Agreed! I've owned the same house for 12 years and I barely know anyone in my neighborhood. It's sad we're becoming this. Growing up, we knew most of our neighbors and had block parties, etc!
These used to be "trailer parks." Still one of the only places you can park these homes if you don't own the land. I think rebranding trailer parks as tiny home communities is a huge win for people who want to own a home, but can't afford the area they live in.
I totally agree. I retired to an upscale mobile home park and at 75 have a bunch of neighbors I can chat with or borrow a cup of sugar or get a ride to my doctor. I owned my suburban home for 15 years and only made one friend. See my lengthy comment above about the fabulous features of my park. The only difference here is each home is unique. The mobile home parks in Florida are accustomed to providing amenities while most of the tiny home parks don't. We need to see that change so we can have affordable and people friendly communities. @@micheleosullivan4430
The combination of organic farm & store, tiny house & RV living, community organization and offerings of all sorts is truly a model community that would be great to see emulated as much as possible. "One-stop living".
$650 - $750 is far less than I thought the lot rents would go far. By far, this community has the best amenities I've seen & the farm makes it absolutely worth it.
Can I just say? I loved this one!! This seems like THE best tiny home community that you've ever featured - - I love, love, love the farmhouse, the Saturday market, the fresh flowers, the clubs...... what a beautiful community you have all made. I really wish I could live somewhere like that - - it is so good for people's mental health to have the option to be a part of a vibrant community. Also, the grounds of Village Farm Tiny House Community is so lovely & well maintained...... I really like how everyone takes pride in their porches, their walk ways, their yards. So many amenities!!! So many! What a great place.... 💗💗💗
Finally, a developer has figured out you can make a mobile home or single wide trailer park using "tiny homes". I downsized to an upscale trailer park upon retirement loaded with amenities and love it. And I love my neighbors as well. Lots of amenities and permission to have dogs ( that need walking) makes for instant friends. We have a pool, library/business office combo, banquet size community room large enough for shows (like comedy hour) which includes a huge kitchen, a gym, post office, 2 dog parks ( one with agility equipment) golf cart friendly, walking trail mile markers, tennis court, shuffle board court, etc. Lot rent is $1000/mo which includes water, sewer, garbage and lawn maintenance, taxes, and maintenance of our private road system and a fish stocked large pond big enough for kayaking. We are 55+ which right away lends itself to making friends since we have time on our hands. We were all former home owners so we come with a mind set of proper maintenance of our homes and middle class manners. Decades ago I talked my newly widowed father out of a mobile home park bc of the stigma attached and my own snobbishness. I am so ashamed now bc it would have been perfect for him. We need more of these parks ASAP for the wave of baby boomers and for other sectors of society.
@@jenniferlee7167where are the good weather patterns in the US? I have lived on the tornado and hurricane prone east coast for over 30 years. Id take it over blizzards wildfires rock/mudslides or constant cold/heat.
I wish they would bring this exact concept to Michigan! I love how much forethought and planning went into the village, plus it's so neat and clean looking, too. Wonderful.❤️
This is the nicest, best thought-out tiny home community I've ever seen! So nice to see trees between houses to provide shade, and markets, classes etc where residents can gather. Wish we had something like this in Australia. Mostl ocal governments here are pretty inflexible about tiny houses.
Maybe show them this videos, and others like it (from this channel), maybe they need to see the bigger picture and how it will benefit the community. Find out their reasons as to "why not ", then counter with a positive. Hope it will work out!
this is amazing but it's funny how far we have gotten away from community living and how we are realizing that we need to get back to this type of living. I LOVE It!
Everything one ever needs and wants is right here,in one place .It's absolutely marvelous. There should be these village farms in the entire world. I ,for one, would love to stay here.
I love this tiny home community. We more of these around the nation. That’s for sure. I love the growing of the organic vegetables. It’s all very nice. Love it!
Wow what a beautiful place to live. I wouldn’t mine living there. You actually own your own home, no apartment, people living on top, on the side, this community offers so much.
GLORY!!!!'m favoured, $140K every 3weeks! And am retired i can now give back to the locals in my community and also support God's work and the church. God bless America
This looks like a nice community but the home prices seem somewhat steep. "On average, prices can range from as low as the mid $100Ks for basic models!" Calling the mid $100Ks "low" for a 400sf "basic model" is quite subjective. Additionally, while I appreciate the sense of community, there seems to be no secluded area if you just want to sit outside of your house and be alone. Sure the houses have porches but the next house and the sidewalk are just feet away. A few trees between the houses and in front of them would be nice. Still, I guess there are trade-offs in most things. I'd still consider checking it out. Thanks for the tour!
Does this location have or allow bible study and church meetings? Sometimes control centers don't allow such. The location might be worth looking into.
Wow makes me want to move there. So nice and clean! I grew up in a mobile home park and if not managed correctly, it can get bad. We were lucky in our park.
that price is incredible. most places like that where you park and RV or mobile home are over 1,000 a month plus all utilities you pay yourself. We sold our RV and stopped traveling 6 months of the year because of steadily climbing rates to park for a week at a time.
Thanks for sharing this video. 1. Can one bring one’s own tiny home? And if so? Do they have open lots available? 2. Do they allow tiny homes on wheels ?
A link to the property is in the description. All you need to do is check their FAQs for the answer to your question: "Currently, Village Farm tiny home lots are only available for residents purchasing their tiny home directly from Village Farm Austin."
Jenna, that community is amazing. I'm about to launch a large humanitarian project with both Mini and Tiny Houses in Colombia, S.A. I'd love to talk with you about some key elements and other features to incorporate for the benefit of residents. Dennis
There needs to be more places like this all over the world
Yes!

I was wanting to make one in Alberta, Canada. I need the people and the cash though. Only 4 are interested so far locally.

Boy with my failing sight would this be great!!!
Humans do better with community. Good to see the organic farm with a captive clientele ❤

Also Wichita Kansas lily wu can you be a part of something great ?
Every state needs at least one of these types of tiny home communities!! Love this!
Yes, I agree!
This was exceptional. To see tiny homes treated as the luxury dwelling they can be and supporting residents in a resort style farm is fabulous.

The prices have definitely increased since I last checked this place out (in like 2019 or so)
@@mrgjsolorio Yes! I came across one article from 2018 that stated the houses here start at $69k. So they've doubled in price over 6 years.

I would prefer leaving that nonsense for city social constructs.
Stop pushing your religion onto other people

I love this idea. Very clean, organized community with security, library, shared spaces. Need storm shelters!
