Nice video! For long term storage 6-12+ months using freezer paper is great. When only freezing for a month or two I only use the freezer ziplock bag. I use Freezer paper with plastic wrap or ziplocks to get the air out and that works great. I have a vacuum sealer also and find it to be completely unnecessary.
Thank you for the feedback! And I agree that a vacuum sealer is not needed! I typically pack everything like this just in case something I thought was going to be short term storage becomes long term.
I'm going to try this method because I'm going to start buying ground beef from Costco to save money, I eat about 3 or 4 pounds of Ground beef a day, other days I will eat Eggs, steaks, and combine other foods and I won't eat as mush ground beef, I'm on the Carnavor lifestyle, Thanks so mush for this Idea
so basically your giving instructions to someone who has never put a piece of meat in the freezer before. I get it! Stephen will have to watch this. He might learn something. _- (Stephen Garcias wife)_
How can we prepare our food for freezing without dumping plastic bags and plastic coated freezer paper into our garbage (landfills) over and over and over?
You can remove all the air till you get to the point where the juice is about to meet the seal. Once you are there you can seal the freezer bag up. As long as the only thing in the bag is meat and juice it will last a long time. The more air you leave in the bag the more freezer burn and the shorter the storage time.
@@resoluteoutdoors Newspaper, after plastic bag or wrap. That said, I'd assume the slick-side feature of freezer paper adds better layer of protection for longer-term freezing.

Thank you, I just started wrapping my meat and fish, I also find it works just as well as vacuum sealing.
Thank you for the feedback! I am glad it works for you.

I don’t know. Freezer bags and/or freezer paper are the only ways I am aware of when it comes to freezing meat long term.
If you are serious about this desire then you should research ancient or colonial methods of food preservation. Or watch homesteader channels.
I’m selling me and it keeps sucking up the juice from the meat I don’t know what to do any suggestions?

If you always freeze things spend 30 dollars on Amazon and buy a vaccum sealer. It even comes with bags.
With the world we are living in now some people might not have 30 extra dollars to spend.
Just watched a long time fisherman do the same thing but after
baggin the fish he wrapped the fish in news paper,,,,
I’ve never tried that but that sounds interesting. I wonder if the ink from the paper would rub off on the fish.
