Wow…can’t believe I’ve been here from the start almost…looking forward to seeing what you’ve got happening for us this year…thank you for sharing your life with us…🥰🇦🇺
Terrific year one - I love your well planned and executed videos. I would like to see a closet/fashion show tour where you showcase all your amazing wardrobe. If it is extensive perhaps split up into sections like: holiday wear, coats/outdoor wear, summer/winter etc. Cheers looking forward to your 2024 plans
I cannot believe it's already been a year! Your channel was the catalyst for me to really get into vintage sewing full heartedly. You really filled in the gap that Gertie left when she stopped posting on youtube, and with her potentially coming back, I know both of my hands will be held while I continue to navigate my new found love of sewing vintage garments like a child lol.
I absolutely love your videos. I've got so many tips from you and find myself going back to videos I've already watched because I enjoy watching them so much. It's not just the brilliant tips it's just the joy and excitement in your videos that is addictive. Looking forward to another year of brilliant content!
Sometimes putting down a project that _is not_ working, is the hardest thing. Who likes to give up! You can see it’s not working. But you keep pouring more time into it, trying to get it to work. You buy just another bit of fabric to recut that bit. Or thread or yarn, beads, sequins, ribbon. Whatever. You convince yourself you’d be wasting the initial cost if you give up on it. But in the end you spend double on supplies to fix the unfixable and waste all your spare time, when you could be starting fresh on something that _will_ work. …hopefully! Looking forward to your videos in the new year 🩷🩵🤍
I'm so excited you decided to start your channel! I've enjoyed each and every video and love everything about You ❣️ Thanks for sharing with us. Looking forward to anything you want to do next! 💙 ?? I'd love to learn how to knit but don't know where to start. Maybe a video for what needles, yarn, project, etc to begin with that sets us up for success.
Congratulations on your almost one year anniversary! New year plans for spare time are always problematic. Real life keeps interrupting! I always have a plan or 37 floating around my brain but getting off the paper is hard! I've found batch sewing helpful over the years. It might be just what you're looking for to get going on your pants!
I spent a little bit of time this weekend assessing zippers and thread so I can place an order for what I need to batch sew those corduroy pants! I WILL make it happen! 💪🏼
Wow, you do it all in your spare time! That's some busy evenings! Someone on Instagram recommended you when you started TH-cam, and you become one of the creators I always watch as soon as your videos come out 😊
Ha ha! My absolute favorite blooper of mine was from one of my early videos when I messed up, shoved my finger at the camera angrily and yelled "Son of a b****!" 😂
@@tashacouldmakethat One of your earlier videos where you gave the finger to a zipper installation that didn't work out caused me to subscribe because - relatable content. 😁
Happy New Year Tasha! Thank you for the free scarf pattern, it was a great email to open. I'm really looking forward to seeing your videos again this year. Personally, i would love to see tips for fitting trous, rs especially vintagestyled ones, doing French seams on curved areas i.e. set in arm holes and how you make your own earrings, buttons, and belt buckles~making moulds etc. Im really hoping to get my swing coat made this year, so some straightforward vintage coating techniques would be great. Im a bit bamboozled about how to do the interlining, what to look for when buying it, collar /chest stiffener area techniques for sewing this in. Sleeve header tips to help support them better. Also, any good 1yard or 1 metre sewing ideas. Some fabrics are so expensive that a little bit would be nice to use more frequently. I have 1 top that i use, and that's it. Anyhoo, those were some suggestions for you to consider. Looking forward to seeing your plans unfold.
Glad you liked the pattern! You may enjoy my next video then, I'm trying to squeeze a project onto 1 yard of an expensive fabric so you'll be able to watch me work my way through it. :)
Congratulations on your almost one year anniversary! 🎉 I’ve loved all your episodes. I don’t know how to knit, but your patterns are cute. Maybe you could show us your fabric and yarn stash. 👀
I love vintage sewing videos, I don’t knit. Specifically I love videos with techniques that are common in vintage sewing and less common now a days. Can’t wait for more videos!
I also lack winter sewing mojo for the reasons you mentioned. In winter i try to learn something new or experiment with a different fabric. This winter I am learning to embroider and in Feb I am going to try patchwork.
Sounds like good plans! It's also a nice time for a larger project, so sometimes I work on a coat though I am still waffling if I actually *need* the coat I discussed in my fall sewing vlog. lol
I just got done writing out my sewing/embroidery/knitting projects that I want to do for 2024. Hopefully half of them will get done. Hopefully. Along the theme of planning vs. execution, that could be the name of a Nancy Drew book: The Mysterious Case of Execution :)
I love your style and I’ve learned quite a bit from you. I enjoy your sense of humor as well. I’m looking to make a jumper for myself, so looking forward to seeing you do that project.
As someone who frequently misplaces things in her workroom, AND has way more ideas than she has time for, I'm so glad to see that I'm not alone! Another great video. Can I put in a plea for a short row shaping tutorial, please, so that this beginner knitter can finally tackle the Confidette pattern.
Thanks! I'll be honest the knitting tutorial I did went over like a lead balloon so I've kind of shied away from it a bit. But you give me an idea here to do a tutorial for the 2 types of short rows I prefer and I use in my patterns, wrap & turn and German short rows.
I do batch sew and whilst it does take longer than sewing one item I’ve got a few tips to help make it easier. I layer up my fabrics and cut multiple projects, I’ve got an electric rotary cutter to make cutting easier. I then work out all of my sewing processes so that i sew as many seams as possible before needing to press. You are effectively becoming your own mini factory! I also try to stick with just one or two colours of thread to reduce thread swops. I’ll sew all the side seams in one go, likewise all the crotch seams, pockets etc, until I get to a point where it’s time to put finishing touches to the garments, then I work on them individually until finished. It’s surprising just how quickly multiple garments come together, after all if you are set up to sew a process (a seam or a zip for example) then you might as well do them all in one go!
Sounds pretty much like what I was planning, good to know. Though I don't think I'll be able to layer up for cutting. I find cutting corduroy on multiple layers a bit of a drag and I don't have an electric rotary cutter just a normal one so I may need to just do one fabric at a time. But even still, it's just 4 legs and a waistband, so I figure I can do it all in one session (and then vacuum the fuzzies in the next session 😂). I might do one preliminary pair in the fabric though as a test run in case I find I need any adjustments specific to that fabric like taking the legs in, then I can do them for the whole batch.
I will take any knitting tutorials you feel like putting up. I'm self-taught in what turns out to be Continental, and I can not follow a pattern to save my life. I don't know how to read them, I don't understand the stitches they are describing, and it frustrates me. While I know you don't knit Continental, I'd love to see a total beginner series of tutorials. I like your presentation style more than others I have tried to watch.

I think your leopard jumper would look great with blue! Leopard it my favorite neutral!
It may very well, I'll find out when the fabric arrives! I definitely agree with you on leopard as a neutral. 😁
Seeing how you batch sew pants would be interesting!
I’m looking forward to whatever you do!

I'd love to see some recommendations for beginner friendly vintage or vintage inspired sewing patterns 🙂
Hi! Have recently found you and am really enjoying your channel and how you share working through things. Going back to watch your catalogue!😊

A short summer jacket would be useful to me. In short jacket, she'll top and skirt?

omg! I just saw the RSC folder from 2006? 2007? on your shelf! I have it sitting on mine right now too!
Yes! Talk about throwback!! 😁
I loooooooove houndstooth. PLEASE make that into a pattern. Or maybe share the chart?
