Top notch angling Jamie. I've never caught a sturgeon. Made the net look like one for children to use on the beach. It was great to see you laughing with surprise when you first glimpsed it. Loved the vid as is the norm. The back ground was real pretty with the winter sun on it. TTFN.
I hooked my first one on pole. I had no idea what I hooked, it was like catching a train. No jumpy or shaky things. It just went like a truck. I had fairly strong kit, but I was not in charge for the first 10 minutes. I had to get it with my hands, the landing net (20") was too small to fit it in. Over 100cm.

Great video again and some nice fish. Be careful with holding the sturgeon as they can be quite delicate and try to escape if they have energy left and feel threatened, in which case you'll have a tremendous wrestling match in your hands 😂. It didn't look huge but the muscles they have are simply amazing.
@@CatchFishingChannel definitely. Still good hunters even in the temperatures through winter. I've 3 myself but they're placid now, they live nothing more than a good headrub and shrimp as a treat.

Fantastic catch ,i really enjoy your videos 👍🎣 Have to say all I could think of was how close the overhead power line was to the pond! This baffles me, how paying customers can be allowed to fish so close to these,this line will be a minimum of 11kv possibly 33kv or greater. The last thing I'd want near it is a 12foot carbon fishing rod See it all over on TH-cam fishery videos. GUYS BE AWARE OF THE DANGERS,OVERHEAD LINES CAN BE FATAL STEER CLEAR AND STAY SAFE

Winter fishing for me is the best especially on the river's had 26 Chub on one of the coldest days I have been fishing and a 2lb roach and only 1 pint of maggots bargain 👍

Will a single piece of punched bread create a wafter effect ? I imagine larger pieces will just sit in the bottom. Great videos I am new to fishing, since retiring, and find them very informative and enjoyable
What are the laws on Sturgeon in fisheries these days? Approx 15 years ago a fishery local to me were told to remove theirs upon being caught. Has this now changed?
