When I customize a pattern I trace around it onto a blank piece of heavy paper. Then I do my modifications on that piece and mark it so I can make more. I have some resin bjds that are artist dolls and they are weird proportions. Just something I do
Yes, definitely a good method! I do that for my most used patterns, usually I use cereal boxes. A lot of my dolls have the same proportions, so I don't need to make many adjustments.
I love the face on your little baggie doll. The shoes she came with look like the pilgrim shoes that Mod Barbie has. I wonder if they would fit Mod Barbie? I sew very basic doll clothes, I'm not that skilled, but I would love to do more ambitious projects. I love your Singer. I have a featherweight and I never realized the advantages of sewing doll clothes with a straight stitch until you mentioned it. I plan on viewing your tutorial about inserting doll sleeves in next. I love the final result. Your doll looks great, that dress is adorable. Thank you so much for all of the great tips.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed! Yes, I think they should fit Mod Barbie. I'm working to expand my sewing skills as well. The tutorial I linked is not mine, but a fellow doll youtuber. :)
The dress/boots combo suits her perfectly. I'd love to see more sew-along videos. I am a new sewer and this was super helpful.
Thanks! I'll have to look and see who needs a new outfit 🥰
I loved how the dress turned out! I’d love to see more videos of dolls in this scale. Like Licca, Vintage Skipper or blythe!
Thank you! and yes, this is definitely my favorite scale, so more to come!
Your doll outfit is so cute. Very 1960's. I like that fabric.
Thank you! The fabric is from Paradiso by Sally Kelly for Windham.
Great job! It came out really nice!
Thanks~!
