I feel like areas like this are often overlooked, but I always imagined the stairwell feeling more inviting and welcoming for people to walk into our basement and right now it’s just not giving that! So today, we're giving it a makeover with some wallpaper, a handrail makeover, a gallery wall, and some easy lighting with no hardwiring!

For some reason, a comment box didn't show up for me so I'm tagging on here. This project turned out so well. Cozy and inviting. And the lights are such a great idea. And Tina on Brian's shoulders! And the way it was edited so that at first it just looked like Tina was walking up the stairs. So cute and funny and thank goodness you didn't fall.
Doing Some of these Lights upwards & others downward would also Look Very Good 👍 While it's giving Homage those Signature Hooks >> You're normally putting Your jackets onto in the Entrance Hall ❤ These Hooks, A Trademark "Signature Look like the Neutral Wood is Aesthetically Yours" !!
Pleasing also would be adding a few Hooks with the New lights or art to hang things Upon >> Like a Straw basket or bag with lavender or eucalyptus cuttings or some other faux plants to cascade down the staircase . *Another 😮 idea Is combining some shelf boxes mixing into the Gallery too one or both of the walls matching the Colors of the treads, hooks, & new lights some shelf boxes in varied sizes for displaying things treasured or curated. (Cultural Asian Collectables like the Budda, Ming Dogs, Dragons, etc & family treasures). **Cultural Collectables Are My Favorite Vibe in any Curated Home😮. It’s such a vibe now and has so much character and I feel those lights are reminiscent of theater lights which is cool cause it leads you to the home theater which I feel when you enter is gonna be so pleasantly unexpected.
I was unsure of the wallpaper but it was such a good choice.
the lights were a nice touch. whenever old houses have hardware w paint all over em, it drives me crazy too. its all about the details.

I have those same lights. They’re def a great solution when you don’t have (or want to) wire/plug in :) if jostled they do fall off the magnet thing so they can get damaged easily - but they’re also not super pricey so easy to replace. The recharge also doesn’t take that long and you don’t actually have to recharge that often - esp in areas you’re not using super often. ✨ great makeover!

I have those lights in my bathrooms. Works perfectly for midnight pee breaks. The 3M tape on the back failed on all of them and I had to replace it with a stronger double sided tape. But the battery lasts FOREVER and they are so pretty when they turn on.
I was very sceptical but was pleasantly surprised by how good it looked.

Can u modge podge over the wallpaper so its a little more forgiving for scuff marks?? Looks great though. Some gallery lights mixed in with the wall collage would be amazing too .
