I did the salt, and it took some off. Then I used the toothpaste, baking Soda, & vinegar solution. Voila my vintage iron is spotlessly clean! I also cleaned the interior, although I don’t use the steam feature much, stuff from my toothpaste solution had gone in the holes in the iron. I’ve tried everything to clean the faceplate, and your ideas were far and away the BEST! My only regret is not taking a before and after picture. Thanks ever so much! Have a great day!
Prevention is better than cure. I have found that most people iron at too high a temperature . The steam setting on my iron has high, medium , low. Set the steam to low. I have found this setting works perfectly and I never have to clean my iron. The rule is start off at a low temperature and increase the temperature gradually. Write the settings down or keep them in a mental sock. Give it a go you have nothing to lose and hopefully everything to gain.
Thanks a lot dear sir, i work in abroad this vedio as very important for me. Today i'm try to clean my madam's electric iron , this 2 of method of i follow also, its so amazing vedio of me. then i saw for my madam that how is go out the darkeness, she is so happy also. Thanks a lot❤️
The vinegar for cleaning the inside really worked on my iron. I though I might have to get a new iron because it was so rusted in the inside but this cleared it all out. Thank you!! 😊
So, this works-just be warned. I'm a grown man and had to spend an hour scrubbing HARD to remove a small burnt area. My hand is acheing and I'm sweating like a pig.
It just all depends on what type of iron you have. Some of them are a little softer than others and you could scratch it up pretty bad. So I wouldn't recommend it.
Getting ready to do it now! It's an older iron but I'm not buying a new one if I don't have to. My method is usually to throw wrinkled item in the dryer again. Lol
I tried this on our heavily stained iron and it worked! You just have to scrub it vigorously, when I said vigorously - - it's really VIGOROUSLY.. 😅 It's better also to prepare quite a lot of mixture (especially for heavily stained ones) so that you won't need to mix every now and then if it's not enough and the stain is still there at first try.
@@cindym3220 I tried the baking soda/vinegar bit and it didn't work. I'm not doing the salt, it's not food, it's an iron. I read an aspirin tablet or Tylenol in a warm iron using a tweezers to rub tablet so you don't burn your fingers then wipe clean with a damp cloth, but supposedly you need to cover your nose and mouth and open the window because of fumes. To tell you the truth, oven cleaner is not something I keep on hand because my oven is spotless inside as I am a vegetarian. My hardware store said to purchase stainless steel cleaner which they said is $8. I'm tired of this, I'm expecting a gift card for my birthday. I'm just getting a new iron. It won't be as good quality as mine, but this process is over for me. I have better things to do and I have clothes to iron.
Citric acid and hot water put that in your iron then spray out and steam Same as the bottom . Place a cloth that's been soaked in citric acid and water attach it to iron leave it for half hour after turn iron on and iron old towl then remove cloth it e clean
I am flabbergasted how well this worked. After scrubbing with the paste, there burnt stuff came off but paste kind of stayed glued on and I couldn’t scrub it off. I thought that was that. Popped out quickly to buy a new iron. When I got back, I decided to try scrubbing iron again which was now cold and amazing - it’s as good as new. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks for those 👍 advises really good and efficient hUh oray hahahah till next time buddy I appreciate your very smart tips for cleaning my iron 😉 hahahhah 🤔🙂👍

I used blade scratch the the bottom is there any to get it back to original?
If you scratched it with a blade, it is probably permanent.
What if you don't have vinegar? Is there something else you can use to clean inside the iron?
Lol buy some vinegar. It’s like 2 dollars. If not, coffee machine de-scaler will work too.
"Irons Shirt" New Achievement Pops Up' Boss Status!

Which one works better the first or second one
Thankyou for sharing the video. It works
Yes ma'am you are welcome!
My mother has used white vinegar and baking soda.
IS THE IRON PLUGGED IN WHILE R CLEANING?
Use a stainless steel scourer, I promise you if you scrub as hard as possible in 10 seconds nothing will be there. 👌🏾
Citric acid and hot water put that in your iron then spray out and steam
Same as the bottom .
Place a cloth that's been soaked in citric acid and water attach it to iron leave it for half hour after turn iron on and iron old towl then remove cloth it e clean

It would have been nice to see you use it on the actual burnt iron not the brand new one to see it actually work...
You must not have watched the video because I did clean a dirty iron. Check out the thumbnail👍
It stopped working… it is not taking current even
Why show all of that? 😎
Colgate and what?
Colgate, baking soda and vinegar
Let me go and try it now.I came here looking for this tip
Glad I could be of service.
Wouldn’t you want to flush out the vinegar with clean distilled water before you actually use it again?
Sure, if you feel it's necessary then by all means. :)
