Here’s part of Texas Statute 423 - Use of Unmanned Aircraft Sec. 423.009. REGULATION OF UNMANNED AIRCRAFT BY POLITICAL SUBDIVISION. (a) In this section: (1) "Political subdivision" includes a county, a joint board created under Section 22.074, Transportation Code, and a municipality. (2) "Special event" means a festival, celebration, or other gathering that: (A) involves: (i) the reservation and temporary use of all or a portion of a public park, road, or other property of a political subdivision; and (ii) entertainment, the sale of merchandise, food, or beverages, or mass participation in a sports event; and (B) requires a significant use or coordination of a political subdivision's services. (b) Except as provided by Subsection (c), a political subdivision may not adopt or enforce any ordinance, order, or other similar measure regarding the operation of an unmanned aircraft. (c) A political subdivision may adopt and enforce an ordinance, order, or other similar measure regarding: (1) the use of an unmanned aircraft during a special event; (2) the political subdivision's use of an unmanned aircraft; or (3) the use of an unmanned aircraft near a facility or infrastructure owned by the political subdivision, if the political subdivision: (A) applies for and receives authorization from the Federal Aviation Administration to adopt the regulation; and (B) after providing reasonable notice, holds a public hearing on the political subdivision's intent to apply for the authorization. (d) An ordinance, order, or other similar measure that violates Subsection (b) is void and unenforceable.
Ok I'm a part 107 remote pilot and it's coming up on two years for me and I'm sure others and well. Can you guys have questions and answer on recurring your part 107 remote sUAS.. I know it's like 9 months left for me. Thanks and keep up the good work.. Greg Harper
I am not a lawyer. This is not "legal advise" Police can/may/will enforce their power to impound your property, in this case your drone, and make you come down to the station, show proper identification, etc. If your drone is registered and you have all your paperwork arranged and available in an orderly business fashion in the first place, it may not even get that far
Hey guys just putting this out there. Below is one of the two state Laws in Florida. And Pinellas County's Ordnance seems to contradict it. My reasoning is because the ordinance is specifically relating to the use of unmanned aircraft systems. What are your thoughts? BTW how does the state of Florida or any state have the authority to regulate the National Airspace System? Didn't the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 direct the FAA to integrate unmanned aircraft systems into the NAS? The 2017 Florida Statutes 330.41 Unmanned Aircraft Systems Act.- (3) REGULATION.- (a) The authority to regulate the operation of unmanned aircraft systems is vested in the state except as provided in federal regulations, authorizations, or exemptions. (b) Except as otherwise expressly provided, a political subdivision may not enact or enforce an ordinance or resolution relating to the design, manufacture, testing, maintenance, licensing, registration, certification, or operation of an unmanned aircraft system, including airspace, altitude, flight paths, equipment or technology requirements; the purpose of operations; and pilot, operator, or observer qualifications, training, and certification. (c) This subsection does not limit the authority of a local government to enact or enforce local ordinances relating to nuisances, voyeurism, harassment, reckless endangerment, property damage, or other illegal acts arising from the use of unmanned aircraft systems if such laws or ordinances are not specifically related to the use of an unmanned aircraft system for those illegal acts. Pinellas County, FL Code of Ordinances Sec. 90-7. - Activities within county-owned or managed lands. (q) Aircraft. No person operating, directing, or responsible for any airplane, helicopter, drone, glider, hang glider, hot air balloon, dirigible, parachute or other aerial apparatus, including those radio controlled or otherwise unmanned, shall take off from or land in or on any county- owned or managed land, except for purposes of public safety or where written permission has been obtained from the administrator or designee.
Texas Done Law, passed Sept. 2017 H.B. 1643 - An act relating to the regulation of the operation of an unmanned aircraft and the prosecution of a related criminal offense. This bill also enacted Government Code §423.009 - Regulation of Unmanned Aircraft by Political Subdivision. This section limits the role political subdivisions such as counties or municipalities can play in drone regulation.[6] Under §423.009(b), unless permitted under §423.009(c), a political subdivision “may not adopt or enforce any ordinance, order, or other similar measure regarding the operation of unmanned aircraft.” Section 423.009(c) limits the local regulation of drones to their use during special events, their use by the locality itself, and their use near a facility or infrastructure owned by the locality (if granted FAA authority and complying with certain public-notice requirements). See id. §423.009(c); see also id. §423.009(a)(2) (defining “special event”).
Understand this "The Government". No doubt that local "Power Nodes" can be a problem. However, as a community our greater concern is the Big Money interests that want to hog up all the goodies for themselves. What is needed is a sort of a "NDA" National Drone Association, sort of like the National Rifle Assn. to get some lobbying done for us to protect small time operators. I think you guys might be just the guys to kick it off. Model it after the NRA and make it a non profit.
Yes, thank you..Can you help us unite like NRA..WHAT CAN WE DO TO GET STARTED? Lots of us are solo flyers but appreciate the community. I fly solo largely because of anonymity. But would like to fly with others without going to the airfield. And ld spend more time driving than flying. Not my ideal of fun/work ratio. The trouble I had with sailing.
Legal Flyer is OK if you have an Apple product. There is not a version for Android which is discrimination against anyone who uses an android product. I am so sick and tired of Apple products being a monopoly.

Even if a city or town can make anti drone laws , doesn't the altitude at which one flies determine "privacy" over private dwellings?
