    Thank you to BILT for sponsoring today's video. When I was still working at my desk job, I really only had nights and weekends to work on DIYs, and I know that is the same for most people working on DIYs. So, I wanted to challenge myself to try and do this project in 48 hours to see what is actually possible. And to be honest, now that this is my full-time job, I have the luxury of taking my time. And with that, I often find myself overthinking and spend way more than I should feeling nervous before a big cut or putting things together. But I want to change that and I am hoping that this challenge will give me that extra confidence boost to kick things off feeling empowered instead of nervous before a build, especially when it’s a big one like this!

    This looks fantastic! I wonder if a 3rd set of legs would be useful to add to the middle to help distribute weight more evenly and protect the structure from bowing over time? I don't think it would impact the look at all, but could really help with the longevity - as always, it's so heartening to see you take on challenges and succeed so stylishly!

    I love the new bench! As a suggestion, you might measure from your support bar to the floor and place some additional feet (even 2 on each side?) under the unsupported sections, it will get rid of the flex in the unit. Nice job. Love the pleather on it too. Like you said, easier to clean.

    This is beautiful, Tina and is great if only decorative but it will need some major reinforcing if you are actually going to sit on it - use it for storage! The original had the legs in the middle and was made with much thicker wood, plus under the seat, it had a wide lip all around. You could add a frame under the top pieces of wood and put a central strut under the seat portion, plus add two more legs under the middle - otherwise it will collapse sooner than later as the plywood is so thin.

    Tina ~ I love how grateful you are for the place you find yourself in now - being able to do TH-cam full time! You are always reminding us that anything is possible & when you share your journey so freely & honestly it really does feel that way! I love how you think outside the box to give yourself the parameter of only having 48hrs to do such a major build - your biggest one to date as you said. That you still remember what it was like to be confined by time & care enough to share the process in this way so others who don't have the luxury of no time constraints will see that it is possible.... I think it's clear that Karma is on your side bcse you are a genuinely good person who cares about others, works incredibly hard & you don't take your good fortune for granted. Plus, your assistant 💪is pretty cute - which is an awesome bonus as well - lol!! You and Brian are such a great team - your husband is obviously your biggest cheerleader & that is so very nice to see 👩‍❤‍👨

    Looks sooo good Tina!! Love how you time managed to knock its out in two days. Aaaand if you ever get “bored” you could line the inside storage box with one of your beautiful wall papers OR turn your artwork into a tiled seamless paper and line the inside with it! What a cute and cool peek-a-boo surprise that would be 🤌🏽🙌🏼❤️❤️

    Love the bench. Just a friendly suggestion. Have you thought about putting hinges on the cushioned seat? It would make this so much easier for you to open and close. Great job like always.

    • @jackandlill
      @jackandlill ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great idea Lynn!! Then she could even put a cushy bench across the whole top& make it a whole or two pieces w/hinges! Though that would change the look of the design I suppose - the hinge totally makes sense!

  • @theguzmann
    @theguzmann ปีที่แล้ว

    ITS PERFECT!!!
    Just wanted to point out that the bottom is caving in the smallest bit. I would add a thicker piece of wood on the bottom for support as well as add 3rd set of legs!

    It looks awesome. It does warp very slightly when you sit on it so you might want to consider just adding a third set of legs right in the middle.

  • @KagomeMorino
    @KagomeMorino ปีที่แล้ว +5

    For the bench… you could have put a vent extension on the vent an just added a vent opening to the front of the built in. It would have taken up some of the storage space but you could gain it back by going to the floor on either side of it.😊

    The seating turned out amazing. Very inspiring. You don't hve to cut your plant. Wrap it and add a little potting soil on top. The nodules will turn into roots and it will look fuller. Better yet, if you do, propagate it in a cute vase to add near a kitchen window or bathroom window. 👍🏼

    Take the super long Vine of your plant. Wrap it round and round and pin it down to the dirt inside the pot it'll attach and grow more. It will make your pot look/be fuller.

    This turned out so good!
    You mentioned wanting to learn a 3D program for planning projects - Idk if anyone else said it but I think Blender would be a great tool. It's free and there are a ton of in depth tutorials on here (that's how I've been learning it).
    I'd suggest doing a few general beginner tutorials to get the basics, then trying some about 'precision modeling' for 3D printing. Might sound weird but most of the tutorials showing furniture/interior/product design are about making a pretty render and not for actual production of something material. The only ones I've seen (so far) showing how to model with any kind of measurement in mind have been for 3D printing haha
    Hope that helps and excited to see what you come up with!
