinityIsPurity ปีที่แล้ว +2
