Back in middle and HS, my family was so effed up. Most of the folks I knew were effed too. My life was pretty effed up and was I too. I saw no escape and then I heard this incredible song. Suddenly everything was okay, even a bit cool. Me and my effed life. Sure, everything was effed up but I finally had a voice in my effed up life. This song may not have meant much to most but since the mid 90s, it's meant the world to me.
Odd social experiment. And this isn't smart ass.... do you hate who you are? Are you happy and content with yourself? Well, don't forget the effed up people who helped teach you who not to be....
I always thought James Iha was one of those people that were effortlessly cool. It’s great seeing him back with Billy. Maybe one day we could see D’Arcy too? 🤞🏽
He never knew how to sing :) ... but back then, no one cared about that... it was all about the felling of the songs. He still cannot sing, and this song still remains unbelievable , but in this performance missing the Chamberlin drum magic, definitly the SP most precious musician
and it was co-written between Billy and James too, with james contributing the awesome intro lick (source: guitar world interview) at least. James and Billy also jointly-wrote Soma.
I had this albumn on a TDK cassette tape. I would drive to a place called Wampum Lake after school in my Chevy Caprice and listen over and over. Thanks Billy....
Feeling myself .... but the mood of the song but looking at these gentlemen and even though they were about five six years older than me in the 90s... Being the younger part of generation x wish I could go back in time for a couple months.. good to see Billy & Ja mes still kicking it
Shame it's only 50 percent of the band... Ok, Billy wrote and recorded that album pretty much solo, but would have been nice to see them all back together.
He kind of looks like Bill Burr in this video LOL all jokes aside this is my favorite song by the Smashing Pumpkins I still have the propaganda magazine with them in it if anybody remembers that

That sounds....effed.
@@kinja73 effed in the A
Always my favorite off that album. Great acoustic version.
this and Cherub rock are my favorites from Siamese Dream, but I can still listen to and enjoy the entire album cover to cover
Yep. Definitely a press play and walk away album. @@benr77
any other "press play walk away" albums you like?@@heavyeagle2371
So good to see/hear James and Billy playing together again! 👌🏻🙏🏻
Muzzle and Mayonaise 2 of their best songs EVER !!!! Thank you Pumpkins for giving me the chills again!!!
These are my favorites also.
1:12 that iconic fuzz distortion immediately comes to mind... it's like the sky is falling on your head...elite level guitar work

Definitely not
definitely not.. and its not necessary
they all reached out to her and...... nah
any female bassist will do.....
Yes it wld be very cool to see darcy play again with the pumkins, but there is just alot of personal animosity apparently
@@analyticgeometry1 never say never
he can still sing. No one sounds like him. great show
He could never sing 😂
Stephen Lynch does lol
Tiene 56 años por qué razón no podría cantar!? 🤷🏻♂️ No es un actor porno! 😅

One of the greatest song ever written. ❤️

he really hit that "I just want to be me..." in the end... awesome...
I love how this is almost the same angle of the studio release performance 30 years ago.
My favorite song by them, thank you for posting. ❤
What a wonderful song and so good to see the band back together. Does anyone else think Billy is just a big cherub now?
Billy doesn't get enough credit for his songwriting, guitar playing, and singing!!dudes a beast!
I had this albumn on a TDK cassette tape. I would drive to a place called Wampum Lake after school in my Chevy Caprice and listen over and over. Thanks Billy....
i've always loved this song. still sounds great. Stands the test of time
Glad to see Uncle Fester found success after television.
Never heard that one before. How did you come up with that?
This album came out the year i graduated high school i listened on repeat it was a great summer
My dream to sit that close in a venue that small. Man that is so cool.
Fantastic view. Thanks for posting! Gorgeous song.
I have always liked them and seen them many times, but this was unexpectedly awesome.
Wow somebody needs to edit this with the past Tower Records video! amazing and thank you for uploading this!
Great version of a great great song

Ahhh, 1993. It was a very good year. Back then Billy's singing was seen as a bit odd. But it's clearly the reason he can still sing like that today.
I love this song. But Thirty Three is my favorite.
Which order would you give your Rock and Roll Hall of Fame choices if you had to.
--Smashing Pumpkins
--Soundgarden
--Alice in Chains
Just in that order
Stunningly beautiful as it's always been if not better!
Snail, Mayonaise, Muzzle. Triumvirate of pure genius.
Phenomenal performance
Billy seems to be in a better place the last number of years. I don't know if humble is the word but he has changed a bit. For the better I think.
He came across quite well in his interview with Joe Rogan
Réécouter cette chanson me fait remonter tellement de souvenirs
J'ai les yeux qui piquent
Merci
simply beautiful.... wow!
te amo smashing pumpkins
This one really hits deep with me.....
Hope Darcy shows up for old times sake, soon.. the fans want it.
nah, not necessary...
any female bassist could do it...
they reached out to her and..... nah
Such a great song!
This song was my first dance with a girl.
Thank you for this. This was my favorite SP album
I know musicians like people evolve,,,Just wish he could still write epic songs like from those long ago days,
Thank you Billy. Favorite song
Aged like a fine wine
wow.... the same voice...... so good. so much memories....
Billy borrowed the joker's suit.
What a great song
This is awesome
Still have the full version on my phone when they played in Vegas 2019.some dark days in my past but today is nothing but sunshine
one of my fav tie ins ... Jack on bass, Peter Hook's son and how he ended up as the bass player with Smashing Pumpkins.
This is amazing 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Happy happy joy joy
He sings a bit more like he used to sing in this version
Hes not yelling the lyrics like he used to live, back in the day. :)
Brings me back memories 😅😅
❤❤❤❤
thanks for posting! an amazing show and their best song
Ah, Siamese. My favorite song on Mayonaise Dream.
Thank you for posting this 🤍 The perfect song
Shame it's only 50 percent of the band... Ok, Billy wrote and recorded that album pretty much solo, but would have been nice to see them all back together.
Jimmy was on the drums. Just couldn't see him from my angle. Everyone but D'arcy
@@justinprince222 Ah, fair enough...
❤mi canción favorita
that was a great performance.. did they do the outro? it cut.. I'm guessing not
Tremenda letra y música ! SP❤
Ladies and Gentlemen Mayonaise
Still one of the greatest riffs ever
Just before this, Billy said that it was originally from a demo James gave him.
@@jerahmaya77 good to see them both killing it in 2023, on the acoustics, just like MTV unplugged sesh of yore.
Side note: Jeff looks cool as hell with long hair
That D’arcy there on the left? Looking good.
👍
He kind of looks like Bill Burr in this video LOL all jokes aside this is my favorite song by the Smashing Pumpkins I still have the propaganda magazine with them in it if anybody remembers that
Where is the cut?
i want to see the cut from those dudes getting in the way with their cameras..
th-cam.com/video/Gic7c7naCro/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JTboJ82EL7vWJZ_w&t=2743
Billy is wearing some terrific Paul Smith socks..
The world is a vampire
It could’ve been different if D’arcy is around…
Where is this tower record store?
Damn, this is almost a religious experience.
Those socks tho.
At Tower Records? Are we in prebankruptcy times again?
Where D'arcy guys?
Joker suit as front man
Holy cow D'Arcy really didnt age well
I love EVERYTHING except Opera House Billy Voice
He's too tall, he's bald and has a strawberry birthmark covering his left hand. That's why hes the ultimate rock star. Or anti rock star if you will.
It isn't SP without the original 4
Bad note at 1:38
Why does he do that thing with his voice.... it comes off as disingenuous.
Damn. Did D'arcy go on testosterone therapy?
Yawn acoustic
Not yawn, but doesn't hit the same. Still good.
You gotta be 16 years old in 1996 to truly appreciate this song.
