They have been running the VW distributorship in the Philippines for many years now but have yet to officially bring in the ID3, ID4 and ID6 EVs. Han Cars has VW EVs along with Teslas and they are nowhere near the scale of the mighty Ayala family. The VW EVs have been in the market for around 3-4 years now and most VW PH models come from China - where the VW EVs are also assembled. If Ayala is serious about EVs, it should start with VW and not BYD. The worry is that they will mess up BYD just as they messed up with VW. Ayala's car business is just an afterthought in their conglomerate.

BYD e- cars are cheaper than Tesla's. Let them compete in our market and maybe ask them to put up factories here in the Philippines.

Im still hoping that they will acquire tech so they can produce their own vehicles with their own brand.

I recently visited CDMX and the gigantic and historic city has a lot of BYD and they use it as taxis. Love it. I hope BYD will become taxis for Manila too.

*Sus, antagonizing EVs when the fossil-powered ones are the number one polluters. Pathetic.*
