Shalom! Hi Anne, you can't imagine how thrilled I am to watch this vid now, 3 years later! I've always wondered if I could make coconut candy with Evaporated milk and here you have confirmed it! Just so happy now I can do this childhood favorite with a twist. Thank you dear Anne. Have clicked the bell icon to all. Hugs and love from Penang.
I found that this is a simple traditional candy recipe. Keep posting the unforgotten olden recipes which are still sought for. I do add pandan leaves . Will try yours. Wish to taste your candies personally. Very tempting Hahaha. Merry Christmas and Happy CNY.
It looks delicious ❤️😍 Dear Aunty, thank you for sharing your recipes to us. I love learning "old" recipes especially cakes and anything sweets because I want to keep the taste of my childhood going. I don't want to look back one day and say, I wish I had learnt a particular recipe. I am trying my best to learn old school recipes even though it's tough to get them right now especially for cakes due to family secret recipes haha. When I was hoping that I could learn from someone, your video suggestions appeared on my feed and I felt soooo happy and blessed. Thank you Aunty for helping people like myself to learn and to keep the tradition going. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family, Aunty ❤️
Thank you so much for your lovely message. I am glad you find my recipes helpful. It is my intention that my children & grandchildren will always be able to enjoy these traditional treats in the many years to come. Am happy to share my recipes with everyone too! Thank you for your Christmas greetings. May you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year too 🎄💗
Dear Ann, First, Thank you so much for sharing your delicious candy receipe. Do we need to put oil over the wok b4 we pour in the grated coconut.. thanks again
Thanks for showing, itoo use evoporated milk let me tell you iadd1 cup of powder milk n1/2lemon it turns well sister nocolourning beigh sorry for interfering
It will take about 40mins. Too long it will get very hard. Once mixture starts leaving pan, you should be alert. Cut while warm... say about 10mins after you have smoothed it out on the tray.
Hi there, it is difficult to give an exact time as the timing varies depending on the heat used. The most important thing is to test with a spatula towards the end (when the candy mixture is almost dry). If the candy doesn’t stick to the spatula, then it is ready.

I don't have access to fresh coconut. Could I use preshredded, packaged coconut from the supermarket?
How do u.make the white to put on top. Top for the cream coconut cream..what is the respite for that
Hi aunty thanks for the recipe but may i ask if we can use condensed milk n mix ideal milk instead of adding sugar n want to use butter..Can?

Does it can be stored in air tight box at room temperature 25 degree celsius for longer days.. And for how much days it can be stored

Amazing Candy Cutting Skills!
Thank you, Pauline 💗💗💗
Beautiful colour n Ann cut it sooo neatly.. creativity is the key word I guess
We don’t have freshly ground coconut here Alberta, Canada, got to do it myself
Hi, may I know how long will this keep in air tight container? Must this be refrigerated or left at room temperature.
Hi Sara, in an airtight container it will keep for under a week in room temperature. In the fridge for 2 weeks, and in the freezer for 2 months.
So yummy
It's hard to find freshly grated coconut where I'm from. Can I use frozen?
Mam can you please show how to make tiny curry puff looking groundnuts and sugar filled cookies. I just simply love these cookies.Tq
It is my favourite goodie too (but a lot of hard work!). Ok one day I will make it 😄
Lovely ma'am. Brings back memory of my Aunt who used to do this during Deepavali and our Birthdays. Thank you for sharing dear ma'am.
You are most welcome, Ragu! Glad these old fashioned recipes bring back happy memories. Hope you enjoy making it. Happy Deepavali!

Can I know how long did you stir the candy. Mine turned out super hard till couldn't even cut.
It will take about 40mins. Too long it will get very hard. Once mixture starts leaving pan, you should be alert. Cut while warm... say about 10mins after you have smoothed it out on the tray.
Yummy food 😋👌
Can we reduce sugar for the coconut xandy?
Evaporated milk?? Most uses condense milk
Good tip with grease proof paper.
How long you have cooked the mixture

Very nice tools
I’m going to try this soon xx
That’s great, Lorena! Hope you enjoy it. Please convey our best wishes to your parents 💗
