I'm surprised you didn't put new struts on while you had everything apart. I just did new Bilsteins on my 987. The stock ones were definitely shot. Looked just like yours. I'll bet your strut bumpers are completely disintegrated too. Freshening up my struts and all the associated components including new polyurethane bushings for the front and rear sway bars brought the ride quality back to where it was when I bought the thing. A little pricey, but worth it if you're going to keep the car.

Mine need doing and the bump stops are completely shot, especially after a lap of the Nurburgring in summer. Mind if I ask how much you spent on the Bilstein kit and how it changes the comfort, in my area of the UK we get a lot of HGV's in town so potholes-a-plenty.

For my Clio there's a little box which tricks OEM head unit that there's a cd changer attached.
The little magic box has an AUX input. Got a BT receiver plugged in. Can't remember brand, but I'm sure you'll find it if available for Porsches.
I think the box communicates to radio via CANBUS or something.

If/when you take the door panels off to replace the speakers, make sure to add some Dynamat to the door. This will improve the sound a lot. For the PCM 2.1 you can get a Mr12Volt Bluetooth module that hooks up to the MOST bus, this might be an option for your car as well?

    • @RoadandRacetv
