    It should be noted in the video that when sizing your gloves, you should not be able to pull them off your hands easily. If you can pull them off easily, it means that they might come off in a crash. Make sure that the wrist straps and overall fit are such that they will remain on your hands in a get-off. Otherwise, it's a good video.

    ***** Prices fluctuate with sales, promotions, closeouts, and increases in material costs, which is why we give a range instead of an actual figure. For the most up-to-date prices, have a look at the product pages. -Hi-Viz Brian

      @JohnInSale 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Since this video is a sizing and buying guide (explaining different types of glove options) we held off on including the price because we weren't targeting specific glove models. If you see a pair of gloves you like and go to their detailed breakdown video, we should have included the price range. If we didn't include it in the product's detailed breakdown video, we will get that corrected. Thanks! -Hi-Viz Brian

    I recently bought some Alpinestars Carbon 2 gloves from you guys. My hands are 8.5” in circumference, so I purchased a large. I like the fit, however my fingers slightly touched the ends. I probably should have waited till they broke in, but I did a little pulling on the fingers and they feel good now.

    How are you storing your gloves when not in use? They should be in a place that is damp, cold, and dark for starters :-). There are leather cleaning kits available, but they are tricky to use with gloves. Maybe you need a better ventilated pair? -CK

    I Highly recommend the Pursuit glove from ICON, Nothing in the world fits better. However I really with ICON would make a gauntlet version.
    Keep in mind, once a leather glove gets wet, and dries, the fit will be come very snug, but will loosen up again after time.

  • @RevZilla
    @RevZilla  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Typically, the more protection, the better. If the gloves are comfortable and you feel more safe in a gauntlet glove on your commute, then there is really no reason not to use them commuting. ~Ali

    Man I love those black leather pursuit gloves, I tried those on the first time and though the large was a perfect fit, the guy at the counter owned these and recommended a size smaller even if they were to tight and he was right, at first they were a little hard to get on and tight but after a few rides they were perfect fit

  • @RiggadonDan
    @RiggadonDan 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would disagree that textile does not break in, at least for dirt riding. Every textile glove I have owned has broken in after 10 or so hours of technical offroad riding, loosening about 5%. I assume street riding puts less stress on a textile glove, and it doesn't break in as much.

    I have a question. At the end of the video, you mention that leathers shouldn't be washed (submerged in water). Unfortunately for me, I have extremely smelly hand sweat. Enough so that during the summer, my gloves will smell like ammonia. Yeah, it's bad. Therefore, I have to wash them in soap and water at least once a month. So, I go through a pair of decent gloves almost once a year. Do you have any suggestions?

    Hey Revzilla. Sorry for bringing this up. But i would like to know how you guys consider a pair of gloves a good fit. I myself have experienced a few pairs, and even though by going with the correct suggested size, some just feel wrong.
    Points like, should you be able to stretch your entire hand, should you have a little bit of room at the tip of each finger (Most of my gloves have my fingers touching the end of the gloves, while the thumbs always have excess materials).
    Thank you.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Just as people's hands vary, so do glove brands. For properly-fitting gloves, you shouldn't have any excess material in the palm, fingers, and thumb. Additionally, if you can fully spread your hands, the gloves are probably too loose. Gloves are designed to fit when your hands are on your handlebar grips. -DrewZilla

    Hi, I bought a pair of Spanish Garibaldi Defence pro in the L size (10). 8 of my fingers fit perfectly, but my thumbs feel cramped in the gloves and if I extend my thimbs to press the horn, I feel my thumb digging into the edge stitching. Should I go one size up (where there is about 2mm gap between 8 of my fingers while holding on the grips but no gap on the thumbs) or stick with the 10 size? The gloves are a hybrid textile/cow leather spring/summer/fall type (somewhere between a full gauntlet and short wrist)

    I've got 3 pairs of gloves and the fingers on all of them are slightly too short, which means my hands ache after an hour or so. Cruise control clip helps a lot, lets me open my grip out and relax. Keyboard practice while riding also helps - gets the blood flowing.

      Yeah, leather on gloves typically breaks in about 10-15% so a tight fit is ideal.

    Hello,
    I'm a classical guitarist, meaning that the nails on my right hand are long, for finger picking, Need gloves that won't damage my nails. What would you recommend?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your best bet will probably be custom gloves because "off the shelf" gloves have the same finger lengths on both gloves. You need gloves with longer fingers on the right hand to accomidate your finger nails. What type of gloves fit your riding style? -Hi-Viz Brian

      Have a look at the Dainese Blackjack and Roland Sands gloves. They have internal seams at the fingertips that stop your fingers, but allow your fingernails to pass over them. They're also made of very plush leather that will break-in nicely. -Hi-Viz Brian

    On the size chart i should have been a large. I got an extra large for extra room, is that safe or no? Don’t want these falling off in the event of a crash

      Loose gloves are bulky and not good for comfort or control. It does also mean the gloves might be pulled off in a crash. You want gloves to fit like a second skin. -DrewZilla

    I have some old A* gp tech gloves like 10 years or something. They are Medium and they are super tight maybe even too small? I did the 2 types of measuring flat and circumference at 3.75" and 8.75". I also wear a size 9 in my work gloves. My question is Anthony says he wears an XL in A* and from watching him measure his hands which seem the same size as mine I can't quite figure which size to order. XL seems so big at 2 sizes diff from my old gloves which I wore for several years...

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd actually recommend size large for you. -DrewZilla

  • @francispetaluma
    @francispetaluma 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you please explain to me why the size chart doesn't match up with your hand measurements for these RS gloves? You measure your hand which is 8.5 inches (same as mine) then in the other vid you say you're a size large; the size chart states a large as being 9.5-10 inches - what is the correct sizing?
    As a side note: motorcycle apparel should always be fitted, in other words "fit tight". Nothing worst than a loose fitting jacket or glove when you're traveling at 70 mph on the freeway. Just saying...

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Merv Cann It also depends on finger size and personal preference. My palm circumference is 8.25in, and I wear a medium in the Full Metal and a small in some of the Dainese street gloves. I have slightly shorter fingers (3.25in middle finger), though, so that leads to my appropriate size. -DrewZilla

    I'm about to buy the Alpinestars Archer X-Trafit but I'm not sure what size I need. My allround handsize is around 21,5-23 cm and from knuckle to knuckle it's around 8 cm.. Some charts tell me to get large but I'm not quite sure since it's Alpinestars and leather. Can you help me with this one?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Orthodux I would recommend you measure the length of your middle finger from tip to where it meets your palm. If your middle finger measures 8.5cm or less, you may actually be able to fit size medium. If your middle finger is longer than 8.5cm, go with size large. Even though these gloves are leather, the Gore-Tex keeps them from stretching too much, so you may want to go for size large. -DrewZilla

    got A* GP Plus R, size Medium. it fits, except the thumb has a lot of extra room (I hope you understand what I'm trying to say),... other fingers and overall fit is great. do you think it's going to be a problem? Should I size down?
    thanks!

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the overall fit is good, then having the longer thumb is ok. The finger length and fit across the palm is more important. I would stay with size medium. -DrewZilla

    If I follow the size charts for gloves they put me in a medium-large for most brands at just below 10” circumference. Problem is I can’t even get my hand in a medium or large due to my finger length. I usually get an XL but my fingertips are still cramped in many brands at XL. I split the fingertip seams on my last two pair in less than two seasons. I have since switched to a XXL and that seems to work but the glove is not as snug.
    My question is, Is there any way you can help the manufacturers list the middle finger length (no jokes) along with the circumferences? This way you can make a more educated decision.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We'd love if manufacturers measured finger length, but it's really difficult to get them to do so. In general, though, we find that REV'IT! Gloves are good for longer fingers. -DrewZilla

    Hello. I am about to buy a pair of gloves, but I have some concerns. I tried some gloves to get a feeling. With the most of gloves (summer leather gloves) I tried my hand can fit both medium and large size. Medium feels a little uncofmortable (but i suppose it will stretch a little). I think Large is my size but although the fingers seem to fit nice my thumb floats a little and there is some space between the glove and the thumb. So I am stuck in which size is better for my hands. Thank you.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tilemachos Sheva It seems like medium is actually your size. If there is extra room in brand new size large gloves, they will be too loose once broken in. Stick with medium, since they'll break in to be perfect. -DrewZilla

      RevZilla I had a similar predicament and ended up buying XL instead of L. L was very tight and I had to fight with the gloves to put it on. The XL itself was bit too tight initially but the fingers still have room on top (except for the middle one which is almost touching the tip). Have I made a mistake of buying the XL size? Wish I had found this video before buying. Thanks..

    I hate glove manufacturers. They never take in to consideration that there are people that halve super long fingers and not the widest of hands. Its stupid. They should do measurments like trousers, 4 inches wide and 8 long!

    Usually I am a large. (Just shy of 9in on your measure around the hand scale)
    Donald Trump hand measurements if you will.
    The ones I am looking at on your page:
    Rev'it Taurus
    Rev'it Aquila
    Rukka Imatra
    (I have some Alpine Stars that fit perfectly as do Oakley gloves)
    Suggestions?

    So my question is since I have weird shaped hands, my gloves fit me perfectly in my middle and index finger perfectly but with my pinky and thumb there's the slightest room left but when I grip onto something they slide up my fingers and fit like i feel they should. Is this normal? They're size xl but the size L were too small and xl feels to big on 3 of my fingers

    • @shaynemccrindle5752
      @shaynemccrindle5752 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is totally normal. My gloves fit the same way. The truth is, unless you get a custom glove, nothing will be perfect. These manufacturers have to do their best to cover the most 'average' shaped hand, but it is rare you fit those exact dimensions. As long as your fingers are comfortable when gripping the bars, you should be good to go. -TeamZilla Chris
