  • We follow Rikki Richards through a session fishing the bomb and bread and he talks us through in depth all the things he thinks about whilst approaching this method to catch some very big wise carp.

    Great vid . Very informative and a good plan of attack for anyone fishing a new venue in the winter . Dont know what the guy talking about 186lb carp in 6 hours and less talk more fishing is on about . All venues fish differently and especially if your new to it . Keeping it simple might have worked on the venue he fished but there are many venues in the winter , if you go with no plan of locating the fish , you aint catching much !!! Excellent vid Rikki . Cant wait for the next one !!!

      thank you very much mate. i don't take much notice of people like that anyway mate. if he done less trolling and payed more attention to the videos he would of caught 300lb and not a measly 186lb lol

      thanks mate. Fishing the feeder is slightly different as you are setting a trap and waiting for the fish to come along but in reality you should have a bite within 10 mins if you are going to get on at all

    I use those pole bung cut-offs for making pellet bombs up with as well as punching out 8-10mm bread and meat.

    I always worry that my bread will come off when I cast and the I’ll be sitting waiting for a bite with no bread on. Is this the best way to fish with bread?

    Loved the vid. Definitely going to give this a go. Didn’t quite understand the decision to creep outwards though. Surely creeping back means you find the fish sooner? Is there any benefit to creeping out rather than creeping in?

    Not related to this video Rikki, but i watched a video of you fishing bloodworm and joker about a week ago and can't find it now. You put a glove on for mixing GB and thank the venue for letting you use b&j. Can you point me in the right direction?

    Like the thinking on how you fish the lead, I always saw it as a bit of a chuck and wait method. You really do need to change that rod rest for a different style, picking the line up on it twice is no good

      Reg Jenkinson no mate not atall. It does work well in clear water but it will still work in coloured water aswell.

    Do you always fish approx 12" hook length regardless of depth?
    My local lake is around 10 feet deep.

      not always mate but a 12 inch hooklength has caught me more fish over the years than anything else when the peg is deeper than 4ft.

      If you use a quick stop your bread will stay on fine mate. I fined this is the best way to fish with Bread for carp yes.
