Seriously, I can’t understand these comments. So what he ‘s being sponsored by Michelin? Do you think supercars pay themselves? The guy brings great content on a consistent basis for free. Shut up and enjoy.
He mentioned in most videos before that he is a Michelin embassador. But I agree with you, more own cars would be cool. I guess you need to earn money to run thoses cars
I will charitably assume that you commenters and the OP are too young to know better so allow me to inform you of something you clearly don't know... it costs money to do what these car TH-camrs do. Often, a lot of money. Those bills don't pay themselves. TH-cam pays very little - even for popular videos. The solution? Sponsored videos and corporate collaborations. Don't like it? No problem... don't watch. But if that's your attitude, don't be surprised when your favorite TH-camr gives up.
Marc Cote You certainly are not the only one here who drank from the well of wisdom. I‘m well aware of the fact, that producing TH-cam videos and maintaining all those cars does cost money. But you know what? I do not have to like him posting a 13min advertisement disguised as a TH-cam video. In the end it’s not him paying us to watch his videos, but him earning his money through our clicks.
Monsteritz - I agree that these videos tend to be less interesting than some (much?) of the non-sponsored content. James, however, has been a spokesman for Michelin for some time now and part of his arrangement with them is, I assume, to make the videos Michelin wants him to make. I didn't hear or see the usual disclaimer about sponsored content, but then... I wasn't looking for it. It's a simple enough matter to move on to the next video if it bothers me. Still, you are not wrong... this was one long ad for Michelin. If I cared about the technology that was featured, I imagine that the video have interested me more... but tire sensors? No, thanks. Oh well, they can't all be winners, much like the rained-out track day.
In England atleast the cars are almost free! For example here in Finland new R8 without ANY options is 270 000£! Huracan Performante is 450 000£! Huracan LP580-2 is 350 000£! Here is just a few examples and the insurance for those cars are insane to! And because we usually have quite long winter u can drive your supercar here maybe 5 months per year.
DaToRaTo yeah same in Norway - the difference is that an average british earns way less than us scandinavians, so the price is right in term of salaries
Negnat Repsej actually Finland and England has about the same average wage. In Norway the wages are some of double what you earn in Finland. Depends on the job you do ofcourse.
john m lol, why are the scandinavian nations the happiest nations in the world then? Because of a welfare that works because we are smarter than the fat people in the US who votes their president as it is Dancing With The Stars
Negnat Repsej actually even in Sweden you get paid more than in Finland. Norway is in its own league what comes to wages. But again it depends on the job you do on average bases its like that.
I can understand where you’re coming from, but from a financial point of view, it’s actually a good country to OWN a supercar. Here in Portugal, where the national average salary is around 950euros, a GT3 costs about 200.000€, a Turbo S costs 250.000, McLaren doesn’t even sell cars here, a “simple” A45 is around 72.000€..
The reason why the fog is worse at the Stowe end of the circuit is that locals say basically it is a swamp - hence the pond appearing when they built the Wing...
Great video as always! But oh boy wait till you come to singapore. Cars are 3 times more expensive, no race tracks unless we cross over to malaysia and there are no exciting roads to drive (if there are, there's thousands of speed cameras) haha
Great to see the GT3 on another circuit again. Though, it all seems like proper full on tracks. Not many people do autocross circuits like the Goodguys Autocross. Hoping to see content on that perhaps cause most autocross tracks is actually about weight and balance than speed and power.
Probably something amazing like STG. Keep up the great work Mr. JWW. In other BIG announcements, Archie Hamilton got a Range Rover svr and supercars of London wrapped his lambo.
Register your LHD cars in Moldova. Everything only depends on engine size. One time import tax of a 3liter petrol around 5000€. Than insurance around 50-100€ a year. 12months roadtax around 150€, and 12months techincal inspection is around 10€ for any car, 1.4L or 6.3L doesnt matter
Tire telemetry is a thing of the future and great to see it being facilitated in non race cars. Reminds me of the scene in Days of Thunder when the mechanic kicks off about tire wear! Very cool indeed buddy :)
Every car company makes stuff like that inbuilt in their cars, even my mums Renault Twingo has tire sensor for temp and pressure and she isn't limited to one tire brand.
For many years the tax in Denmark have been 180% on cars - so lets say you go to Germany to buy a new car for 1 million danish crowns (apoxx 105.000 pounds)...then the government wants 1,8 mil in taxes ( aproxx 190.000 pounds)...which brings your car-total to 2,8 million crowns aproxx 295.000 pounds. I was smart enough to move to Sweden so i dont know how the rules are now (i think they lowered the tax to 150%) - but that makes it pretty much impossible to have any fun car in Denmark unless you're rich AF... (and ofc the insurance-prices matches the crazy car prices)
Ahhhh can’t beat silverstone in the rain!! Been there many a year when it’s poured it down! That track is amazing and one day I’ll go round it. Those tyres are epic!!
Sucks... Really? So great roads, hundreds of places to service any supercar and some of the greatest race circuits in the world and let's be really honest, the weather is actually spot on for cars most of the time.
Dude! 2 things. 1) I’m amazed at how many people comment about so much small time stuff in your videos. They really do pick up on some details (ref rubber left on wheels!). It’s also interesting what people watch for and what each person gets from each frame! 2) Bravo for still making an informative video at the adversity of such frustrating conditions. Professional stuff man. 🙌🏽 Oh and a bonus 3rd thing.... absolutely buzzing for 22nd... best of luck. 🙏🏽
Guys... heard about Denmark? We have 150% tax on cars. So when you are buying a car from the dealer, you're paying it one and half time to the state as well. Ridiculous!
Just come to gorgeous Spain, James. Great weather, incredible history and architecture, amazing food (unlike our horrible 'cuisine'), gorgeous varied landscapes and scenery, waaaaaay better infrastructures than in the UK, a much much much better health system and above it all truly amazing people. I made the move a decade ago and couldn't be happier.
Like your comments on black wheel balance weights. I had to go online to buy some after I got a puncture in my Type R. I've now got a box of them that I'll never fully use. Can't understand why the tyre garages don't have some of these black weights. No way was I having shiny weights on my black wheels.
Wouldn't down force negatively affect the data accumulated by the app...especially active aerodynamics James? Testing this system in the rain is actually very cool! Mega thanks James!!!
Man, Italy is the worst in Europe just after Greece. Here, the land of Lamborghini, Ferrari, Pagani and many other legendary brands, we have a yearly tax called superbollo, which consist of 20 euros for every kw over 185, about 250hp. In my case, with an audi rs3 with 400hp, this amounts to 2300€, over the normal taxes. In total I pay 4000€ a year, for a 60000€ car, excuding insurance. Petrol is also extremely expensive. A full tank of premium gas is 100€. What a shame.
Hey.. in Malaysia... an aventador costs RM3mil... yes 3 million... which is about 700 thousand dollars... and then he road tax for it is about 15 to 20 thousand ringgit soo... about 2 to 5 thousand dollars and that has to be paid anually. At this point... dont even get me started on the insurance.
I'm an enormous fan of the channel and luckily know that I'll enjoy a well made video regardless of the title, but yeah it was clickbaity. And yet I think the video would have been more enjoyable with the title hyped for this insane tyre tech! Or more on the point of genuine factors that make supercar ownership in the UK difficult to balance it out. Still a good video though!
This connected tyre seems like more pointless tech. Why not just drive a few laps, check pressures with a gauge and adjust. Bin the phone and enjoy the driving experience
One thing about the app, it seemed to just randomly start the lap time while you were just in a corner somewhere on the track! That felt quite strange to me!! I think it needs a bit more optimisation!
Can't help but think it comes off as being a bit of a gimmick James. Realistically your average track day driver would be better off spending their cash on getting some instruction on the circuit.
Body-kitted 316-shed Yup While that’s an admittedly great sounding app, I fail to see the relevance for any track day Driver that is not a Mark Weber at least. I mean most track rats myself included are just not good enough to where this would be the only way they could improve.
djbrianc - Some instruction from an experienced racer will be a much better investment than a gimmick like these tyres. I bet they’re stupidly expensive too!
I live in the Netherlands as well. That car tax is crazy. I brought mine over from the UK and take it back and forth once per month so I don't have to pay it. Petrol is also more in the Netherlands than in the UK. And car leasing.
Am I the only one who noticed that rear left tyre alone had 37* degree as temperature reading while all the other three were ranging in 29*. James could you please explain, was there any problem with that tyre sensor alone??
Man that felt like long winded and boring commercial for an app with doubt in its usefulness. James were the heck is the exiting content you made a year ago?
Perfect opportunity missed to get the car sliding about while showing us how the tyres react and how the Connect app helps in the wet. I thought these GT3s were supposed to handle?
Shame that app won't be allowed on most UK trackdays given they do not allow timing and that app clearly shows lap timing which means you only be able to view it once off track ... shame as it looks interesting.
Come to Finland and you won't have any car with same price as in other countries because we have high taxes for sports and super cars. It's almost impossible to buy a new 911 GT3 or Ferrari F12.
Come to Norway even worse and then you add taxes on top of the price of the supercars and you end up with a gt3 costing double of what one in the UK does
Who wants to own some boring electric car that cant even get to the next big city from the other without recharging the battery, I'd take a GT3 over a tesla anyday
It’s a cool gimmic but really for the normal person it’s pointless in my eyes unless your doing a track day every weekend or your trying to get into racing but for you use and 99% of people it is a pointless bit of tech sorry I just don’t rate machine at all like you take your car to the machine fitting centre where they teach people how to fit there tyres and they can’t even clean your rims or take the tyre sticker off before they try balancing them they are really unprofessional and don’t seem to know they own tech
This app should not require user input, at least as an option to optimize tire life and driving dynamics/comfort. Michelin needs to work on this else they will lose this prospect to another firm/developer
It's a great app but I think you've wasted your track day worrying about the app when you could have used the opportunity to improve your wet track driving skills and come back to the app on a more suitable day.
All these people here in Europe and America talking about how taxes on supercars there are high. I dare you to come to Bangladesh, wanna see high taxes? We have to pay 5 times, yes 5 TIMES, the price of the supercar we are buying in taxes. I hope you guys will never feel sad again
But they should complain and try to reduce taxes, they are high af. If people don't complain the government will walk all over them. But it's also true that there are much worse places, south america, singapore ...
Come to Malta!! Were supercars are useless and having a smart is enough :S and taxes on cars are expensive, buying a lambo, high end porsche, mclaren etc etc even 2 hand, you have to pay more then at least 80k in taxes
there’s a lot of pissing and moaning about your day and the weather. it’s October ! Dude you are still driving your GT3 around silverstone being paid by your sponsor.
Seriously, I can’t understand these comments. So what he ‘s being sponsored by Michelin? Do you think supercars pay themselves? The guy brings great content on a consistent basis for free. Shut up and enjoy.
Luis Moreira 👏👏👍
For some reason, a certain generation would rather have a free endorsement than to someone rep a brand thinking they are a shill
Well said!
Say it again for the children.
Obligatory "Where is the TDF?" comment
july next year
oh you mean his ferrari F12 lol
Gave you an obligatory like
This video got me thinking I accidentally clicked on a Michelin advertisement.
Could be a bit of a clickbait. He obviously knows who the hell wants to watch a tire ad
He mentioned in most videos before that he is a Michelin embassador. But I agree with you, more own cars would be cool. I guess you need to earn money to run thoses cars

Is James’s big announcement that he’s moving from the U.K.?
Seen Through Haggis hopefully
Imagine him moving to Monaco or Dubai 😱😱
No i think he is going to be on a TV show me thinx. Or openining a shop of some sort.
Terry Osborne Top Gear?
I'm guessing it's racing.
In England atleast the cars are almost free! For example here in Finland new R8 without ANY options is 270 000£! Huracan Performante is 450 000£! Huracan LP580-2 is 350 000£! Mate come to ireland.. 250k for an r8, insurance is insane, roads are terrible, tax is insane etc etc....
man come to singapore, a million sgd for one
Come to Jersey, no place to drive about 30 mph 😂
Come to Denmark, 180% tax on all cars, 120% tax on safety equitment, shitty roads, but hey, the insurance isn't that bad
Sounds like South Africa😂😂😂
In Austria car buyers are being taxed to the max as well... It is mad how much prices differ when comparing car prices to Germany or the UK🙄
The reason why the fog is worse at the Stowe end of the circuit is that locals say basically it is a swamp - hence the pond appearing when they built the Wing...
Loving your work sir! 👏 You're the only ' Motorhead' I subscribe to, presentation is superb, can't wait for the 'big announcement' ! 👍
In Spain we might have a great weather for driving most of the time, but taxes on supercars will set you back a lot James...
Great video, surprised the noise limit stuff didn't make the edit :D I can't wait to do a full test with track connect early next year!
Another brown nosing comment.
Never have I stopped watching a jww video so quickly. Can't all be golden content I suppose.
Great video as always! But oh boy wait till you come to singapore. Cars are 3 times more expensive, no race tracks unless we cross over to malaysia and there are no exciting roads to drive (if there are, there's thousands of speed cameras) haha

That thumbnail was godly
NVN
Buy a black permanent marker pen and black out the weights. Also good on touch up on black cars too.
Probably something amazing like STG. Keep up the great work Mr. JWW.
In other BIG announcements, Archie Hamilton got a Range Rover svr and supercars of London wrapped his lambo.
Michelin will be happy about how you managed the comments. Good boy. Partnership renewed.
Right-on! JWW deflected the weight mounting issue very well. Will keep the bigwigs happy, for sure.

As does mine but it doesn't tell me what pressures etc to use dependant on my driving. Unlike the system James has.
Erich Wiehahn So good 🍩👌🏼
Sucks... Really? So great roads, hundreds of places to service any supercar and some of the greatest race circuits in the world and let's be really honest, the weather is actually spot on for cars most of the time.
Yep:-)
john m i mean, thatsa massive overreaction but ok
come to Malta mate, and Uk for cars is heaven
@john m 100% agreed. The West is filled with socialist pigs. Dubai and Japan is where greatness lies.
Shame about the weather, but still fascinating stuff. Thanks James.
I much rather you being filmed rather than filming yourself great video mate full of good content and info👍🏻
In Italy we have an extra tax for cars with more of 250 hp so if you have a 500 hp supercar you have to pay 5k € every year...
Dude! 2 things.
1) I’m amazed at how many people comment about so much small time stuff in your videos. They really do pick up on some details (ref rubber left on wheels!). It’s also interesting what people watch for and what each person gets from each frame!

drove the Project 8 last week. that thing is a beast!!
Great start to a Saturday morning!
1: keyless entry car/bike theft not being taken seriously by police
2: road tax
3: insurance price's
4: petrol tax
5: potholes
Color the wheel weights with a Sharpie lol that's what I did. Works better than you'd think :P
Guys... heard about Denmark? We have 150% tax on cars. So when you are buying a car from the dealer, you're paying it one and half time to the state as well. Ridiculous!

what about car tax hehe.... Uk si a car tax heaven compared to almost all EU countries
Like your comments on black wheel balance weights. I had to go online to buy some after I got a puncture in my Type R. I've now got a box of them that I'll never fully use. Italy is far from the worst. Denmark has a reg tax equal to 180% of the cost. So, for 60k, you have to pay 108k just to register the car.
Move to Munich, Germany. Huge supercar scene with tons of super- and hypercars, the autobahn and within 30 min you've got great alpine roads
Hey.. in Malaysia... an aventador costs RM3mil... yes 3 million... which is about 700 thousand dollars... and then he road tax for it is about 15 to 20 thousand ringgit soo... about 2 to 5 thousand dollars and that has to be paid anually. At this point... dont even get me started on the insurance.

Mr JWW, please visit Singapore.
One thing about the app, it seemed to just randomly start the lap time while you were just in a corner somewhere on the track! That felt quite strange to me!! I think it needs a bit more optimisation!
Nice to see F1 tech filtering down to the track day. Would have been nice to have been given the price of the unit.
At least the VAT in UK is 20-25%, not 125% plus narrow, broken roads and jealous fellow citizens.
Can't help but think it comes off as being a bit of a gimmick James. Realistically your average track day driver would be better off spending their cash on getting some instruction on the circuit.
True. agreed, but it's something to brag about down the pub.
Neil McMahon - I guess so. I’m willing to bet that 12 months from now that app has bitten the dust though.
Body-kitted 316-shed Yup
While that’s an admittedly great sounding app, I fail to see the relevance for any track day Driver that is not a Mark Weber at least. I mean most track rats myself included are just not good enough to where this would be the only way they could improve.
djbrianc - Some instruction from an experienced racer will be a much better investment than a gimmick like these tyres. I bet they’re stupidly expensive too!
You clearly haven't been in the Netherlands yet... €120.000 for a new Mustang GT
And that retarded tax called Bpm. Only the Netherlands has it. Tax like these are just legalized theft.
We have an insane car taxes in Finland, example normal Ferrari 488 cost 500 000€ and Mercedes Benz S63 amg 300 000€
Don’t complain about weather. It makes racing interresting.
Come on man! It's October in England, you can't complain lol
James come to Brands Hatch for a track day! Maybe next year in the summer when the weather is better though haha.
Man that felt like long winded and boring commercial for an app with doubt in its usefulness. James were the heck is the exiting content you made a year ago?
Don’t even complain, in Thailand we have 350% car tax.
James I liked the video. I’m kind of new to the channel. I definitely will enjoy your videos 👍🏻
I’m literally about to hop on a plane to the UK to STEAL your TDF to make ourselves a video of the damn thing!!!!! Come onnnnnnnn!
Quite nifty, but most people on a UK day won't be able to get away with a phone on the windscreen like that
the summer we have had in the UK has been second to none so you can moan about a bit of rain, the tyre thing very clever tho:-)
Perfect opportunity missed to get the car sliding about while showing us how the tyres react and how the Connect app helps in the wet. I thought these GT3s were supposed to handle?
Hey James the tune you used to open the video. Where from & what is it called? Love your work
It sucks because you have the steering wheel on the wrong side when you drive through Europe.
This video was once again brought to you by our sponsor, Michelin.
W-James The best Tyres 👌🏼 What a brand 🍩 to be Ambassador of - MrJWW is nailing it!!!!
Agent Pena No, it's made allot of shit tyres in the past and MR JWW is turing into a corporate shill.
The UK has had a great summer so it makes this Autumn even more depressing.
Get yourself to the isle of man mate, supercar heaven over here
Great video bud - Plasti Dip your Wheel Weights - Dead Easy - Job Done! - You’re Welcome!👍😂
I live in Scandinavia... No worse place for supercars...
Thought you'd be in Dubai with Parker and the stradman ; )
Shame that app won't be allowed on most UK trackdays given they do not allow timing and that app clearly shows lap timing which means you only be able to view it once off track ... shame as it looks interesting.
You don’t have to time, it’s just an option
Ah even better! When my next set of Cup2 tyres are done I'll be tempted to take a look depending on cost!
You should paint your roll cage matching your stitching.
Come to Finland and you won't have any car with same price as in other countries because we have high taxes for sports and super cars. It's almost impossible to buy a new 911 GT3 or Ferrari F12.
Come to Norway even worse and then you add taxes on top of the price of the supercars and you end up with a gt3 costing double of what one in the UK does
KoNLaR but your normal salary is way bigger than in England.
Not double than England tho and we got higher taxes and fees on everything
KoNLaR fair enough but you get cheap Teslas ;D
Who wants to own some boring electric car that cant even get to the next big city from the other without recharging the battery, I'd take a GT3 over a tesla anyday
KoNLaR heh, GT3 for me to but Tesla has supercar performance 0-200km/h atleast the first 200km :P
Do they put nitrogen in the tyres? Is that actually effective or just a gimmick
This app should not require user input, at least as an option to optimize tire life and driving dynamics/comfort. Michelin needs to work on this else they will lose this prospect to another firm/developer
James I like that watch mate👀
Come more often to socal the car culture is fantastic nice tracks and the weather is world class
The organizers of this event should of had it in summer seems kind of a no brainer
looks like you’ve yet to take this beast to the next level, to esmotoruk
James..........you forgot the signature ending.........lol......
Cold? - I'm still in shirts mate. 🤣
Has a track car with a cage and harnesses... uses normal seatbelt, clearly taking it easy in the wet!
James big surprise might be the move to the land of the friendly, in this case, maple territory.
Move to Canada 🇨🇦 great roads descent weather for most of the year and it feels like uk but with better weather 😎👌👍
Try to come in Italy where if you have more than 250hp you have to pay an enourmous amount of money
@MRJWW What Iphone mount was that in the film, thanks.
2 days to go!!! awesome video James.
For all you british who are complaining about uk condition... Try to live 1 year in Italy... then, guaranteed, you're gonna love your country
A far cry from your horse back riding :-( Although the thing that stuck with me about that video is your walking afterwards ;-)
Just move to the USA for insanely cheap supercars or to Germany for the best roads to drive your car on
I knew the answer to this before I even watched. But of course I watched and liked. Lol
Spokesmen for Pirelli and personal car has Michelin tires. Lol
Tires are tires. But are they really
Hope Michelin got their money back for this ad.
Far too teccy and boring for the most of us , but that's what happens when you get paid to demonstrate something .
Eyeballs as always are immersed
Gorgeous!!!
