@@GearboxCarReviewsyeah, to me it kind of suffers from the same thing the ct4v BW does; kind of a wonky rear end, the tail light design kind of rescues it from being ‘ugly’…overall aesthetic looks good. However, The GV70 is one of the best looking suv on the road
It really saddens me that every time we costumers want a cool fun family sedan we forced to buy same options year after year. Mercedes Audi or BMW. I personally want something unique something that no one has. VN got discontinued, Stinger got discontinued, G70 is getting discontinued. It really sucks. Because these cars gives you the best value and performance for money. Just recently picked up used 2021 g70 sport prestige 3.3T. Amazing car
Yeah, it's frustrating to see as car enthusiasts we ask for these kinds of cars, Hyundai/Kia/Genesis start delivering them, then they end up getting dismissed because of the badge and they end up going away. All despite the fact they're poaching the engineers from these other companies as well. Luckily the G70 has continued for 2024 and I believe we'll at least have it for 2025, but we'll see as Genesis starts moving to an all EV lineup. Hopefully we still continue to see some solid enthusiast options. Congrats on the car! Agree, it's absolutely one of the best cars out there in terms of value right now.

@@layne4376 ….i never said there were none here. I said there are not enough. Utilize reading comprehension. I don’t see Genesis in my county. People here don’t drive Hyundai’s. We don’t need any centers. Your suggestions mean nothing to me.
I was considering one of these, they’re great cars but it simply isn’t at the same level as the M340 so I went with one of those instead. The G70 still feels a generation behind the competition. The rear seat leg room of the G70 makes the BMW and Mercedes equivalents look limousines in comparison. Plus, that B58 inline 6 was just too good to say no to.
There's definitely a gap between this and the M340i. For even money, I'd take the BMW every time. It just comes down to whether the monetary gap is a stretch or not and if it's worth the step up or not, which comes down to the individual buyer. What about the G70 felt like it was a generation behind though? Congrats on the car btw! Hope you're loving it!
Thanks! The infotainment and switchgear just didnt seem to be up to the current BMW (LCI version) and especially not in the same league as the the Mercedes. Genesis have put all of their modern gear in the GV70. Shame they don't put a similar interior in the G70. @@GearboxCarReviews
Ah yeah BMW just updated the M340i to iDrive 8 for 2023 IIRC. I think Genesis made some updates for 2024, but I haven't seen one yet. I do like the rollers and switches on the wheel though, but i could see the infotainment using some updates. I'm not sure which Mercedes you were in, but they're starting to move in the wrong direction. The C43 I was in recently had all kinds of gloss black haptic stuff all over and the infotainment was a laggy and even crashed during my time with it. A beautiful interior. Just a pain to interact with. Previous Mercedes though, definitely much nicer.
Why do I find, say online, bmw 4 series 2016-2021 selling and selling quickly with 30k to 75k miles, for good money and g70s from 2020-2023 (yes used 2023s already) with short ownerships or 2022-23 that have 2k - 7k miles? Seems like people are turning in g70s after extremely short ownership period.
I can only really speculate here, but I feel like I see low mile examples of all different brands. I think that the BMW badge means a lot to people, just as an image thing, and they've been around for a while and they're a known quantity. Genesis is still trying to establish itself as a luxury brand and the badge doesn't carry as much weight. They also have to fight with Hyundai's history and brand-perception. And the #1 thing I hear about is that the dealership experience is awful more often than not, which unfortunately is a fairly big part of the ownership experience. They've got a lot working against them and I think that's just keeping cars on the lot longer and maybe even driving people away sooner after the purchase. Again, all just speculation though. I don't have ownership experience of either.

Great video! I wonder how much of an impact the A/S tires on your car have on the "sporty" side of the equation - in Canada both the RWD and AWD version of the top trim come with Michelin PS4S summer tires, which may really narrow the gap in terms of handling and feel with the M340i.
Thanks! Yeah, that's a good call. I'm sure the tires would make a good bit of difference. There's still some room to make up in the transmission and the engine, especially with the newer M340i having the mild-hybrid system that works very well to help with responsiveness.
