The 2015 Hyundai Genesis is selling like crazy here in NYC. They're becoming as common as BMWs and Mercedes now, no joke. I had the chance to test drive the 2015 Hyundai Genesis V6 3.8L AWD and the driving experience was superior to my BMW 535d. The handling as very responsive (slightly on the heavy side which made me feel very confident) and the road feedback was very nice. The 3.8L V6 engine is more powerful than the BMW 535d and the AWD transmission is perfect.

I just got my Genesis a week ago. No buyers remorse here, it's a solid proposition from Hyundai. To get a German car with this level of equipment you need to fork at least $15-$20,000 more.

So i live in Dubai, and Hyundai in Dubai is obviously considered cheap, but I dont understand, compare to Benz, Audi , BMW etc are all pricey for nothing, and after 2 to 3 years you start experiencing problems with car and the spare parts are freaking expensive, so yesterday i went to the Hyundai show room and i went to check out the Genesis, omg its such a beautiful car, its super comfortable, safe and luxury, i was surprised the basic had everything in it, for a cheap price, hopefully Im getting this baby soon.

Carly Carter Hyundai is actually more technologically advanced than Nissan, Honda and Toyota. Hyundai manufactures high tech parts for advanced aircraft and fighter jets for Lockheed Martin and Boeing.
And Hyundai is the world's 3rd largest tank manufacturer.

    • @NoToMailOrderBrides

Carly Carter I'm German American and having lived in Germany for 15 years in my early teens to late 20s, I have to say that German cars are expensive for a reason. They are technologically advanced compared to Korean/Japanese cars and they have far more brand power than the Koreans/Japanese.
I recently bought the 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L V6 and it's seriously impressive. My previous car is the 2008 BMW 535d and the 2015 Genesis 3.8L V6 matches it in terms of steering responsiveness and outpaces it in terms of sheer power and driving satisfaction.
Hyundai is now technologically more advanced than Toyota, Nissan and Subaru.

The 2015 Hyundai Genesis is the best luxury car in this segment. Better than the BMW 5 series and Mercedes E class. And miles better than a Lexus GS350. Hyundai is one of the largest companies in the world, they even make jet engines for Lockheed Martin and Boeing. They are technologically far more advanced than Toyota/Lexus.

This car does not compete with the incoming A6 or E class nevermind the 5 series. When I think how much I pay per month to drive a car that has depreciated by 40% in the year I had it is a bit disconcerting. Hyundai service is absolutely horrid they couldn't fix a leaky sink let a long any quality of life issues. The car is a clunky, unrefined mess that creaks, rattles and just basically does not feel like a $50,000+ driving experience. I regret ever leasing this vehicle. Hyundai just sucks.

of course a teenager who has a bedroom pin-up poster of a Lamborghini Murcielago is going to cheer at the greatest Euro-spec luxo barge and bash to the edge of reason any competitive offering from hyundai because they just aren't "cool" enough.. just like a man frozen in time with a wallpaper of Victoria's Secret Models will never consider mature, sensible women as their life long partner and chase after hooters waiters...

Guys, before you diss the Genesis, take it for a test drive and then make your own conclusions. I actually test drove this car twice with 2 different dealers and I keep saying to myself- this is a Hyundai?. Before, I used to look down at this Brand (late 80's and 90's) but not anymore after test driving this 2nd Gen Genesis. I'm actually getting the AWD version in a couple of months. We have owned Japanese and German Cars- Lexus and MB's. My dad was a MB fan and before he passed away there were 4 MB's on his driveway. My brother drives an ML550. I used to own a CLK500 with AMG pkg. The MB's are really nice, solidly built and fun to drive WHEN working right and no issues. We have owned MB's since 2001 till recently. With extended warranty, you are good but once the warranty expires, it's very expensive to maintain these cars compared to their Japanese counterparts. I do most of the maintenance myself but there are times you need to bring it to an MB dealer or indy mechanic who knows how to work on it. Used to think HYUNDAI is Crap but not anymore. They have made very good strides Quality and that is why I'm getting one in a couple of months. Just finishing the current lease I have right now. Test Drive the car and then you decide before the negative comments I have read here. Just saying...

(most of the time) Hyundai is one of the Largest car companies in the world, they have garnered Billions of $ in profit, millions of buyers and fans, respect and loyalty, trust... i highly doubt they care what people say on youtube..

I live in Korea, and when I first saw this car on the roads here, I thought it was such a bland, uninspiring design, however the more I look at it the design really grows on me, and that's a difficult quality / aspect to be able to find in a Korean car. I think Hyundai is really showing it's evolution and technical prowess with this new generation Genesis.

I've owned 3 rear wheel drive Genesis, a 2011 4.6, a 2012 3.8, and current is 2015 5.0. With every car i somehow lucked out and was on the road before the plows hit it the first time, so worst, slickest roads. No snow tires, some route planning ahead around hills, those could present a probem occasionally. It helps to have driven a lot of 60's and 70's cars, that's all you got back then, rear wheel drive! I may opt for the AWD 3.3T when i decide to downsize but the 5.0 is a way different ride than the 3.8, stiffer, sportier, and it's a V8 with 420HP and lots of torque. Not as smooth as either 3.8 though, it's trying to be more BMW like, it's not a BMW but for the money you get a lot of car. Longest owned was the 2012 which had 333HP and very close to the V8's in accelleration, even the 311HP has pleanty of power, best value for most people. I'm just enjoying the smooth always there power and the more sports like supension and better handling for now, i will go back to the V6 eventually for the smoother ride, fuel economy is better too but what i like about it is the fuel tank is the same size so with the V6 you can cruise 500 miles on a tank easily. V8 mileage, well you 'can' get over 26 on the highway doing 75-80 but it's just so darn fun to press that 'go faster fedal' your'e doing tripple digets faster than you can say 'licene suspension'. I Love this car! What gave it away, lol and for $29000 with 33k miles and CPO, I think most people would!

They're huge in other areas such as heavy industry, finance and insurance, construction, engineering, retail, aerospace, defense, steel etc. Hyundai is the number 1 and biggest shipbuilder in the world. Also Hyundai made one of the best and most expensive battle tank XK2 which is in the Guinness book of world records. I'll admit their cars weren't all that in the past, but it came a long way, so give credit where it's due.

You don't have to worry about buying a new engine etc for an entire decade. And they're cheaper than all the other lux cars. That's a freaking win.

The Genesis 2015 is a huge step-up from the 2014. It looks like a BMW 5 series and the reason for that, is the guy that designed the 5 series is now with Hyundai. I traded my 5 series for the 2015 Genesis. I looked at the 2014 but decided to keep my 5 series, as I felt like I had the better car at that point. The 2015 Genesis was the game changer! That is, as long as you don't need to stroke your ego with a BMW badge! Make sure to get the real wood option, as it's just lights out. Like others have said, the Genesis have one of the higher residuals.

I see a lot of bias for the badge going on when reading these comments. One thing that was not covered because of the warranty is maintenance cost. Hyundai's power plant (designed by Audi) is as close to maintenance free as you will find. Switch to a good synthetic oil and you are all set. It's so much more than a timing chain compared to a timing belt, though that is a dealership selling point.
I used to speak poorly of Hyundai until I rode in one, then drove one and now own two. I can work on my own car again. I can easily upgrade or modify if I choose to. Bolt on products are limitless because the engine can be tuned to however you prefer to drive.
The suspension can be tweaked to who you are as a driver. I drive an R-Spec coupe as my daily driver because fun and power per dollar is nothing but value with that car.
But the sedan 5.0 is ridiculously fun to drive when you have to bring other people along.
I don't work for the company and am hated at my dealership because I expected their lowest price and to be treated like a king while not letting them perform basic maintenance or even wash it, that's how much I love them. Hand wash and polished by my hand.
Everyone who rides with me asks the same question...
    This is a Hyundai?
Times have changed. Try one if you don't believe me and decide how you should spend your dollars. This isn't entry level luxury, it's redefining it in an affordable way for people that want to enjoy the drive.

Funny how people constantly try to bash these cars because "the resale value won't be as good as the 'real' luxury brands." They fail to realize that those brands only have those kinds of resale values because of the value people place in the brands. That's it. Their logic just goes in circles. "This Hyundai won't be as valuable in 3 years as a BMW, because people won't think it's as valuable, therefore it won't be as valuable." People should get their heads out of their asses and stop pouring money to get a dumb logo (same thing with Apple, or any other overpriced brand name).

This is a "Great"! Only problem is the leather on the seats in the base model is very poor, our back seat tore, not cool, other then that, this car is a beast on the open road. One other thing, they need to put LED
    in the headbeams!

I really like this car ! I'm not a brand snob, but at 52K I might just get an A6 2,0T Quattro Premium Plus. I'd have to drive them back to back and really skimp on some options on the Audi though. So I get some of the comments about buying a 52K Genesis V6. On the other hand I'd get a base Genesis over a base 328i any day of the week ! I mean 38K for this much car and it being this good, it's a no brainer !

Very very nice design … but would not the Equus be the better investment? There are some oversights that the reviewer made known very honestly, and I find the storage really minimal for such a sedan. I believe the Equus is better while it costs less than 10.000$ more. Also in on the back seats you have a lot more space in the Equus.

The back seat is indeed truly comfortable, more so than the front ones. That wood trim looks and feels like it was sourced from a dollar store. A fully equipped Sonata looks the same or better inside. Not sure where Hyundai is going with the Genesis, but perhaps it will evolve in the next years much like most Hyundai products.
