Hi, ladies!! I just wanted to thank you both SOO much for this video!! I just got a job in the meat department and was having a HORRIBLE time wrapping meat. I was so embarrassed so I decided to look up videos on TH-cam but couldn’t find too much. However, your technique in particular has CHANGED THE GAME for me!!! I can actually wrap meat well now!!! Thank you both so so so much!!!! You saved my life hahahah!

We are so glad we were able to help. When I first started wrapping our own meat I felt the same way. That is why we decided to do the video. Congratulations on the new job.

Excellent tips! Love the way you demonstrate triple-wrapping the meat.
I have a chemical sensitivity to ink markers so I use meat marking pencil or grease pencil. Prevents worries about odor/ bleed-through.

We haven't tried that before. If you try it let us know how it goes.

What can use in replace of butcher paper? Will parchment work?

If you are looking to freeze for longer than a month I really recommend buying butcher paper. If you get it in bulk it is very reasonably priced. I get mine at a restaurant supply store in town.

Hello again! When I (Emmaline) was growing up my grandparents used the paper bags from the grocery store. I think in a pinch this could be another option, but you must be aware that when you pull your meat from the freezer and set if on the counter to thaw the paper bags will soak the liquid and become quite a mess whereas the butcher paper will stand up better. You also risk a possibility of freezer burn when it comes to an extensive length of storage whereas the butcher paper will stand the longer test of time. But, in a pinch paper bags is another option. I hope this idea helps.
Parchment paper is much thinner and I would not recommend using it.

Thanks! Do you have videos on how to wrap larger cuts of meat like steaks?

We don’t but similar rules would apply.

Thank you! How long are the pieces of paper?

The paper is 18 inches wide and we try to cut it square when we go to use it.

You just need some barrier to moisture and air. Maybe wax coated fabric?
