Lots of stress...it TAKES ALL THE FUN OUT OF IT.....costs of fishing will always be on the increase... But ....When covid was happening...you kept us all sane .. Thank you JONATHAN
To carry that pressure for 15years is why you are a legend glad to see that you found the direction that suits you your videos not only give so much knowledge they are great to watch so many match anglers are so full of them selves but you show the better side of the craft
Totally absorbing. Des at his candid best and Andy keeping the flow. Interesting Point highlights whether angling in England is becoming one dimensional (commercials) and we are gradually losing that broad capability and competitive edge. Keep doing the brain drain guys, the wisdom is awesome.
A fantastic career to proud of Des, and all good things come an end. I love the story abou the pots, euro 2003 in Vries that was. Only a couple of weeks later, and everybody in the netherlands was using pots from then on.
Excellent and very insightful discussion from Des regards what it takes to fish at World Championships. To quote the Fast Show “hardest game in the world”.
That was a fascinating podcast - had no idea what was involved as an England team member or that it could affect the anglers so much. Love watching all of Des’s videos as he has a wonderful way of explaining things, just like Andy and Jamie. Thanks to everyone involved.
What a belting insight into top level fishing....there must be so much more to be told. Flat floats from 1 to 50 gram Big thank you to Des , Richard and Andy.
This was a great eye opening insight into your world of fishing. I was surprised, somewhat saddened but at the end of the day you are an amazing angler. 👍
Des mate don't put yourself down in who's the best in angling terms remember collectively the England team as a hole which means all of you working together won those medals at what a great pod cast without you guy's doing these and sharing knowledge fishing wouldn't be fishing and you all give inspiration
Absolutely brilliant. Keep the England, Worlds theme going with this with anglers like Will, Alan, Nuddy, Stevie G etc. Also the feeder lads like a Ringer and Kerry. Would make a nice change from the constant commercial thing 👍
Brilliant 👏👏👏👏 And I’m with des The behind the scenes of the world champ would be a gud thing to see James and Matt are doing there bit but a lot more cud be done and it would probably help the team too
Brilliant des and so right about the matches if don’t turn up red card can’t enter no more just killing matches not being even when matey has free swims etc etc be nice to see some big money matches more southeast rather than midlands etc
im 60 now, at 10 years old i started fishing, loved it, i can remember being 4 or 5 tieing bits of string to sticks and pretending i was fishing, i found it perfectly natural, and soon became good, when i was 14 i was selected for the, north yorkshire and south durham team, done the national championships for a couple of years, then discovered punk rock alcohol and women , just got back into it 3 year back, i recon i could qualify for england, but after listening to des, i dont tink we would be compatible, im such a moaning old twat.
This is like messi talking to haaland! Legends chatting about how it was, is and will be! Awesome, I’d pay to see these guys chat! Forget Comic-Con, get me a ticket to Fish-Con!!
31:55 back in the day it was social. people mates companies communities tackle shops clubs all fished. now it not. individuals and its harder to keep traditions going. ..... look at the nationals... and society is getting more about you against the world
Des is one of the first anglers I saw in mags with Andy may and Bob nudd , Tommy Pickering , Steve ringer and Alex bones and mick bull .. 2004… when I was 34… and started fishing . But credit to him he has had an amazing career to date and he still has some to go 👍👍👍👍
when i started fishing age 11 with reading angling times in 1985 france italy and dick cleggs drennan team england were fighting for top 3 til the 1990s
Andy I watched your back to basic pole fishing video today and I love your comedic value on your videos with Jamie, but you little dark horse you. The way you interviewed the great Des Shipp was first class

Totally absorbing. Des at his candid best and Andy keeping the flow. Interesting Point highlights whether angling in England is becoming one dimensional (commercials) and we are gradually losing that broad capability and competitive edge. Keep doing the brain drain guys, the wisdom is awesome.
Nice to see these pro’s simply having a chat and not just going through the motions of question and answer. Keep it up lads 👍

What a belting insight into top level fishing....there must be so much more to be told. Flat floats from 1 to 50 gram

We need a top 5 uk match angler countdown
England legend Des. Career to be proud of.
I agree with Des I m from Poland for me fishing in rivers is real and what Des says for him is knew for me is normal😀
What Des didn't mention was the out-of-pocket expenses for fishing internations?
The need for a bait detective sponserd 😊
There are 2.9 million anglers in the UK, and zero funding for our national teams, its a disgrace.
Class!

Our International teams should be paid expenses for representing our Nation. The Country take the glory, so they should help out.
I wonder when did andy last fish bloodworm :)
where is des fishing?
Meadowlands, I think👍
21:10 8 bags of ground bait. glad im not paying for that
is this why kim quit?
I heard it was because he was a Southerner and did not fit with the establishment! Only what I heard recently so don't know if that was true.
@@richardprosser9379 thats so sad. kim was awsome but lots of evidence faces dont fit and great tallent is lost in cricket football ... angling :(
@@scottessery100 from what I remember of Kim, he was an intense, driven, individual match angler but social enough. Not one of the lads so to speak.
There’s me thinking fishing was good for mental health and well being.
So England lose Des AND Alan..
🤔🤔🤔🤔
