Himself did very well. Love, love the sweater and you got a chance to wear it in June, who would have said that with our British weather! 🙄 I've had a busy month making amigurumi stars from the Star Shine pattern on Ravelry. I make something for my grandchildren for completing a school and doing well. But this year I've added friends children in to the mix as well as a future son in law shoot an amazing score in his uni work. The cowl is so pretty, perfect for cooler ceremonies for you. I've never done any bead work but it is something I would like to try in the near future. Cast on my first pair of knitted socks for my husband. One cuff and part of a leg done. Also got a shawl cast on. But I have an urge to crochet a blanket too. Have a lovely cone of yarn I got a few years ago that has finally decided that it wants to be one, so great timing! Loved that episode, thank you - it felt very happy! The bit about the best china teaset so reminded me of my mum, who always had several sets, and she brought us up to respect our "Sunday Best" clothes, to the extent that I have found it difficult to let go of that habit - but of course as you say, that means the 'good' clothes never get worn. It was only during the pandemic, when there was never any reason to wear anything nice apart from that it makes you feel good, that I managed to break through, and now I wear clothes every day that I enjoy. x
Hi Carol. It's a universal experience, I think, and it makes sense to save some things for "best", both to protect them and to make their use special. But also, our lives are different now - if people come for dinner, it's more likely to be for laughter and company, rather than fancy "dinner party" rules, so the plates don't matter. Hi Lesley Still got table envy, glad it’s working out for you, admiring the hat, really must get on with it and make stuff. Boxy looks great, still not sure that style would suit me. Your yarn still looks yummy and glad to get a better look at it, shame there isn’t touchy- feely screen. Cowl looks nice, the beads complement it really well. I’ve managed to delete and recreate my hacked Instagram account, so the first thing I did was put up a pic of my Boho Blanket. I’ve cast on a cardigan and a shawl (Kokopelli) and finished my crochet bear. Started another as it was intended for Grandson3, but the safety eyes are not suitable for his age, so this one will have embroidered features and no hat or ribbon.Also started a pair of socks, so as to have a portable project in my bag again. Starting to venture out again a bit Another visit to Hairdressers and to LYS where I bought some cotton/bamboo for the crochet cardi I’m wanting to make (now behind second bear). Also friends garden. I've been to a yarnshow near Harrogate. Spring Into Wool in 2019. In what I think was called "The Grammar School at Leeds". We spent that easter in York and I actually had nothing to do with the fact that I ended up at a yarn festival. Hubby told me after he booked the plain tickets and hotel to check if there were any yarn festivals that easter. If it wasn't for him, I never would have ended up at Spring Into Wool!

Lovely cardigan. I’m mainly a crocheter but started knitting a few years ago. I’m much slower at knitting and still struggle with fixing errors or some stitch patterns. Crochet is tons faster for me. I bought the Boxy and want to get going with it but I know it’s gonna take ages. I really like your crochet version ❤️

Love the sweater …..completely understand the problem with publishing your crochet adaption of the pattern but wonder if Joji would be up for it if you contacted her?? Assuming you would be up for it also.I crochet but don’t think I could deal with the short row insertions etc. Your woolly gifts were treasure…have just come back from a two plus trip to Scotland but not a wool source in sight (well excluding the four footed providers which were everywhere and led to much amusement as they made eye contact then strolled nonchalantly out in front of me) thank you for the podcast.

Have you checked out On the hook? Crochet channel. Jeanne writes patterns based on your measurements. She writes in a conversational style. I love her soft voice and encouraging style. She also has Etsy shop. When you subscribe to her channel, you get a discount on her patterns. She posts Monday and Thursday
I have a boxy question for you, I know you’ve made a couple on you flat bed knitting machine, and I know you can make flat panels on the whirly machine, would a flat panel on your addi whirly be the same width as the panels you made on your flat bed? If not, approximately what is the size difference? I hope that makes sense.
Hi Anna. I don't know the exact measurements, but the whirly is roughly equivalent to aran weight/5mm needles, and can go to 40-ish stitches. The flat bed is nearer a sock gauge, but has 200 stitches (400 if the ribber is attached). Obviously the yarns will make a difference and there is a chance to vary tension a little on the flatbed, but I hope that helps. Cheers xx

Because it's a simple shape, the crochet pattern was pretty straightforward - just the shoulder shaping to think about, really. I have been sitting here planning another!

Loved that episode, thank you - it felt very happy! The bit about the best china teaset so reminded me of my mum, who always had several sets, and she brought us up to respect our "Sunday Best" clothes, to the extent that I have found it difficult to let go of that habit - but of course as you say, that means the 'good' clothes never get worn. It was only during the pandemic, when there was never any reason to wear anything nice apart from that it makes you feel good, that I managed to break through, and now I wear clothes every day that I enjoy. x

It's a universal experience, I think, and it makes sense to save some things for "best", both to protect them and to make their use special.
But also, our lives are different now - if people come for dinner, it's more likely to be for laughter and company, rather than fancy "dinner party" rules, so the plates don't matter. Glad you have managed to break through and are enjoying the things that you have.

Boxy looks great, still not sure that style would suit me.
Your yarn still looks yummy and glad to get a better look at it, shame there isn’t touchy- feely screen.
Cowl looks nice, the beads complement it really well.
I’ve managed to delete and recreate my hacked Instagram account, so the first thing I did was put up a pic of my Boho Blanket.
I’ve cast on a cardigan and a shawl (Kokopelli) and finished my crochet bear. Started another as it was intended for Grandson3, but the safety eyes are not suitable for his age, so this one will have embroidered features and no hat or ribbon.Also started a pair of socks, so as to have a portable project in my bag again.
Starting to venture out again a bit Another visit to Hairdressers and to LYS where I bought some cotton/bamboo for the crochet cardi I’m wanting to make (now behind second bear). Also friends garden.

I've been to a yarnshow near Harrogate. Spring Into Wool in 2019. In what I think was called "The Grammar School at Leeds". We spent that easter in York and I actually had nothing to do with the fact that I ended up at a yarn festival. Hubby told me after he booked the plain tickets and hotel to check if there were any yarn festivals that easter. If it wasn't for him, I never would have ended up at Spring Into Wool!

Lovely cardigan. I’m mainly a crocheter but started knitting a few years ago. I’m much slower at knitting and still struggle with fixing errors or some stitch patterns. Crochet is tons faster for me. I bought the Boxy and want to get going with it but I know it’s gonna take ages. I really like your crochet version ❤️

Love the sweater …..completely understand the problem with publishing your crochet adaption of the pattern but wonder if Joji would be up for it if you contacted her?? Assuming you would be up for it also.I crochet but don’t think I could deal with the short row insertions etc. Your woolly gifts were treasure…have just come back from a two plus trip to Scotland but not a wool source in sight (well excluding the four footed providers which were everywhere and led to much amusement as they made eye contact then strolled nonchalantly out in front of me) thank you for the podcast.

And then you went on talking about the Stitch and Knit show (did I get that right?) and it just could be that we walked past each other! Incredible! She also has Etsy shop. When you subscribe to her channel, you get a discount on her patterns. She posts Monday and Thursday

I have a boxy question for you, I know you’ve made a couple on you flat bed knitting machine, and I know you can make flat panels on the whirly machine, would a flat panel on your addi whirly be the same width as the panels you made on your flat bed? If not, approximately what is the size difference? I hope that makes sense.

I don't know the exact measurements, but the whirly is roughly equivalent to aran weight/5mm needles, and can go to 40-ish stitches.
The flat bed is nearer a sock gauge, but has 200 stitches (400 if the ribber is attached).
Obviously the yarns will make a difference and there is a chance to vary tension a little on the flatbed, but I hope that helps.
